This song is about everything around you being a slipper slope to negativity. it's like no matter the situation, someone says something wrong, someone's offended or something just HAPPENS. So much that we would rather be left alone. Why is it that every encounter leaves YOU looking like the guilty one or YOU being the aashole? It's not bad music necessarily, have you considered that perhaps you just don't appreciate it? Just like I like really deep house unlike teenagers of my age but don't like the really heavy metal they like. That doesn't mean that the metal is bad, I just don't get it. Hence, we all have our personal tastes in music that are flawless in reality. Music is like art. You either get it or don't. A monochrome with lots of shades of white on a white canvas is my favourite piece of art to look at because I can take time to think more deeply and thoroughly about everything I'm seeing - so what? If you don't appreciate those subtle nuances and see the beauty in it, that's fine, in fact, normal. You listen to what you like and I'll meet you on the other side. There's no right and wrong as far as making music goes. Just audiences.

Love the drums in this song. Really wish they play this at Warped but I don't think they will.

The drums on basically every song on the first two albums, except the soft songs (Definition of Not-Leaving, Oceandust), are insane. Dude's a master. Not to throw the rest of the band under the bus, but Matt P. is the obvious standout. Trent too, but the musicians can definitely pick it out. Plus the way the songs are mixed definitely play the drums up too.

I CAN'T WAIT to see them at Warped this year. They deserve so much more recognition than they get. And you got to love that they they all have mustaches, I mean come on.

2. ian garner said that sammie was not allowed to listen to this band because she is not a christian.

4. I made a point that someone's beliefs should have no effect on what type of music they can listen to. It's only up to the individual.

so glad i gave these guys a chance. when Rise uploaded "Antarctica" i was like, "they're okay but not my thing" but when Rise uploaded the music video for "This Ain't No Place For Animals" I decided to give them another shot, and I was really amazed. I regret not liking them sooner. Hands Like Houses is A-FUCKING-MAZING!!!
