Random thought: George started performing live on a regular--grueling, really--basis when he was 17 years old, and yet he said he *still* got nervous for shows, even in the 80s, when he had been performing for 30 years (albeit on a much rarer basis after the Beatles stopped touring)! Makes me feel a little better about being almost totally unable to play guitar in front of more than 3-4 people. My fingers literally shake so much that I can't physically play. XD

I was 17 when the album "Cloud Nine" came out. It was the first one I bought with my own money (on vinyl!) and I listened to it so much. I heard "Got my mind set on you" on the radio and went to get the record right away. Now I don't even have a turntable to listen to it! :)

What I like about Eric Clapton is he never tried to show up George. He actually liked being a backup player. Something that probably sat well with George. I see why that was one of the reason's they got along so good. Apart from them being Husband in laws.

I would think it's great fun for EC to just be in the background and add solo's and fills like this. Lord knows he's had his share of the spotlight.

@Anthony Pecora. Yes, he has had his share, that's for sure. I know he gave George his Red Gibson Les Paul, which George kept in his collection. Quite the guy to do that since he did love that guitar but he loved Georges friendship way more than a guitar. He also bought Jimi Hendrix a left handed Stratocaster for his birthday but Jimi died before he could give it to him. Classy guy. I heard that Clapton never really liked being a front-man & it took years before he felt ok with using his name, hence Derick & the Dominoes.

Devil's Radio issued on Cloud Nine is a futuristic song about what it was, what it is and what is going to be the gossip around the planet. Very important song written by George which make us meditate about Evil and Good. Thank you, George. Love you forever..! And thanks to all those great performers joining him in this magnificent Tour in Japan..! George will never die; I'm sure he's still on at the Heavenly Musicians' Organization (HMO)...

Why is this entire concert not out on Blu-ray?

I think Dhani and Oblivia are just lazy. People get on Yoko's case for what she's does with John's stuff, but at least she puts stuff out. Other than two box sets (with nothing new on them), A new concert for George set (not needed if you have the original), they have done very little. (Early Takes was good, but too short)

You don't know that for sure. For one, Dhani has his own musical career. Why should he spend all his time remastering and releasing his father's music, when we already have so much George stuff? And I say this as someone who adores George. You also don't know what George's wishes were. I'm sure he wrote it all down in his will. Maybe he only wanted certain things released.

I love this song. It is the truth. Gossiping can do so much damage. It can ruin lives., especially if it isn't true. George is so cool to write a song about it. I am still jealous of that blond flirting with my true love.

Fortunately, I had the opportunity to to see him perform on three occasions: with The Beatles at DC Stadium; then, at both concerts For the People of Bangaladesh.
What a beautiful Spirit! I was blessed to see George Harrison perform live on three momentous occasions. The absolute thrill of my life!

I was privileged to attend three of George Harrison's concerts: with The Beatles at DC Stadium, and both Concerts for the People of Bangaladesh. The biggest thrills of my life! Especially after George became a solo musician. The man is an awesome Spirit! Too bad that more of mankind is not more like Harrison.

The Beatles used a lot of 3 part harmony. You take George's voice out of the mix...who blended in perfectly with his baritone to John and Paul...and you have a huge missing part. Listen carefully to HELP! next time you hear it on the radio. That is not Paul singing the counter lead to John's vocal. it's George...with that distinctive, Beatles voice. Listen to Because off Abbey Road...that lovely, lush 3 part harmony would not be the same without George's vocal. Class dismissed. Make sure to do your homework, sweetie.

In your opinion. I love both, but Clapton is the man. It was a bit embarrassing at these shows when EC got a much more rousing welcome than George. Eric talked George into doing these shows, because he wanted to see him play in front of an audience again, and his band was well rehearsed and ready.

Michael Kaylor Eric no matter who he’s playing with then and now always gets the loudest cheers so it’s really not a reflection on whoever he’s playing with it’s just that he’s that revered even by his peers. Not to mention he’s the only 3 time RnR HOF inductee whatever that’s worth.

From what I've read, the only footage they have is what was displayed on the big screen at the concerts. I'd be completely happy with that! But that's why they've only released videos for 4-5 songs.
