Hank Williams Jr. - All In Alabama Lyrics
I just had to show 'em
I didn't need 'em.
And so I headed out west to see some old friends of mine.
I thought if I'd climb up old Ajax Mountain,
Maybe that would help me get it all off my mind.
I made it up to the top,
Picked out a clear spot,
I thought a whole lot
About the rest of my life.
I had no idea then,
Soon it would nearly end.
Up on this mountainside,
I would nearly die.
And they're all in Alabama.
God, I'm dying here in Montana, please Lord,
I just want to go back to hold her hand.
Just let me get back to my old homeland.
They said I'd never sing again.
I learned a lot about my friends.
'Cause when you're shot down and out,
You don't get many calls.
But I saw some tears in some eyes,
Soon my poor old mother would die,
I nearly lost it all,
When I lost my grandpa.
But you can find us all in Alabama.
Yeah, we're all down in Dixieland.
I didn't die out in Montana, no Lord.
You let me get back to my old homeland,
And I'm gonna hold on to her hand.
I've done a whole lot of searchin'
A whole lot of hurtin'
Before I finally found my road in life.
You gotta say things you wanna say.
Go on and do things your own way.
And you can climb any old mountain
Once you make up your mind.
I made mine in Alabama.
And I found mine down in Dixieland.
I didn't die out in Montana, no Lord.
You let me get back to my old homeland.
And I'm gonna hold on to her hand.

It's not always easy to accept the fact that some folks when you're down and out for get that they traveled the same road !!! I just wonder why . Never give up !!! Thanks.

BOCEPHUS 4 PRESIDENT 2020 !!
I 1st heard this song in 1980 and played it at a concert and everyone was blown away when I told the audience that this song was a Hank Williams Jr. No one didn't know much of him, not anymore.
A blessing in disguise. That fall off the mountain gave us the Bocephus look we all know and love. He wouldn't have went as far without that outlaw look and we all know it. You gotta admit, he looked pretty plain before that... a blessing in disguise. Hat and shades and beard and all
@Johnny Reb I agree. I think he kind of looked like his dad before the accident. After the fall, he really finally had his own identity. Though I am surprised he was not a bigger star before. I loved his early songs. But nothing like the Bocephus of the later 70's and 80's.
Roll Tide Roll
Smoked pounds of pot to this one
Couldn't live without Hank Jr
He is so right. You don't get many calls when you are down and out. But we rise.

Hank Williams Jr is the king of country music
Any goddamn fools that think the Williams are not from Alabama needs their head examined. So forget it Louisiana. The song is not "All in Louisiana"
A timeless album...(This music) Hanks older albums never got stale...

Its sad that the younger generation dont have no respect or even knkw about hank and all country music from the past asked a boy at a bonfire the other night to turn somehank on told me no that no body listens to that cause its old and that people that listen to it aint really country it was the saddest thing I had ever been told made me sick any comments on that
RIP DOVAN MATCHETT my Uncle Johnny love you and miss you.
Alabama is just Mississippi 2.
im from andalusia alabama aint but 16 n know that classic country is the best classic country is a drug once u hear itu want more
I recently had to move away from the Pensacola,Fl/Mobile,Alabama area for a job after living there the first 41 years of my life. Unfortunately there is no place in the world that compares to that region or all of the deep South for that matter. If you are blessed enough to live anywhere in Dixieland don't take it for granted because I have been all across America and I promise the great people, places, food, culture , climate and Southern hospitality are unique and rare. I miss it more than life itself. Hold on to it.
Bocephus for President!
LIVE IN GA BUT LOVE BAMA.
Great song
This is about when he almost died when he fell off the mountain in Alabama and almost died I like Hank but I think Waylon is better
