so much Hendrix songs disabled or greyed out
on U-Tube.
Was told to move to the music app sp××××y
(the app where i was supposed to find real
and no fake Hendrix)
There are some real ones.
But when listening
in the album
Crash Landing,
(*a posthumous compilation)
which was released in 1975 and produced by
Alan Douglas)
i hear that many
sequences of the then recorded songs
are no longer in the(*original)way.
Even as the 1975
"Crash landing" album
already was no longer
100% real Hendrix,
it was still better
then what i hear in these
new revised edition.
Most of the songs are
now modified and sound
adulterated,
missing the greatness
i used to hear in older
album editions;
with all the interplay
and finer points.
Maybe the result of
some new recording engineer regime,
in a misguided opinion
that the new generation might not hear
the difference between
the once original well-recorded ones
and
the new
but bad-sounding mingle-mangle?
Very annoying for me!
Saddening and
beyond my comprehension
that one of the
most creative guitar genius is being neglected
and alienated by partly
cheap covers of musicians
and a inactive,
indifferent music entertainment industry.

Its like a swell or delay used on this, you cant tell asmuch untill you slow it down

If you slow this down using youtube you can really hear the trippyness of the guitar effects and playing in that intro. The bends are so trippy and swell like

The original version included on "People, hell and Angels" is way better. Whereas on "Crash Landing" you can feel a sort of overproduction, a remix attemp.

If you hear him singing, you know the song is real Hendrix, because that's how he rolled. Every time he played, there's another version. I believe the original tracks had keyboards on it. That version is cool too.

Me too. I like Jimi's later stuff. I think he was writing better songs as he aged. Of course, his playing was relaxed and impeccable. Crash Landing was produced by Alan Douglas. Due to Jimi's death, Alan had to replace some parts with different musicians. I do not mind this. We want the best possible product put out.

I agree. Many love the early stuff. I like the last stuff, prior to his death. I think his writing was vastly improving. More meaningful lyrics, superb playing, beautiful tone. Excellent production by Douglas.

His decision to stop burning his guitars and move strongly into funk was epic. This was just a taste of what was to become. So sad we did not get to year his Funk Explosion

Huh? Hendrix burned his guitar roughly three times in his career - the rest was pure fiction. And 'funk' was just one aspect of his later work, not all of it by any means.

Had the 8 track back in the 70s. Could listen to Peace in Mississippi all day.

Some of his best work on this album. The post-production was contextual and restrained. Funny, it sounds like his guitar is chewing gum in the solo, like he often did on stage as a rhythmic embellishment. He may have intended that.

This came out in 1975 total rip off none of the musicians on this ever played with Jimi during his lifetime a total rip off they treated Jimi like a cheap commodity back then ...

I don't care what criticisms are made about this album being cobbled together using session players to fill in gaps and all, this album still sounds fantastic to my Jimi-loving ears.

I know the person who was working Audio Tech for the Band of Gypsies ... and at the rehearsals .. I bought the commercially released album but did not yet record it to a home Hi FI home tape ... Very Cool you did .. THANK YOU .. but I love having a couple copies of the orignal Alan Douglas produced album which was much trashed .. but I Flippin love the versions.. regardless of the later studio musician input

The louder guitar is played by another guy, not Hendrix. The same for the bass guitar.

So much criticism on the Crash Landing album in the day. Well...I loved it! Every song is great!

I gotta say though, I very much enjoyed your passion and anger over this.

This version differs from the one on 'Crash Landing.' The backing vocals aren't included on the redone version, and the song just sounds like it was given a lobotomy in general. I was pretty upset to learn the song had been doctored, but this appears to be the original cut.

Hendrix had no control over it and its an exploitative rip off by Alan Douglas who hired session morticians to record numerous overdubs on raw Hendrix tracks. You attitude is like oh well, who cares he dead, lets hear it all anyway
