Half Moon Run - Give Up Lyrics
I just wanted
To resolve it
To make peace with
All those weekends
We all stand down
With no lesson learned
With our eyes half shut
No confusion
It's been obvious
Hallelujah
I've been saved by no one again, and again
But we all just give up
With no lesson learned
With our eyes half shut

Half Moon Run Give Up Comments
One minor nitpick about this song. I reckon it would've been a lot more powerful if the guitar/bass line came in before the percussion at the beginning.
Orbus XV Right? I thought so too.
Radiohead? Just listen to this one https://youtu.be/gV4j105Cztw . Pretty interesting, just same tuning. Anyways no offense, I love them.
Words can’t describe how much I love this song
O.o JEFF BUCKLEY?????? IS THAT U
Devon Portiejle, I'm afraid.
So Good
Mooonnntreaaaaaaaalll !
@ Catsby sorry it's far deeper, "richer", less "accessible" and "mainstream"...I respect Coldplay but in a musical point of view there is no comparison to me...
Moun light lololol right? That reference almost made me choke.
Damn, reminds me of Coldplay's old age
I like Half Moon Run, but no way is this better than Reckoner
Nothing is better than Reckoner
Arôme de Daniel Bélanger.
Radiohead-Reckoner
Thx forgot that song totally, gonna listen to it right now !
love their album but most of the notes are exactly the same as reckoner its pretty much the same riff... good anyway :S

Better than Reckoner by Radiohead imho. A clearer statement. A better structure and more interesting sounding chords and chord changes. And stronger vocals - it's like Jeff Buckley sings a Radiohead song. Nice!
At least you recognise that they're different songs... but no, Reckoner is better.
you can really hear the Radiohead influence, sounds so much like 'Radiohead - Reckoner' !
I'd rather call it robbery than influence
@maria dostalova Dude, they're very different songs. Using a similar-sounding guitar line doesn't mean plagiarism.
@Orbus XV It is not just similar sounding quitar line, it is the same harmonical movement. how about the battery pattern? I think its obvious from the very first bars, apparently I am not the only one who noticed.<
@maria dostalova Have you actually listened to Reckoner? They're very different songs. They're even about different things. The drums are similar, but the one in Give Up has no cymbal use. The guitar is similar, but Give Up's constantly jumps from fifth to fifth, while Reckoner stays in the same range. Finally, do Thom Yorke and Devon Portiejle sound anything alike in both their octave range and also the movement of the melody. This barely scratches the surface of differences between the songs, so I think it's blatantly unfair to accuse Half Moon Run of plagiarising Radiohead, when all they did was take aspects of one song and implemented it into another with their own unique flavour.
radiohead much?
@ryanforeally There is no denying the influence of Radiohead. If you read about them, you know that Radiohead is a band that openly admit is an influence. Half Moon Run takes a more organic approach to their music though, IMO.
@Stephan Marinovic I mean I knew Radiohead forever but this song just resonates deeper.

i can relate after hearing house of cards by radiohead, the studio version
Was just thinking the exact thing. Sounds a lot like paranoid android by Radiohead. But I like this type of music so I’m not complaining
