Haggard, Merle - The Worst Is Yet To Come Lyrics
Such a little time has passed since you went away
Where are all these heartaches coming from
I can hardly stand the pain of missing you today
And I know the worst is yet to come
Then I'd go right out and get me one
I've already cried enough to fill the deep blue sea
And I know the worst is yet to come
There'll be all those sleepless nights when I'll just lay and cry
And the hours seem to have no end
There'll be days when it won't matter if I live or die
Wishing I could have you back again
If there was something I could find to drive these tears from me
I've already cried enough to fill the deep blue sea
And I know the worst is yet to come

Haggard, Merle The Worst Is Yet To Come Comments
Liz Anderson wrote this beautiful song. The Hag singing young and hungry. God you can not believe how this is so hauntingly true this day as Ms. Shannon Burns is called home to her savior Jesus Christ. The great Ralph Mooney on pedal steel. Bonnie Campbell, and the great Wynn Stewart singing harmony. As good as it gets, right here.
Shannon: Please say it is not true!!
@Blue Bayou, We laid Little Bear Shannon Burns to eternal rest in the cradling arms of her savior, Jesus Christ , August 23, 2019. And she took that brilliant mind and my heart with her😭😥😭
OMG I am so sorry for "your" and her extended family's loss. Regrettably I never did get the opportunity to communicate directly with Shannon. However, I always scoured "YouTube" for Shannon's comments, which always revealed her wit and wealth of knowledge regarding the "country" music genre. I am going to miss her writing so much. May the Lord hold and keep her in his loving arms forever ~ the heavens were lit with another star. RIP Shannon. 😭😥😭😭😥😭
This sounds like Merle's song writing but it is written by the Anderson

I like millions times better BillyMurray sing the worst is yet to come recorded in 1919. My be another song but the same tittle. And Johnny Marvin sang a million tomes better counry music that this. Johnny had a million times more pleasant voice.
This is my song, I love it, so real for me.
A (GREAT) Hag song
can't go wrong with the Hag,,, wonderful ♥
I like the classic old style sound Merle put on this one..A great song off Merle's 1965 album titled, "Strangers".
Thank you for this one. It's beautyful.
Nancy Olsen No it’s horrible. Billy Murray did a another song, but the same tittle as this song and Billy sang millions times better. If I vould hear good country music I listen to Johnny Marvin,Frankie Marvin,Gene Autry and Jimmie Rodgers ( The father of country music)
