GZA - Alphabets Lyrics

[GZA]
All I need is a beat, with a continuous loop
And a live vibe, that'll hypnotize like the flute
Along with something that's rugged by nature like the forest
Composed like the symphony without a chorus
A place with the path and trail that you follow
With the wood, where you drive your nails, but too hollow
Far from reality, with a slim chance of getting back
Even if you narrowly escape the hidden traps
Nothing but the driven raps written in my notebook
Inspired by the cap and the gown, that's on the coat hook
Prepare for the chemical rush, something new to cause
Your heart to bass, but it's tangable to touch
Associate with those who are consumed with beats
Produce fire, until they melt the room with heat
You know my ink lay all over the sheets, let us gather around
And form words, everytime they meet

[Chorus: GZA]
Allah Be a Born, Cee Divine, Equality
Father, then after that, there's the G-O-D
He or Her, I Islam, then Justice
King of Kingdom, Love, Hell or Right, we still exist
Master, Now in Cypher/O, Power's the Queen
Rule of Rulers, Self of Save, the Truth of the square, the same
Universe, Victory, Wisdom, Unknown/X, Why/Y
Zig Zag Zig, and now we're back home

[GZA]
I brought butter for the popcorn, dip for the chips
And ego for your trip, some scripts for you to flip
Corrections for mishaps, errors, or mistakes
Fly raps for beats, and pop and lock for breaks
A legend in my own lifetime, from one rhyme
That was specially designed, from the hook to bottom line
Shine's like a precious jewel, cut up in the workshop
With specialized handcrafted tools
Couldn't buy this hardware, so don't swipe your card there
Better yet, fold your hand, cuz you holding the wrong pair
One hit wonders, get a little shine like flashlights
But when I drop the bomb and explode like gas pipes
A livewire, known as the dragon that spit fire
Verbal action, hot as the grease from deep fryers
Delivered in the perfect pitch, because hip hop
Is all in my genes/jeans, the pattern is seen in every stitch

[Chorus: GZA]
Allah Be a Born, Cee Divine, Equality
Father, then after that, there's the G-O-D
He or Her, I Islam, then Justice
King of Kingdom, Love, Hell or Right, we still exist
Master, Now in Cypher/O, Power's the Queen
Rule of Rulers, Self of Save, the Truth of the square, the same
Universe, Victory, Wisdom, Unknown/X, Why/Y
Zig Zag Zig, and now we're back home

so refreshing to hear some REAL hip hop , screw all that mainstream brainwashing crap, I live in Los Angeles and I have NEVER heard GZA on the "hip hop" station ( Power 106 ) , and actually thats the way I like it, KEEP IT REAL AND UNDER THE RADAR!!!!!!

  55. S.... O....

Damn this Track is strong as fuck...

  56. M.... ....

  59. O.... L....

    This shit is my jam!

  60. r.... ....

    True that.

  61. G.... S....

He is more lyrical on other albums, but not consistently like for instance Pro Tools has moment where it's superior to Liquid Swords lyrics but it also has Paper Plates, therefore it isn't consistent enough.

  62. r.... ....

GZA admitted himself that liquid swords isn't his best album lyrically

  63. M.... A....

don't fuck whit the lyrics haha

  64. D.... ....

i love the GZA but i might disagree. i heard him say i nan interview that he thinks Liquid Swords is his best album because of RZA's production, but its not his best lyrical work. maybe Beneath the Surface, but i could be wrong

  65. E.... ....

to be honest I don't think that freestyling really matters when determining a great emcee. Freestyling is ill but if a rapper can write better then someone that can freestyle and write it would make them better overall since they do have better lyrics overall

  66. t.... ....

Love Gza, but this album is weak, his lyrics still are on point but the production, I could fall asleep on it, he needs that slammin Rza production.

  67. D.... ....

    FIRE!!!

  68. M.... ....

Hes truely a fucking genius. 'Maximillion, Behind everything thats smart about the Wu' Rae on the GZA.

  69. H.... ....

Also in Animal Planet, he's a God.

  70. m.... ....

Ghost IS dope!! U-god is my fave out the clan. I think that as dope as the Wu TAng is... or WAS the group as whole kind of took away from how dope these dude are on the mic. Their individual albums show that they could have came out as separate artist and still would have been dope. But it kinda makes you wonder what if they had all come out solo?? they could have done what they did as a group, but maintained an even tighter stranglehold on the whole rap scene for a LOT LONGER.. food for thought

  71. m.... ....

Eminem Could not fuck with The GZA. This song is a perfect example. If you know anything about 5% and you listen to this you can see why this brother calls himself a genus. Lyrically HE FUCKIN IS!

  72. m.... ....

You are absolutely right that at the end of the day it's all subjective. But when names start to match up on different list then there's got to be some truth there. Yeah I think RAS KASS would smoke Eminem or Pace Won and Yong Zee for that matter; whose style Eminem completely stole to become famous with.

  73. t.... ....

Emimen was not the most lyrical of all time. First of it is subjective so at the end of it all, it is just an opinion. But I think Ras Kass was more lyrical. Freestyle wise, KRS One would had taken out Emimen.

  74. a.... ....

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. I fucking love GZA, but eminem is by far the most lyrical MC of all time. Even his fuck around songs are just lyrically perfect even though the substance itself is a joke/shouldn't be taken seriously.

  75. c.... ....

    ghostface is the best

  76. T.... ....

Ok, why you bringin that up to me? LOL.

  77. r.... ....

@MidlandKruiskade Can you give examples? I've listened to liquid swords so many times but I can't understand all the rhymes

  78. W.... E....

    Genius.

  79. T.... ....

@MidlandKruiskade And overall no way Is GZA touching K-Rino, maybe not even Canibus. Overall. Favoring one aspect over another isnt overall.

  80. T.... ....

@MidlandKruiskade GZA doesnt have great multis or internals lol.
That's what he lacks, along with flow.

  81. J.... ....

I'll keep this brief so it doesnt look like im dick riding.......to say GZA is an MC is an understatement; he is an author.

  82. g.... l....

    Just GZA' skill

  83. c.... ....

def 1ne of my favorights- thats good to hear thats good to hear (=

  84. E.... P....

@TomHagan812 word up that swordsman joint is some dark fire..

  85. T.... ....

No fluff...no bells and whistles...straight spittin for 2:43...a beat and a continous loop. GZA's lyrical prowess is too much for the average listener. Glad to see some people on this comment thread know what time it is...When I was in college, I listen to Swordsman every day before work...put me in the right mindset.

  86. F.... ....

all i need is a beat with a continuous loop...

  87. y.... ....

I have liquid swords, legend of the liquid sword, and beneath the surface albums, and overall beneath the surface i have listened to the most by far.

  88. t.... ....

I thought Pro Tools was a great album

  89. H.... E....

    " P R O P S, all the way from A Z A N I A ".....

  90. m.... ....

@MidlandKruiskade and you hear that in this song. Canibus is nice but GZA is nicer. I once made a top 10 but I had to re-do it (to be fair to emcees) because of all the wu members that kept popping up in it.

  91. G.... S....

@immortalteq1 I already knew he said that, but Nas said the same thing. He said IWW is his best work lyrically and that's not true either. Liquid Swords is more consistent lyrically and production wise. GZA maybe is't even talking about albums, he could be talking about a song, his most lyrical song could be on another album..overall I'm pretty sure Liquid Swords is his most lyrical, followed by Legend of the LS, Beneath the Surface and Grandmasters.

  92. F.... S....

LMFAO .sexy and i know it kills this song lyrically

  93. G.... S....

    @rakimkoolgrapwutang Do you have lastfm?

  94. G.... S....

@rakimkoolgrapwutang I liked the album still a very good album, all the beats had to be like 7 Pounds that was amazing. It's true though it seemed like his flow was very lazy even though GZA is clearly not lazy (proof: his lyrics). Black Milk did incredible job on 7 Pounds. Lyrically it's amazing, 0% Finance & Alphabets.

  95. G.... S....

@rakimkoolgrapwutang I know LS seems simple, but it's mad fucking clever. GZA is the living proof that you don't have to use big words to be lyrical. 0% Finance is incredible, but I hate the fucking beat.

  96. G.... S....

@rakimkoolgrapwutang it's a shame, cause I wanna know what album he meant. Grandmasters is incredible with Exploitation of Mistakes & Queen's Gambit, but I don't think it's as consistent as Liquid Swords is. Duel of the Iron Mic, Living in the World Today, Gold, Cold World, Labels (Fame & Queen's Gambit are better though), 4th Chamber, Swordsman (UNDERrated), Investigative Reports and Killah Hills 10304. What's you favorite GZA verse in terms of lyrics..

  97. G.... S....

@rakimkoolgrapwutang He actually did say that LS lyrically isn't his best album, he said not at all, but overall yes. What album did he mean was more lyrical cause he didn't say that. I am convinced LS is his most lyrical album though.

  98. L.... ....

ALL THIS FUCKING TIME, and i didnt notice that the chorus's main nouns go in the order of the alphabet, for fucks sake. Even much of the chorus does this
    ALL i need is a
    Beat with a
    Continous loop.

  99. G.... S....

@cracksmoker321 Canibus is one of the greatest and if he is your greatest then that's fine. To me he is one of my favorites and the knowledge he drops on Rip the Jacker in insane, but like I said in my other post I think GZA is better. GZA is more clever than Canibus, Canibus uses bigger words but he is not trying to be smart like many people say, he actually is very smart. Songs like Poet Laureate make my brain explode. Also K-Rino, very similar to Canibus, I think he is a little bit better.
