As a young teenager I was ill-equipped to understand the depth of her messages at the time her unplugged came out. I loved it but didn't quite get what it was about until later in life. 
She had a profound awakening and shifted away from her previous path in order to spread spiritual awareness but the "system" tried to shut her down as a result. They unfairly portrayed her as being mentally unstable and crazy which was absolute nonsense. Any depression she experienced was likely because the industry completely turned on her.
