Hammond, Albert - The Air That I Breathe Lyrics
If I could make a wish
I think, I pass
Can't think of anything I need
No cigarettes, no sleep
No lights, no sound
Making love with you
Has left me peaceful, warm and tired
What more can I ask
There's nothing left to be desired
Peace came upon me
And it leaves me weak
Sleep, silent angel, go to sleep
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes, to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Peace came upon me
And it leaves me weak
Sleep, silent angel, go to sleep
Sometimes all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes, to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Peace came upon me
And it leaves me weak
Sleep, silent angel, go to sleep

Não acho parecida com Creep.
Oh wow ...there you go ! Im in my fifties .i didn't know bert Hammond co-wrote this song ." Which proves the adage your never too old to learn something .Ps Berts original is a great piece too .
Just a ad on maybe ? And I say maybe the guy from the hollies has a bit stronger voice when singing their cover .
Next I guess they'll be suing each other over 12 bar blues.
Wow hermosa melodía ❤️

All We Need Is Love
Same song as creap by radiohead, exept the chorus!
I don't understand... this son is of Albert or of the hollies?
This is is quite simply one of best ever songs.. All versions and the copies.. I'm sure Paul macca wishes he wrote it too.. So so happy to hear this every time
This is very nice but the hollies take it to another level,
LYRICS:

Olivia Newton John also recorded this song, her’s is sweet and tranquil
who the fuck did lana del rey sucked cock on to copy this song freely?
Music lives inside all of us and will never die like a phoenix it is constantly reborn...
This man also played rhythm guitar for the garage rock band “The Strokes”. Always reinvented himself. 👍
DonVal86 haha this is actually his father. Albert Hammond JR is the one that plays in the strokes :)
Creep sounds more like this version than the Hollies version
I'm hearing abba
Wow! Had no idea this was a Hollies cover. I like this version.
Yep. He wrote it, The Hollies covered it.
I was working for 'MUMS ' Records where Albert was a client ( Landers & Roberts Productions). I picked Albert up at LAX around Midnight who flew in from NYC where he recorded this album) and we went straight to our offices and played the LP. Hal, Bobby, Albert and myself sat and listened and we freaked it was all soo good!!! Another song was 99 miles from L.A.. Albert was a really cool and talented artist. Liked his style...Miss those days..
This is a lovely rendition,, Albert Co wrote the song with Mike Hazelwood,.. The Hollies made a superb cover which is the standard for this song, and gave them a massive hit.
It's great to hear Albert's version again.
This original version has a Beatles vibe to it... interesting.
Who inspired who? Lol The Hollies, creep or this guy?
Albert wrote and recorded this tune..I was there and 1 of the first to hear it when he arrived back from NY..
Mejor es la version de the
hollies

I want a perfect soul!
sorry, Al, baby, glad this great song was passed on to better interpretations
Better than the Radiohead cover - Creep as well
Amazing someone can pull a timeless song out of the air like this
His son sings so similar to him
Funny how some songs are 1-st recorded by an Artist than made Famous or a Hit by another Artist always has been that way- Crazy...
This is my favourite version for 40 odd years.❤
I prefer Get Free of Lana Del Rey ❤️
“Seeking a Friend for the End of the World”
The Phil Everly version is my favorite ... check it out sometime
I love Radiohead, but it's no reason to think it's a copy.
Beatlesesqe to say the least man but a great song.
I loved this version the third time I heard it - the magic didn't happen on first listen.

I prefer the Jorge Gonzalez version. <3 XD
Sorry, I prefer The Hollies.
Radiohead thief...
That is real poetry
Oh God this is AWFUL. Thank heavens The Hollies did it right. The Hollies version is WAY BETTER. This version by Hammond is really really bad. He sings like he's half in the bag, what's up w/ that??? Whereas Allan Clark of the Hollies did it JUSTICE because it's a beautiful song. Hammond on the other hand can't sing this song worth a darn.
He wrote the song you cretin if he did not write the song the hollies wouldn't have hit
The level of energy is on purpose. Have you ever been lovesick?
I love the Hollies version!
Domeass...he wrote the song.....
Creep de Radiohead : PLAGGIO
Get Free de Lana del Rey: PLAGGIO DI PLAGGIO
This being the original version of this song from an artistic perspective I think is the best. I absolutely love Radiohead and this comment does not diminish from there Shear genius , none the less I stand by the original composer being Albert Hammond. It's a matter of musicality. His version has an emotional quality to it that only the composer could Translate. I cite as an example of case in point "Without You" as performed originally by Badfinger as opposed to the Harry Nelson or Mariah Carey versions.
This version is the best
last part sounds more like the drum fill for you got to carry that weight by the beatles. the feeling of the arrangements in that part is very second side of abbey road. plus yes the melody, the first lines in particular, sound like creep by radiohead. don't know about lana del rey.
Sounds nothing like creep

Thanks You very Much.
try k.d . lang's version, trust me on this
The creep brought me here
Linda, linda, adorei!
I never knew! Boy, do I feel dumb. This is beautiful.
I hear a little bit of "Room Full of Roses" (1949) popularized by Sons of the Pioneers. Maybe I'm stretching it a bit but either way this is a great song.
Albert thought the best version was Phil Everly's. Thje Hollies we inspired by Phil's recording and recorded the song the day after listening to Phil's.
I have to say, this is better than the Hollies cover. Creep does have its place though. While it may be derivative of this, Creep is a masterpiece in its own right, in my opinion. Lana Del Rey though has no slack. I really don't like her or her music though.
So, when is he suing the lot?
What a great song. I prefer the Simply Red version, personally.
purely superb!
wow i'm SO confused right now lol. been through the hollies/radiohead/lana thing for the last 24 hours
You Were Never Really Here
Albert Hammond was also successfully sued by Leonard Cohen for ripping off Famous Blue Raincoat in his song When I Need You. So Leonard sues Albert who sues radiohead who sue Lana Del Ray. Where will this end?
mick hazelwood s family still get royaltys
I love The Hollies version, but this is GREAT! I need this album!!
cause i'm a cr... oups
I prefer the strokes version
Radiheads creep
I was just on facebook when I found out about radiohead suing Lana Del Rey and then I end up here discovering this amazing song, how lucky can a man be?
Fuck The Hollies, Fuck Radiohead, and Fuck Lana Del Rey ...Albert Hammond deserves all these people's money!
Se copió de Lana del Rey!! :O
Albert Hammond or The Hollies? Chocolate or coffee? It's impossible to choose.

@V de Birras nailed it. All plagiarists and Elvis didn't even write that song.
Hammond is Lana Del Rey's biological father.
Lana del Rey-Get Free sampled Radiohead-Creep which turn samples Albert Hammond-The air that I breathe
Si tom demanda a lana , este deberia demandar a tom jaja
joel cn si los demandaron y radiohead tuvo que compartir la mayoria de lasregalías que se ganaron por eso tom creo que esta tan centrado en la demanda
can't believe he copied Lana's get free :(
Hahahaha good one
nO hE dIdnT CauSE LanAs SonG is NeWeRR
Ofri Str you are certainly the dumbest person on youtube
@Sina Muscarina ironic you call him dumb when you're too stupid to understand a simple joke. :(
Some idiots will read this and thinks its real. Its why this comment is a defence of Lana work
The Hollies version is a big improvement over this.
Albert Hammond (whoever he is) is an asshole for ripping off Lana Del Ray
So... shouldn't Albert Hammond be the one suing Lana del Rey?
Lig - where did you get that from ?
I'm a creep

The air that i breathe (originall) > TATIB (the hollies) > creep (radiohead) > get free (lana del rey)
just a joke, i love all of this songs
Albert, Radiohead and Lana del Ray want their songs back. Hah! What a great, simple song he created.
N 4 Nazarene Don’t forgot Sam Smith.
how dare he copy Radiohead so blatantly?
Beautiful song. Hammond is such a talented singer.
Duane Eddy produced the Phil Everly solo album "Star Spangled Springer" in 1973 and chose this track as the first one on the album. Duane tried to get RCA to issue it as a single, but RCA would not listen. The Hollies heard Phil's version, were amazed to discover that RCA had not issued it as a 45, so rushed out their version. RCA belatedly recognised their error and did finally release the track as a single in many countries but by then it was too late.
Amazing inspiration!!!!! What a writer and composer!
It will always be HIS song.
FRANKLY HE SUUUCCCKKKSSS! In comparison to Radiohead!
creep plagiarism, very creep
two versions are incredible but the firts release was more organic but both songs the hollies and albert hammond achieve the feeling and touch your heart in different ways perhaps albert hammond never tought that one day his song could be so famous single like the hollies cover obviously tom york from RADIOHEAD TAKED OR COPIED THE PHRASING and made another song almost the same so that is a separate story long life albert hammond see you friends and dont forget your comments now im going to listen to NATIONAL HEALTH some canterbury rock RULEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS
q lindo q explota a los 2:30!!!! temazo...
Have listened to The Hollies singing this many times and also love the C D Lang version BUT Albert's own version is by far the best. Saw him in concert in London this week. He is just the best.
Sorry, Everly Brothers recorded it years before.
Actually it was recorded on a solo album by Phil - produced by Duane Eddy, without Don
Albert Hammond said clearly in a talk radio show: Creep by Radio Head was created in part using The air that I breathe and that it was affirmed by Radio Head in flesh
Radiohead used the melody line of the verses 'The Air' in their bridge. The chords, though similar, are not exactly the same. While they consist of the same chords, Hammond's version leads back to the tonic on the 8th bar of the sequence, making the two preceding chords last shorter than they do in Creep, creating a different vibe(as ending a sequence with the tonic, especially by using major to minor subdominants before, creates a stronger feeling of resolution). In the court of law, these are not huge differences and Radiohead also admitted to being inspired by 'The Air', so this is not to disprove similarity, necessarily, but instances like these make me question the Copyright Act and whether or not it might be in need of some revision, as Radiohead, at the end of the day, ended up with a very different, and also original, song. Plagiarism should never be acceptable, of course, but maybe it's due time to re-establish what is -and what isn't plagiarism? The laws are also very ambiguous of this, leaving the individual courts to decide with very little precedent to go off of. At the end of the day, this is the type of shit that creates cases like Thicke vs Gaye, for instance. Then again, what the fuck do I know
that being said, shoutouts to Hammond though, good song, and from what I've read he was very chill about that whole Radiohead case
Thick vs Gay
GREAT SONG. I THINK I LIKE THE HOLLIES VERSION BETTER.
