Hanson - Strong Enough To Break Lyrics

I don't feel myself today
Just a figure in a big monopoly game
Struggle is the price you pay
You get just enough just to give it away
I'm sinking but I'm floating away
Throw me a line so I can anchor my pain
The fabric is about to fray
The fabric is about to fray

Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately

Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Oh, I start feeling I'm strong enough to break

Been running through my mind today
Scenarios to add to your hypocrisy
No one ever takes the blame
But everyone is searching for a cure to the pain
Nothing ever seems to change
Oh, nothing ever seems to change
We just play like broken records in a deaf man's charade

Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately

Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Oh, I start feeling I'm strong enough to break

Carry on just a pawn and the same old song
I'm still holding on

The fabric is about to fray

Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately

Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Oh, I start feeling I'm strong enough to break

3:52 to 4:00 defined what this entire documentary is about and the reason they became indie.

  2. i.... ....

I read an article (link below) where island def jam really wanted them to do do solo projects after This Time Around, but they refused. Could be another reason, out of the many, why idj gave them a hard time. (https://theinterrobang.com/the-hanson-brothers-talk-serious-music/)

Thanks Hanson. I always find your music at my low points, I sure wish i could see you 3 in Denver on the 8th!! But i put out your flyers!!
I will not regret, I will move forward- Isaac

The opening song is soooo creepy. Watched this many times and it still gets me.

    .... ....

The part that hits me the hardest is 1:28 when suddenly "MMMBop" becomes retroactively prophetic. It's a song about dissolving relationships and not knowing in the end who's really going to have your back and who isn't.

  5. T.... ....

It seems that you guys had it tough returning back to the mainstream music world, I grew up rollerblading to MmmBop withy 2 older brothers as your fans so it's sad to see the big companies will no longer give some great talent another chance.

I was also going to suggest if you guys would consider doing covers of popular music and share with on YouTube and Spotify? For those unable to make mainstream by not doing what the industry expects, covers really show you guys can keep up with what's trending And also show you guys have true talent, please look at artists such as ahmir, Boyce Avenue and anthem lights just as examples, you guys could totally do amazing here

This documentary inspired me to write the song I call "A & R". I have a vision and a goal to write a song with Hanson! How? Well, I've created THE HANSON PROJECT.  A 25 video, musical project that entails 22 original, all Hanson-inspired songs created by me and some other fun musical Hanson stuff. Each has a fun video as well. My hope is that my project will  be loud enough to grab their attention.  That being said, I pulled from the ups & downs, frustration and angst of the band AND as a viewer to create the lyrics and rugged sound for A&R.    Please follow the link in this comment and click on the pic to watch it all from THE HANSON PROJECT! You can also find me on FB (thehansonproject2017), Insta (thehansonproject) and Twitter (@BarbaraAllin - The Hanson Project).  Gracias!    https://youtu.be/6GxY1-bjMaE

"The world is not going to forget, it's not going to go away.. the impact you've made is strong enough!" I just love this quote by Ashley Greyson. celebrating their 25th year as a band get me a little nostalgic! :`) ;) #Hanson25 :P

limor asayas I think it was Stephen Jenkins of 3eb who said it. But either way, I agree with you. I love those words, too. 😊 #HansonStringTheory #HANSON26

Is it weird that this documentary always makes me cry? I don't know why I just get all emotional. I'm such a weirdo.

    l.... ....

I don't think so, this documentary portraits a hard time with Hanson, struggling with big record label companies rejecting them, refusing them. it's in fact a deep documentary and it's hard to be indifferent with their suffering.

  11. Q.... ....

The intro is creepy as fuck.

  12. T.... B....

Anyway to watch/buy this in decent quality?

    T.... B....

Tony, you can buy the DVD on their website, Hanson.net. :)

    Thanks!

I remember seeing this Hanson documentary thinking how it was a given that any artist, especially big selling artist's get's screwed by their record companies.

This remind's of the documentary "Artifact", Jared Leto made of his band 30 Seconds to Mars's battle with their record company. The pressure's of selling out arena's and millions of album's while finding themselves' millions of dollars in debt. And then having the added pressures to make more album's because you are obligated to a contract that is not necessarily fair. The record business is a real illusion of people who want to make your dream's come true, and those you are in it to gain capital.

Any musician's out there looking to get into the business, I recommend you watch these documentaries of artist's who are brave enough to show you what goes on behind the scenes of the gilts and glamour.

  14. S.... K....

I used to think that it must be kinda an act that they get along so well. lol Over time I've realized, that it's not. Just more of a reason for me to admire them.

  53. D.... B....

I'm from South Africa, you came here for your last album, but no-one knew. We mostly remember you from Mmm-bop. I only rediscovered you myself a year ago. I love rock with a firm musical foundation (rhythm, melody, harmony, orchestration, etc.) These videos have touched my heart, and I think you guys ROCK(pardon the pun). Wish we could promote you here. Your music isn't available to us. Love you guys, you have guts. Keep doing and being what you are.

  54. a.... ....

it took me forever to figure that out! yeah it means three car garage:P

  57. S.... ....

Love the messages this documentary shows, and just how real it is. It shows the seedy underbelly of the record companies today. And just how convoluted the music industry can really get.

  59. R.... ....

i love this! hahah! "hey zac, you're really aggressive." hahaha! loveli!

    keep on rockin'!

  60. L.... L....

Wow, you guys it's great that you are putting this documentary on youtube as not everyone has ITunes. I hope it means that you will reach a wider audience. I joined ITunes just so I could download the Great Divide and so I could see this documentary and it was definately worth it.

  61. M.... ....

    sigh. <3
