Haggard, Merle - Colorado Lyrics
There's a place where mother nature's got it all together
She knows just when to let wild flowers bloom
Some-how she always seems to know exactly what she's doin'
And The Lord saw fit to furnish elbow room.
Have you ever been down to Colorado
I spend a lot of time there in my mind.
And if God doesn't live in Colorado
I'll bet that's where He spends most of his time.
I'd love to be there watching early in the morning
The sun comes up and crowns the mountain king
If by chance you dare to be there high upon the mountain
I swear that you can hear the angels sing.
Have you ever been down to Colorado
I spend a lot of time there in my mind.
And if God doesn't live in Colorado
I'll bet that's where He spends most of his time.

Great song and performance by Merle Haggard! I grew up in Colorado (in CA now) and this song makes me homesick. Got to see Merle live a few times and it was fantastic!
Great song...I listen to this song almost everyday as it is so beautiful! You know that saying a day without listening to country music is like a day without sunshine. Janelle in Houston
Great man and great song!
Today we are all Okies from Muskogee. RIP Merle, and thank you for the music.
One of his GREATEST !
This Song by Merle Haggard, Colorado, should have been the State Song from the beginning. Simply Beautiful,
Definitely.
But it's Rocky mountain high which is a much better song in my opinion
@plan of tech I lived in Colorado b 4 that damn song, which encouraged an influx of undesirables who CALIFORNICATED COLORADO, much to its degradation IMO.
@city zen Colorado was good before the pot smokers were there but if you listened to what John Denver has said he said "people who think the song is about pot or getting high on the Rocky mountains have never been to the Rocky mountains" now you may have been to the Rocky mountains before and still think that but I think that he meant that the song was about getting naturally high which is different from being high on drugs
I love Merle Haggard and my Colorado
