I remember when in the depths of addiction I would travel deep into the desert outside of roswell new Mexico to practice with the bow staff for his glory, oh how I still see the fluid motion of the staff relentless in motion just like his love so free in his spirit. I see gold and cottonwood blooms bouncing of of the sun, spinning with the hope of freedom as a young man man. Oh lord I thank you soooooo for this vision/memory. You've brought me to freedom and integrity of spirit since the memory I cherish of your truth.

This song gives me creeps.. don'r get me wrong this is for God but in terms of the dynamic of the music it's like you're in a Rainy Sad Night in front of Cathedral like all is Black and White.

This has to be one of my favourite songs of all time, why? Because it shows wonder and beauty of God's grace for us. Let's break down the lyrics part of the second verse.

Verse two says,
Grace
You saw the crushing weight my flesh deserved
You kneeled and wrote forgiveness in the dirt
And one by one the stones fell where they lay
As one by one my accusers walked away
With nothing left to throw they made a cross
And knowing only love could count the cost
You were there

With nothing left to throw they made a cross this line has never been so comforting about God's love. Now the song is about the story of the woman caught in adultery and how God's grace intervened. Let's go to Leviticus and look at what evolved in this story.

Leviticus 20:10
The man who commits adultery with another's wife, even his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death

See when the pharisees brought the woman they wanted badly to justify stoning that lady but the law says both people are to be put to death but strangely enough the woman was alone facing death in her accusers hand on one side and Jesus on the other side.

Let me "assume" that the man who was with her was a pharisee and they couldn't expose their own coz well, they were the enforcers and upholders of the law. Two factors were ringing loud in both Jesus and the pharisees minds that this was a sin and Jesus asks them, whoever has no sin let them cast the stone but knowing very well that stoning couldn't work coz all knew they were sinners just not exposed they dropped their stones and walked away. Jesus then asks the lady, where are your accusers.

Three things were still constant, Jesus (Grace), the woman caught in adultery and the pharisees. The pharisees wanted so bad to stone her and uphold the law but Jesus intervened. So they thought to themselves to stone the woman they had to eliminate Jesus so they made a cross and Jesus was to act as an example to anyone who would in the future try to intervene with what the law said. Jesus knew that He would soon go home and send a helper so He walks(not literally), hangs on the cross for not just the adulterous woman but us all. His act of crucification was to seal a covenant, a covenant that was not based on our acts of righteousness but on His perfect acts, a covenant that put the first covenant in a effect less state.

Without grace the price of adultery or our sins was too great a price for us to pay and death was an assurance but the beauty and peace that grace brings is that there is a love freely given to us for us. Its a gift.

If we see ourselves as sinners we will surely see ourselves through the eyes of our accusers and assume or conform the the posture of deserving death and condemnation but grace calls us to a place of looking at everything through the lens of God's love.

Without God's grace we are doomed and no acts of righteousness can save us. We can ignore grace but it doesn't eliminate the power it has or withdraw the gift element that God has availed it to us. We still are forever embraced by a fathers love.

Condemnation has power if Jesus(Grace) is silenced. That's what they tried to do by making a cross but instead Jesus made a statement on the one thing(cross) the pharisees threatened people with to act as a reminder that the cross is now powerless because the price has been paid

For God so loved us that He gave us His only child that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal(everlasting) life. John 3:16

My daughter bought the Wonder CD for my 8yr old granddaughter. I listened to it. It is absloutely my favorite album of all time now and I basically adopted it. Water to Wine is my favorite song ever, the Holy Spirit blessed me as soon as it began. I recorded it and Rain/Reign. One is my ring tone and the other my notification tone.
