I think that was the approach, to give that out of focus feel. But then again idk. But with the album cover being a creature walking through a barren desert and then a meadow its probably intentional.

I agree. Plus the instrumental portion of their songs seem to always over power the lyrics, which makes it hard to understand what the lead singer says. Might just be me but idk.

As much as it does sound like Pounce Bounce, this song was written a long time ago, you can find an acoustic video of it dating from before Downtown Battle Mountain 2 came out. The two bands just had similar ideas, both good.
