Haggard, Merle - Immigrant Lyrics
American ranching consists of a mansion
Where illegal immigrants do much of the labor by hand
They sneak 'em through customs till time comes to bust 'em
Then haul 'em back over the border to their own native land
They'll be back again when the ole Rio Grande's way down low
So border patroller don't stop the stroller
'Cause the illegal immigrant is helping America grow
Viva La Mexico, go where they let you go
And do what you can for the land
Take home dinero and buy new sombrero
And come back again when you can
What makes a gringo your smart aleck lingo
Don't he remember the big money lender
That put him a lien parked where his pencil had been
The almighty peso that gives him the say so
To dry up the river whenever there's crops to bring in
Such a good neighbor to take all his labor
Chase him back over the border till he's needed again
Viva La Mexico, go where they let you go
And do what you can for the land
Take home dinero and buy new sombrero
And come back again when you can
Viva La Mexico, go where they let you go
And do what you can for the land
Take home dinero and buy new sombrero
And come back again when you can

Legal immigrants are good
Donald dumpster needs to hear this song

They sneak 'em through customs
till time comes to bust 'em
Then haul 'em back over the border

With a ragged sombrero and not much dinero
They'll be back again when

Viva la méxico dice Merle.
Merle have one respect true for mexicans in the United States. Grands workers mexicans people
Llora, chico, llora, chico, llora
Llora, chico, llora
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir (llorando a tu alma)
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir (llorando a tu alma)
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir (llorando a tu alma)
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir
Llora, chico, llora
Llora, chico, llora
Llora, chico, llora, chico, llora
Llora, chico, llora, chico, llora
Llora, chico, llora, chico, llora
Llora, chico, llora, chico, llora
Llora, chico, llora, chico, llora
Llora, chico, llora, chico, llora
Te vas por la mañana con todo lo que tienes en un pequeño caso negro
Solo en una plataforma, el viento y la lluvia en una cara triste y solitaria
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir
Huir, alejarlo, huir, alejarse, huir

Amen to immigrants. They've made our country what it is. Let's show some compassion, just like Merle taught us
lovely comment
I so agree
Merle Haggard's songs live on! Thanks for the good times, Merle. RIP. Thanks for posting, Chris!
#MAGA this shit anyway. But remember this, Trump wants good immigrants, illegal or not not evil illegals. if they're gangsters and ms-13 shit, deport their asses.
Merle is from Bakersfield. He grew up with Mexicans. Worked with them in the fields. Him and Buck Owens. Hard working and no nonsense Mexicans like my Grandfather right there in Kern County.
Nice to hear a white country song that says the truth about Latino immigrants! The only thing wrong is that the only place that I see people wearing Mexican sombreros is in the US or in Mexican tourist areas.. Hopefully the anti-immigrant racists who usually like this type of music will hear the wisdom in Haggard's song.
Leave it to "Hag" to tell it like it is. Love it.
Very nice song. <3
Without the immigrant's to do the stoop labor in the fields, the gringo's would go hungry. They rather sit on their ass and draw their welfare checks. Or the women will just have another baby in order to get more welfare money & food stamps while livin' in the section 8 housing.
Great true song. Most of them go to right to work states. I call them right to not get paid states. Without immigrants Americans would go hungry. I live in the south field workers work like machines in the extreme heat and humidity. Bless there hearts.
you are dumber than a fucking rock.
@Ric A My word you sure are a friendly guy......
Merle......love ya! What a song! R.I.P.
This is a very difficult Haggard song to find
James Williams b
you have this all wrong..... it isn't President Obama.... it is Donald Trump that wants to build a wall. In this wonderful song...Merle Haggard was talking about how America grew due to the hard work of the Mexican immigrants!
Mr. Obama did deport more than any president before him. I'm sure the orange douche will surpass it. But the facts are accurate. Both are/were wrong
Jane Abbott ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, not immigrants. Why do you Liberal idiots seem to always miss the word illegal? Just shut up and enjoy the song without bringing cancerous politics into it
How true this song is One of my favorites from many years ago. It just tells the truth about how the rich used mexican labor and maybe even the poor used their labor but who do you blame for the Open Borders?????????? Seriously. Bush was a big friend of Mexican President hang out because they found oil there or because he loved the cheap labor.
Love this song.
love my Merle..
I have been looking for this song for years!!!, thank you for posting!
