Haggard, Merle - Take These Chains From My Heart Lyrics
Take these chains from my heart and set me free
You've grown cold and no longer care for me
All my faith in you hass gone but the heartaches linger on
Take these chains from my heart and set me free.
Just a spark of the love that used to be
If you love somebody new let me find somebody too
Take these chains from my heart and set me free.
Give my heart just a word of sympathy
Be as fair to my heart as you can be
Then if you no longer care for the love that's beating there
Take these chains from my heart and set me free.
Take these chains from my heart and set me free
All my faith in you is gone but the heartaches linger on
Take these chains from my heart and set me free...

I never thought anyone would be able to sing a Hank Williams song as well as Hank, but by God Merle Haggard can do just that.
Merle could do anything....
And he had a much stronger voice. Fred Rose wrote this song.

My MOM second husband, had went to school with Merle Haggard. He wasn't a friend of Merle but remembered seeing him and years later, remembered the name, Merle Haggard. I don't know what school it was at but it was in Bakersfield. My Mom second husband, Ed had past away in the year of 1999.
