Haggard, Merle - It Makes No Difference Now Lyrics

Makes no difference now what kind of life fate hands me
I'll get along without you now, that's plain to see
I don't care what happens next, 'cause I'll get by somehow
I don't worry 'cause it makes no difference now

It was just a year ago when I first met you
I learned to love you and I thought you'd love me, too
But now that's all in the past and I'll forget somehow
I don't worry 'cause it makes no difference now

Now that we have really parted, I can't believe we're through
I don't blame myself and I'm sure I can't blame you
There was something had to happen and it happened somehow
I don't worry 'cause it makes no difference now

After all is said and done I'll soon forget you
Although I know that it will be so hard to do
Let things happen as they will and I'll get by somehow
I don't worry 'cause it makes no difference now

I like the song. Can't people just listen to a song and enjoy it, rather than critique it three ways from Sunday?
If we are all that awesome, then how come we all ain't making records and people critiquing us?
These thumbs down things, there are always gonna be haters and critical P.O.S.'s, can't ya just let someone enjoy listening to a song, rather than ruin for it everyone else?
You don't know what people are going through in their lives at the moment.
It seems every video I watch of a song I love to hear, there is a bunch that hate it, because they want something that suits them.
FOR ONCE, in your little time on this planet, listen to the story, the words, that are being conveyed to you.
You have no idea what was going through the minds of the writer who penned these words to paper, or how others, who have listened to this song or countless other songs, down through the ages, what they were going through, or the memories or thoughts in their heads when they heard a particular song.
    Just my thoughts.

I love everything Merle Haggard sings I told my children he could have been their father. I love this man and he leaves great memories for me to cherish. Thanks for your post.

Nedra Bradley I listened to him alot after me separation and divorce. My grandpa really liked him and I remember hearing him play all the time. I saw Merle play a couple months before he passed. He was up in northern Indiana. I'm glad I got to see one of the legends. I like playing his songs on the guitar.

    J.... H....

@Jason Hammond I've been in Love with Merle since I first heard his voice. I Love the voice he began this in. I saw Merle in the 70s in Macon Georgia. He was great then.I also go to George Strait concerts but just can't feel the same as I feel for Merle.

    J.... H....

You are very blessed the to see this great Legend. I've listened to Merle Haggard the 55 years. I've loved every minute of it. I work a night shift and still is today of every night. Thanks for continuing to play his music.

    Janelle in Houston

    J.... K....

I agree. I heard George Jones say the same thing and coming from George that is high praise.

    J.... K....

Yes. In fact, Merle Haggard and George Jones each said the other was the greatest. I believe Haggard was just being polite!

    J.... K....

Noah Jonas BITCH NOTHING COMING FROM THAT GOOD FOR NOTHING NO TALENT SACK OF SHIT GEORGE JONES MOUTH IS ANYWHERE CLOSE TO HIGH PRAISE

    J.... K....

Danny Hollander AS MUCH OF A FAN OF MERLE HAGGARD AS I AM IF MERLE SAID THAT MERLE WAS SO WRONG IT AIN'T EVEN FUNNY.
