Hill, Dan - Hold On Lyrics

So you flung your fist high in the air
But the world remained the same
And all the demonstrations
Filtered out through graduation
And the times that were a changing
Never changed
Freedom takes on new meaning
When you have a family of five
And peace and revolution dissolved in its own solution
When you're fighting for your life
Just to survive

It's then you've gotta

Hold on - for what you believe in
Hold on - don't let it fade
Still you've gotta
Be strong - find yourself a reason
You never change the world
But just the same
You've gotta hold on stronger
Each and every day
When the night creeps in so hollow
When the silence makes you scream
When you're so damned scared of failure
When the world's burned out it's saviors
When you're feeling too vulnerable to dream

It's then you've gotta
Hold on - for what you believe in
Hold on - don't let it fade
Still you've gotta
Be strong - find yourself a reason
You never change the world
But just the same
You've gotta hold on stronger
Or else you'll fade

I must have played this song a hundred times when I was going through some dark days in university.  It gave me the hope and strength to "hold on."  Thanks Dan.

Pag aaruga at pag hahanap buhay para may ipakain at mabuhay ang mga anak, wake up childrens, don't fight what is is wrong, listened to learned what love is, and the truth of life that will set you free from doing unrighteousness according to the Scriptures of God, God bless you all. I love you all.

Kapag iba na ang usapan after Bible study, maiintindihan mo na hindi lahat ng pinag aaralan nila sa bible may tama at may mali. Kaya nag kakaraon ng pagtatalo when problems arise. God bless you all in Jesus name, Amen Glory to Father God in Jesus name, Amen

This song BEGS to be covered by any artist that wants a hit today. Overlooked in it's day - real shame.

You said it!! Maybe the finest lyric ever to capture the turbulent revolutionary feel the 60's and young people who lived through it and transitioned into adult real life, but refused to abandoned the the precious values of youth. Perfect production work and arrangement for it... ala Bridge over Troubled Waters. It was a style back then that grabbed you.

Is that what hold on means? To hold for what you believe in? Oh wow and to think that the last person that told me to hold on and hung up the phone on me - and I thought he meant something different...hmm

  8. K.... M....

Yes i think it was because of radio as they did not want songs back then that were to long

  9. L.... S....

This song is way too short :(
