Hank Williams - I'm Satisfied With You Lyrics

You don't dress up in satin,
You don't wear diamond rings,
But I'm satisfied with you.
You look just like an angel but you haven't got wings,
But I'm satisfied with you.

I'd rather have you just the way that you are
Than change you for somebody new.
Maybe I could do better if I reached for a star,
But I'm satisfied with you.

You're not made out of candy
But you're as sweet as you can be
So I'm satisfied with you.
I just can't see no reason why you bother with me,
But I'm satisfied with you.

I often wonder if it's all a mistake;
It's hard to believe that it's true.
But If I'm only dreaming, I sure don't want to wake,
'Cause I'm satisfied with you.

I'm satisfied with you.

Hank Williams I'm Satisfied With You Comments

    You settled.

His birth certificate says, "Hiram Williams" with no mention of "King" as a middle name. In fact, his first name was spelled wrong as "Hiriam", and what's more, he wasn't even registered until he was 10 years old! I don't know where this "King" bit comes from, but it was never an official part of Hank's name. You can see a facsimile of his birth certificate here, at the bottom of the page: http://hpcisp.com/~turp/birthcertificate.html

A great Fred Rose swing song. Hank and the Drifting Cowboys (I assume they are Jerry Rivers, fiddle; Don Helms steel; Sammy Pruett lead guitar : and Howard Watts Bass , but I could be mistaken) do a great job, backing up ol' Hank.

though this was released posthumously in 1954 the recording dates to 1947 and the musicians are Tommy Jackson, or possibly L.C. Crysel (fiddle) Herman Herron (steel) Sammy Pruett (lead gtr) Slim Thomas (rhythm gtr) and Lum York (bass). Hank used a lot of different musicians on these early sides.

Thx and a tip of the Stetson for that info. A few questions. Are you from the Pennines yourself? Are you a piper? Northumbrian small pipes? Warpipes? Anyway, cheers from North of Boston MA USA.

    M.... ....

yes , and yes I do play pipes - Border pipes and smallpipes. Fiddle too, a lot of northern English stuff but also older styles of Country: Jerry Rivers is one of my big heroes!

Hah! Just as I suspected :) Well met. I love all kinds of Irish and UK stuff. I'm a singer guitarist fiddler mandolin, banjo, etc, etc. Big fan of Hank and Jerry Rivers. I play (USA) country, Irish, Scottish and the blues. Plus whatever else I can get my ears around. It's been a long, fun and rewarding journey so far. Cheers.

I remember when Hank died, there were songs being released after hank's death in 1953 and one was "Your Cheatin' Heart" and the other was "I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive". I haven't heard this one until now and I've seen Hank twice in my life. Love the song.
