Great job.  My Dad always sung this song around the house.  Only recently i realized it was Tom t Hall whom he is also a fan of.    I have to learn it.   One small pet peeve though.  Why the "friends" cast?    I know.  You're lady must be a fan, ok.   It's out of sink with your creativity on this video though.  No suggestions; you got this.  Good job.

Am I missing something? I know that a longer version of this song exists, with lyrics that mention "Bourbon in a glass, and grass". As a kid, I used to laugh, because I always thought he was saying "BURPIN' in a glass"! Lol!

I work at Culver duck farm. We hatch 3 to 4 days a week. Over 100,000 ducks a week. I love picking them up. They just want a friend.

my grandpa showed me this song when I was about six. I was extremely close with him, a lot more so than my grandparents on my mom's side. he died of a rare type of cancer in his intestines in 2017. I will miss him for ever and this song reminds me of him so much. sometimes I just listen to this song on repeat and think about him. I will never forget 6 year old me sitting with him in that office at the car lot, listening to this song on the computer (watching this specific video). This is a true nostalgia factor for me.

I'm 62, and remember hearing this song when I was much younger. But instead of the line about "old TV shows and snow," I DISTINCTLY remember him singing "bourbon in a glass, and grass". And in fact, if you do a lyric search and type in the words "I love bourbon in a glass," google will supply the words "and grass", so I know it ain't this old mind starting to go. lol Great tune. Hall never really cared about being
much of a singer, but he was a truly gifted songwriter.

My mom just died 12 days ago. She used to sing this song to my siblings, never me, she didn't really have the time for that when I was young. she's had her issues, she wasn't a perfect mom, but she was my mom. Driving home from work today I started singing this song to myself, and just started crying... it's a good song

I was between the ages of 3 and 5 when I first heard this song. When he said, "And I love you, too" I honestly thought he was saying it to me. It was the first time I ever heard anyone say that to me and I started crying.
