Hank Williams III - Louisiana Stripes Lyrics

I got the Louisiana Stripes,
and their always chainin' me down
I'm in debt for 99 years for shootin' my wife to the ground

Well she had to love my friend,
and that's not right with me
So I grabbed my gun, shot both in the head and then I threw their ass in the creek

Now I'm doin' my time, in this Louisiana Pen
Thinkin' about maybe bein' free on the day that I'm a dead man

[Instrumental Break]

Well it took some time getting' used to,
being locked in this prison cell
But I always hum those tunes of George Jones to help me through my days of hell
I've done me 25 years,
and that's alright with me
‘Cause I got me a lot of damn good friends in this Louisiana penitentiary

Now I'm doin' my time, in this Louisiana Pen
Thinkin' about maybe bein' free on the day I'll be walkin' to feel
that fire of the Loui-si-an-a Pen-i-ten-tia-ry

[Spanish]

"At 2:59 AM"
"This is Houston calling, we just wanted to say Hello, Hello,
Hi [giggles] Alright goodnight bye"

Hailed by critics as "A True Successor to Folsom Prison Blues" now that's saying something

  56. L.... ....

@MrDeerslayer26 I suppose you've never heard of the Bubonic Plague, huh? The difference is that whites at the time still were intelligent enough to build castles and fortifications around entire cities. Indians never had the intelligence nor will to find effective ways to defend themselves. Diseases or not.

  57. Z.... ....

    @CerealKillerbl Thank you Brother.

  58. C.... ....

@MrBeautifulba1 I can't give you enough thumb ups for this comment.

  59. S.... ....

@Grenadeout Real country, hip-hop, and punk have a lot more in common than one may think.

  60. w.... ....

@OutdoorsMan1775 Agree one hundred percent. His newest cd kind of ate shit for the sound bites of cows. I want a 16 track..straight up acoustic old school country album. He is doing it his own way though, and that's how he pays respect to his grandpa.

  64. M.... T....

George Jones would be proud. As well as them other country outlaws. Fuck this new pop country shit.

  65. C.... C....

    Love this music.

  66. J.... M....

Great song! Got even better with Jesco's flatfooting..

  67. L.... ....

@DixiesBest You obviously didn't get my post and didn't read my previous ones. Far as I am concerned, we would have been better off if every injun had died. Would have saved a lot of money and white lives, that is for sure.

  68. L.... ....

@gringotroller My point is that the "natives" aren't the innocent people everyone always makes them out to be. They slaughtered each other for each others lands and if they had the technology, I guarantee they would have taken over Europe as well. Europe is so overpopulated that the people had to go somewhere. Imagine how Europe would be today without the settlement in North America and without two world wars. There wouldn't be anywhere left to farm and it would be miserable.

  69. g.... ....

@LokiusMaximus Look around man, we do live in a survival-of-the-fittest society, it's just candy-coated as shit, and we don't kill off entire races. I'll kill a motherfucker if he has it coming, but i'm not going to walk up to a cripple and blow him away because my grandma needs a wheelchair. And if by "just get along" you mean not slaughtering an entire race of innocent people for profit, then yeah, maybe we should all "just get along"

  70. L.... ....

@gringotroller I believe in survival of the fittest. The "natives" were not the fittest and thus they lost their lands. Just the same way more fit tribes were killing off more unfit tribes. No nation's borders today, unless they are a brand new nation, are the same as they originally were. They either expand or they decline. It's only in recent days where people believe everyone should just get along. As the world continues to over populate, the idea of survival of the fittest will return.

  71. g.... ....

@LokiusMaximus So you think killing all the natives was alright? There may have been small battles between tribes but thats not comparable to the genocide of an entire race. And I dont think there were all that many vikings, nor were they a race all to their own. But maybe i'm wrong, enlighten me.

  72. L.... ....

Ah, so now you know exactly how pre-historic "Vikings" were, eh? Funny how when you don't like something in history, you just change it. Or, you say "well, it may have happened. But they were dickheads anyways." I wonder how many various indian tribes were annihilated by other indian tribes long before the white man came in numbers. We will never know, but I am willing to bet 100s of tiny tribes (hence the reason their population never boomed).

  73. g.... ....

@LokiusMaximus Nah, that shit never happened. They may have killed a couple boat-loads of vikings, but vikings we're dickheads anyway.

  74. L.... ....

@gringotroller Actually, plenty have. The main difference is that those nationalities lost 100% of their race. For example, there were early Europeans who had settled in North America long before Columbus ever arrived. Those people no longer exist. Most likely killed off by the "nationality" that lost 95% of its race.

  75. g.... ....

@LokiusMaximus Not many nationalities have lost 95% of their race, either

  76. j.... h....

like hank jr a bit better...but this is real country

  77. b.... ....

    your tha fucken man hank

  78. 4.... ....

@sglasspool hank 111 can take you places..............in this life there are things, there are also things that are somthing else. hank here is somthing else

  79. B.... W....

@LokiusMaximus you do realize that i couldn't give two shits don't you? i was just being a smart ass and you took it seriously. i have enough problems without worrying if somebody else was wronged long before my time. so, with that said, wanna make out?

  80. L.... ....

@colemanpike You do realize that indian tribes were doing the same things to each other that we did to them before we arrived, don't you? Do you really believe they wouldn't have invaded Europe if they'd had the technology to do so? Stop whining about the indians losing "their" land. Not a single nation existing today, that has been around for a good amount of time, has it's original borders.

  81. Z.... ....

@cew1965 I just want to get rid of the ugly stripmall hell thats covered what used to be beautiful and free.

  82. C.... W....

@MrBeautifulba1 Then we tae it back from them and we can keep going through the cycle, that'd be pretty okay.

  83. Z.... ....

    @colemanpike Exactly !!

  84. B.... W....

@MrBeautifulba1 You mean give all the land back to the Native Americans? It was their's first.

  85. T.... T....

@rd6659 and your just plain retarded

  86. C.... H....

Ol Jesco holdin down the rhythm section

  87. a.... ....

    @sunzsu thats just truth

  88. Z.... ....

This song makes me want to make napalm out of some barbie plastic and high octane fuel and ignite it across every walmart and stripmall in the world. I say resurrect the wild open freedom of Texas and awaken your inner Samurai and take back the land from the false beings within... but first let me get another beer.

  89. M.... M....

@6millionlies14 Yeah, man, lol, we're cool! Didn't mean to be a dick, sorry. Job's been stressful here, didn't mean to take it out on ya. Yeah, we're cool, buddy.

  90. B.... Q....

is that jesco white in the back ground because it sounds like him tapping

  91. J.... M....

the beginning reminds me of 3 shades of black

  92. K.... B....

The tapping in the background is jesco white

  93. h.... ....

not much on the video but i like the song

  94. M.... M....

@rd6659 Agreed, bud. I done time, wore my stripes (and orange later) and been through hell and back rottin' in a cell alone. I have been stabbed, shot and beaten to a pulp, betrayed by my family, friends, etc... but doing time was the hardest thing I ever done in my life. There is no greater despair then losing your freedom and being locked up 24 hours a day.

  95. B.... T....

    @Laynerzk its called carter style.

  96. L.... K....

Does anyone know what the picking style is called on this song? I love it but can't figure it out lol

  97. C.... ....

Like the song, the visuals though aren't from La..Texas maybe. Nice job friend.

  98. s.... ....

    Thats Johnny Cash you tard.......LOL
