One of my fav bands while growing up in So Cal in ‘70s. Love Somerville’s guitar work and Schlitt’s vocals. Way under appreciated. Met John Schlitt while walking into a Home Depot in Franklin TN several years ago and stopped him just to quickly say I appreciated him. He took the time to talk with me about for a few minutes.
A very talented, gracious and humble guy who has survived life’s ups and downs.

I believe this album was there best. I love them all but I had never heard this till a few years ago. John Schilllit is just such an amazing lead singer. Never saw him mwith Head East but saw him with Petra and one the best concerts I ever attened.
You know, in my opinion, there's a lot to be said about illegal taping of live shows. Once the groups have lost a member, or disbanded or gone away, that's it. Record companies cry about lost sales, and the groups themselves complain that there is too much black market live taping. However, for years, I have waited for a professionally- done live Boston concert DVD, but now it's too late as Brad Delp is gone. Thank goodness for YouTube so I can catch the black market recordings!

i've been to the house on chambers, met with punky meadows, greg g. (Angel) gary r. kevin c. (REO) there, 1977 great times, I didnt know Pops or the Oz was around in 1968 when the band formed and also it formed in Champain IL. none of the band was from st louis, all from south central IL

"Head East Live!" is equal to any of the great live albums of the 1970s. Outrageously, it has never been released on compact disk in its original form, let alone fully remastered, as it surely deserves.
I saw Head East on the "A Different Kind Of Crazy" tour, I believe John Schlitt's last with the band. Fantastic.

Hey...saw these guys...I am mean the original lineup at there very last show..which was at the University of Kearney in Kearney, NE back in 1979!!! wow!! I want some live footage!!
As far as I know there is not. However, a YouTube member named HeadEastRocks told me that there may be someone who has some old footage from one of their live gigs who may be releasing it in the future. If I ever get a chance to post any of it I will.
