Have A Nice Life - Burial Society Lyrics

I close my eyes a better man
Or imagine that I can imagine such a thing
And it goes on and on and on and on like that
Project myself into the air, and float in a weightless night
It's better than sitting heavy backed, and sending waves of anxious hate into the street, trying to shut down the stop lights

It isn't real, but it feels real
It isn't real, but it feels real

As I crane my neck to an emptiness (better than knowing nothing at all)
I feel in my chest (I know I know myself)
Cut my wrists, slit my throat, take this body and string it up
Cause I'll never know

"I'm weak again, stay inside, hate everything."
Well hey, that's our lot. And I'm already inside out
Cut my wrists, slit my throat, take this body and string it up
And I'll never know what you said, because I'll be fucking dead by then

"I'm weak again, stay inside, hate everything."
Well hey, that's our lot. And I'm already inside out
Cut my wrists, slit my throat, take this body and string it up
And I'll never know what you said, because I'll be fucking dead by then

To the doom-boys (making public a response):

“It’s easy to say life isn’t futile but that’s just making an assertion.” Paraphrasing.

    REPLY:

You’re right. It is easy to assert things... Things like “All life is futile.” That’s a truth claim that is not defensible.

Atheists are such whiny children. Here is the life progression of the typical HANL atheist fanboy:

Emotions in early teens, rejection, unrequited love> feelings of injustice, anger and existential squealing> shamefully poor attempt to rationalize these feelings into a pseudo-coherent worldview, because age (now 16-20 years old) calls for a certain level of this> angry at God for everything in general> fanboy atheist channels on YouTube> read the first three pages of Thus Spake Zarathustra> parrot quotes from Google.

Alternatively, Christian theists dominate every field because they are simply better critical thinkers, less emotional, more honest.

What? Jesus people?? Get out!, you say.

    Sure.

67.5% of Nobel Laureates in the Natural Sciences (actual scientists and physicists -not youtube philosophers) are not only NOT atheist (so much for science v. religion, huh?) but openly Christians. Another 18% believe in a monotheistic religion.

People like Ian Hutchinson (MIT quantum physicist), John Lennox, Ard Louis, William Lane Craig, Francis Collins (founder of the Human Genome Project) -all Christians.

    So why mention all this?

Because Cioran and Nietzsche and all the atheist doom-boys are only writing “things of value” that stem from their particular philosophical worldview.

It all comes up from a base set of questions they have subjectively answered and then done their academic work based on/working within those parameters.

That worldview is materialism, the idea that only the physical/material universe exists.

So there. There you have it. Statements like “life is futile” and all the other doom-gloom parroting are only valid and meaningful and accurate if the statements’ presuppositions are correct.

But why on earth would I or anyone else think they are? Where theists have over 200 peer-reviewed arguments in existence for God (even loosely or exactingly defined ideas of God), the atheist has basically two arguments that are old and tired.

Nihilism is only true if Christianity (and even theism) is false.

I have many positive reasons for thinking Christianity is true, no comparably good reasons for thinking atheism is true, and 67.5% of Nobel Laureates in the Natural Sciences agree with me, as do 8 of the 10 smartest known humans alive, the founders of science, the majority of PhD holders in every field but one (psychology, and even there its off by just 1%).

So don’t flatter yourself. Atheism is an emotion or an attitude, no more intellectually legitimate than saying “I itch”, and it is false.

Therefore silly, trite little statements like “life is futile” are also false.

Let’s enjoy the music for the emotion behind it, not pretend we are smarter and validated because if it. Dan Barret is not a professional academic philosopher. Most professional academic philosophers in Philosophy of Religion (the branch that deals with theism/atheism, existentialism and nihilism, and on) are overwhelmingly Christians.

Deal with it and quit pretending you believe anything based off of rigorous study. It’s just all feels, bro.

Atheism is garbage. Life is meaningful. And we are largely too shit-headed to realize this, so we just believe what we want.

    S.... M....

Everything is shit. That's the truth.

    S.... M....

Happy atheists exist as do depressed religious people. It’s not lack of meaning that hurts so much as being pounded over the head with whatever the majority at large decide is supposed to provide purpose but for whatever reason doesn’t. Everyone is different.

    Fuck, I love it.

  10. J.... M....

I hope people who have never had depression never get to experience what this absolute living nightmare is like.

    J.... M....

The doomer meme generation already lives this.

    J.... M....

I hope they do so they can see what kind of a pandora's box they've opened. So they can really have a reason to bitch and no longer have to fake it to feel it.

    J.... M....

...but without depression and hopelessness we wouldn't have music like this. Like being wrapped in fuzzy blanket and dying away into the void.

    J.... M....

I think that being happy all the time isn't a healthy state of mind, just as experiencing grief and unhappiness all the time. The key to a stable mindset is accepting Depression as something that never truly leaves, but as something you can control. It comes and goes. Just as your happiness comes, stays, and goes before returning again.

    J.... M....

I'm autistic (aspergers) started speaking at 7. My whole life I struggled with education and always felt dumb and worthless. Now I'm in college. I'm doing good but having trouble in geology. Most likely have to change majors to environmental science. Not a big deal but this class I'm gonna most likely fail has made me depressed latley.

This is amazing. I love how the vocals aren't in the front, but rather the back of the composition.
It gives it that gloomy, chanting-type sound.
I can enjoy blasting this because there aren't a lot of sharp tones (like a prominent snare drum) that gives that piercing feeling when it is too loud. This is perfect

I fucking love this album. It's my introduction, so I'm not clouded by anything they've done before this. It's original, mournful, and beautifully sad. I think if depeche mode and the cure had an industrial baby, this is what it would sound like

Musically this band are superb. The vocals are just not doing it for me.

For example. Smashing pumpkins wrote some amazing songs. But corgans vocals stopped them realising their true potential same applies here.

People need to understand that they couldn't just copy the sound of DeathCon. What would be the point of that? It would just be more of the same. They're trying a bit of a different sound, and they pull it off very well. They should be commended. That said, there is only one and there will only ever be ONE DeathCon.

I must have listened to 5-6 new tracks so far. My impression: they lost it. These songs all lack the melodies, the riffs, the intensity and the charm that made Deathconsciousness special. Shame. Thanks for the upload.

    F.... P....

    @tankatan
By the way Voids is my favorite, get on my level.

    F.... P....

I don't think they lost it, I just think Deathconsciousness made expectations overly hyped. People seem to not realize that Dan and Tim spent YEARS and YEARS writing stuff for Deathconsciousness. The Unnatural World had a lot less time to be developed.

    F.... P....

Fabio Patanè 5 years late, but from what I’ve read about the critiques of this record, I’m assuming everyone feels the same way about Sea of Worry. I love Hanl, but that record was such a let down
