I am thinking of George Harrison today. This Bob Dylan song came from a period when the two artists were interacting a lot. With the recent breakup of The Beatles this connection must have come at just the right time for George. The seeds were sown for The Traveling Wilburys.

I've always been hung about George's rendition of this song and Olivia Newton-John's version. But that's the beauty of 1970's rock.

Another song my mom absolutely loved -- happy memories riding around with her on sunny days in the early/mid 70's, when I was too young to yet grasp how complicated and often cold the world is.

This song was played over the wedding Scenes of the movie "The Art of Racing in the Rain"...… I had forgotten what a great song it is!

The Beatles all complimented one another. I look at George and think of the glue that kept everyone in check. His Indian music was less than spectacular but he matured and wrote beautiful music later.

George was so good. As a Beatle, he played a secondary. role for awhile. When he began to compose and sing his songs, he began to emerge as a serious artist. And then look what he produced. Nice tribute song to my wonderful friend, Mr Smokey Robinson.

Oh George...I sure do miss you...

An amazing woman sent me this song. Her name is Alicia. She is the kindest, gentlest, most beautiful soul I ever met. I did not know that people like her even exist. The funny thing is that this song is kind of how I feel about her. I've had a rough life. I almost died a couple times. I've been so depressed that I couldn't leave the house. I tried to kill myself. I thought that I would never find someone to love and that I would be alone forever. I felt unlovable. But then I made a few good choices by chance. Something guided me into her presence.

I just want to tell the people out there that feel hopeless, that you just need to make it one more day. It's a cliche, but it's true. You need to have hope that one day soon your life will change. Because without hope I wouldn't be here and I would never have met her. I'm telling you that love is real and anything you feel right now that would suggest otherwise is just your head messing with you. Trust me. I've been on both sides of the fence. Your day will come soon. I promise. Just hang in there and have hope. Happiness is just around the corner.

Some of my fave songs that were etched in far back in my mind from my 70's youth I later found out were George Harrison songs. Thanks you tube for spanning to the past. I swear I could remember music from the days before I walked, sounds possible if it has a psychological soothing connection.
