That's Einar Solberg from Leprous, and in my opinion he is currently one of the best singers to do just that, listen to Slave by Leprous live and then give that part a second listen

I don't know what it is, but the riffs starting at 14:53 give me chills every time I hear it and can even bring me to tears. I had tears running down my face when I saw them live for the first time during this section. One of the greatest moments of my life.

On this song, I can hear Dream Theaters Dance of Eternity, Periphery's Omega, Opeth's The Drappery Falls, Porcupine Tree's Blackest Eyes, Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Seventh Wonder's Taint the Sky, and Tesseract's Messenger, and Wolverine's Pulse, and Between the Buried and Me's Turn on the Darkness. 😁

All Haken songs are good. There are very few bands this can be said about.

This is my new song to play while I'm programming so hard and I need to be concentrated

I love how they go back to the main theme from "Initiate" at the very end of this song.

The first time I listened "The Architect", I didn't listen "Initiate" first. So I just find it, a little dramatic but very nice in the way of the track.
When I then begin to listen the debut of the Affinity album and though the main theme, I was like "oh damn ! What a cool link !"

You'll also hear a bit of 1985 and The Endless Knot in there.

Lyrically, it's the most important part, and serves to vent the narrators frustrations. It's poetically perfect.

lol its exposure...NSP got a big bump from game grumps. doesn't mean that game grumps made them awesome. they just brought some lights down on the awesomeness so its seen by a wider audience. if the band was shit it wouldn't matter who pointed it out. but as it stands its in my favorite playlist right now.

Be happy that there are more Haken fans in the world, they could have chose Cardi B instead

I think mainstream music is popular because it's easier.

Mainstream music is mainstream because they are all the same, literally, same chord progressions and bpm's, all in the name of familiarity so we "know" the songs, which is why nowadays mainstream music is disposable/replaceable, its all the same in the name of sales. Also mainstream music is more danceable. If we want good music we're gonna have to look for it; it kinda makes it worth it when you discover your new favourite band out of all the mediocrity out there.
