hey could someone explain the meaning of the lyrics?? i mean the music is good but it seems to me as he is singing about oral sex and in another song its like he sings about weed and stuff...

I'm almost certain this song is about being some sort of vampire or something.

From another comments section on another video for the same song, it's about a witch he kidnaps and keeps in his basement.

when I think of the lyrics I see a witch hazel entered his domain, unaware of his level of battling on the astral plane, and is subsequently captured.

Ya IAH is one of the greatest albums I've ever heard. Each album since has just gotten worse since, lyric wise, instrument wise.

Ok, I like it, my only dig on it is it seems they were vocally and musically influenced by A7X in this song...just my two cents

I miss the old HIL. I was super excited about this record but I really hope it's not 12 tracks of this... I remember seeing them in NYC at the knitting factory, they had everyone chanting f*ck soundgarden - but they're turning more and more into that soft generic nonsense every record, although It Hates You did have a few killer tracks on it...

Whilst I understand that music is entirely subjective, however to accuse Soundgarden of being generic is wrong in every way. It my opinion they are the modern Zeppelin, along with Mastodon. It Hates You got me into He Is Legend, and in fact a tour with Soundgarden would be orgasmic.

I have a feeling he's gonna shine in other songs on the record. I saw them live and the new guy is a fucking tank. He's all about the ghost notes.

One night I was with a buddy in Pittsburgh walking down the street with a bunch of drunk college kids and pizza spots and we walked by one that was playing something from IAH i think, I cant remember,...needless to say me and my friend freaked the fuck out and instantly bought a large pizza. Favorite pizza spot now.

What part of Pittsburgh? I'm from the Mt and it's hard to find HIL fans in these parts. Probably Oakland or SS I'm guessing!

I love watching the progression of HIL. From their post hard-core IAH & 91025 days to what they make now. I notice their sound goes through some drastic changes, but Skylar always keeps his fairy tale lyrics which is a big reason why I keep coming back to their albums. 

yes. his lyrics over those melodies is what keeps me coming back. and the dirty ass riffs hehe. 

I love how many meanings i can always find in his lyrics, cant find that anywhere else

Love everything but the choruses. Although that's been my biggest gripe with HIL for forever, so it's obvious that they're going for something that I'm just not into.
