Been listening to them since I seen the In The Meantime video premiere on Headbangers Ball. I was like WTF is this glorious sound!!! Got in the car and drove 110mph (VW Rabbit's aren't very fast, but they're hell in the turns) to the mall to buy the cassette. Went home, cranked my stereo, punched my sister in the face, kicked a hole in a door and strangled her cat to death by accident.
That's how music is supposed to effect you, if it doesn't, you may as well be listening to Barry Manilow or some shit.

Turns out Weird Al is the best for getting into music. Smells Like Nirvana> Nirvana> Melvins> Helmet. That chain of music was all cause of Al :D

Actually this may be alternative rock, but it's def. metal. In fact Helmet was a huge inspiration for a lot of the nu-metal and alt. metal in the 90's and so on. Just cause they don't sound like your typical metal band, that's what I like about them.

It's hardcore rock, IMO.

"NU-metal" is the most hideous thing that's ever happened to music. And that's saying a lot when there are a lot of bullshit pop artists out there.

@leoantonio It's if I'm not mistaken, not on purpose. It's a problem with Youtube, that the bass or some part of the levels and frequencies and etc. in the sound can only be handled at certain volumes, or intensities. I tend to mess around with FL studio, and I've noticed at times when one instrument is quite louder than another, if I turn down the volume on it, the other one can be nearly as loud, or a third I could hardly or not hear, makes itself more apparent.
