I heard this song for the first time yesterday, HH's was before my time, I was born in the late 60's. I agree, it is a beautiful cover of Skeeter's classic. I found out years ago, the composer of the song in the 30's lost her dad. Whether it's the death of a loved one or a relationship ends, it takes a toll on your heart. I heard Peter was a very nice person, I believe he is still married to his first wife. He settled down pretty young too.

Love the video!  Last tuesday, my ex passed away, she was my partner in crime, even when we were not together.  dated for almost 3 years, were married for 20+ apart for 6+ years.  Now she not there to talk to any more.  this must have been how my dad felt after my mom passed away.  She has to be with her dad and mine now.  just like the song, No I can't understand.

this was on they greatest hits that I received in 68. back then i was too young to realize what it was all about and music after that changed so much. but when true love has come and gone, this song really point it out. it really hit home. I love this song but it also bring out the hurt inside.

I was 6 when Herman Hermits came out. I had such a crush on him. He has such a beautiful clear voice. Still makes me smile. Got to see him at KOOL concert several years ago here in Denver. Still hot!
