wow, I cried when I heard this song for the first time just now. Beth, it was like u reached into my heart and translated my emotions into song. Thank u for allowing us the honor of sharing a piece your heart & soul, pain & passion. Maybe it's selfish to want to know others have felt this way...idk...but I do know I desperately needed to hear this & needed to know that other people have felt this too & survived. OK, give God credit where it is due, but don't lose sight of the fact that it is the individual who does the hard work! It's the addict working to learn how to change and grow. I have NEVER met a true addict who simply received a BAM from God and stopped. A nudge from God, and then years of hard work. Faith void works is dead, dead, dead. To me this song this song could be interpreted to be about having been "at the bottom" for so long in a dark place in your life and finally getting out and into the light not knowing how she "made it here." Kind of like looking back on the pain and not being able to comprehend how you got out of it.

"i think this is not a religious song." YOU think...how can you be so pretentious as to tell us what to think this song is about? And then have the nerve to show your frustration at the end of your shallow comment? Personal experiences, knowledge, state of mind, etc is what makes a song "talk" to us on a personal level. This song could be religious to some, uplifting, conquering, sad, motivational, tolerating, etc, etc to many others. PEACE AND LOVE? May want to add tolerance to your tag name.

Like any good song, it has the meaning the artist intended, while remaining open to the interpretations of those who hear it. It is one of those songs that can fit almost ANY person's inner struggles, and hold the light for them to find their way out. My brother called this song "uplifting", for me it was exactly the opposite when I first heard it, but now I can see his point.
