Heart - Rage Lyrics
Hands on the wheel gridlock and steel dogs are barking out in the street
It's a neighborhood war better lock that door
Flesh and blood and cold concrete
Baby can't make it. Baby can't make it
Standing in line at the tabloid shrine in the middle of the public night
RAGE!
Amphetamine vapor on glass in the paper underneath fluorescent night
In the catacombs of Styrofoam out of mind and out of sight
Baby can't make it! Baby can't make it!
RAGE!
Where is the heartbeat?
The madness mounts the judge lost count, lost inside a technical lie!
RAGE!

This one nearly cracked the walls!!
Awesome!!
Omg..This song way rocks.. I remember hearing this live unreal!!
I honestly thought both the band and Ann's voice cracked the walls!! A super high!!
Awesome song!
Criminally underrated album... one of my favorites, and this song... just WOW!!! Ann is simply peerless.
Ann is still the best singer in rock! This album, "Desire Walks On", is my all time favorite album by Heart! Although, Heart's "Jupiter's Darling" is also an excellent music collection! <3
I have yet to understand this song.Have always liked it, but don't understand the meaning
Portrait of a corrupt metropolis, as far as I can see. Way ahead of its time; this would fit right in with the contemporary "grim-dark" comic books and urban dystopia movies of our own days.
I always found this song a little 'dark' for Heart's style of rock. Its a damn good song
I think that's why this song and Black on Black (along with the more recent releases) are so well liked by Heart purists. They are only dark by 80s Heart standards; Heart's earlier material was all like this.
Listen to Shell shocked, from Heart, 1985, the note she hits FULL voice, after the guitar solo...Pat can't do this....
Pat does not, sorry.
Upon reading your comment, I revisited Saraya.
She's good, but certainly not in the ranks of Pat, or Ann.
I believe Pat has a bigger octave range. But Ann just has that raw, gutteral croon down to perfection. Personally though, I admire Sandi's melodic depth above all. But all three rule.
Have you listened to Terri Nunn of Berlin? Another good female rocker :)
Pat, indeed is a great singer! Even still, she can't hit Wilson's notes, and shear power.
Pat can tear doors off, Ann can blow the whole damn house down.
Yes indeed Sandi hasn't received recognition, what a shame.
Ann is just a force that cannot be reckoned with...
Save for Pat Benatar and the criminally underrated/unknown Sandi Saraya.
A great power song
I appreciate Ann is compared to Plant, However, Ann, now at 62, can still put many a singer to shame. Plant was done many a year ago, it's high time Ann is recognized for the outstanding talent she is, that being, the greatest female rock singer ever...no one compares to her range, clarity, emotion. In power alone, she reigns.
famale led zepplin for sure what a great ass song!!
The last great Heart LP. Thanks 4 posting!
