I think it means to show their naivety in some area of life ( walked with their eyes closed). They got wrapped up in the "fun" of whatever lifestyle and in turn gave their hearts away.

If you listen to The Liturgist Podcast you'll know It's not a deception - they've been very honest about what believe. Unlike certain 'Christian' bands who are faking it.

They actually lost their faith in God.

@Angel Sanchez It's called doubt. To be a Christian, and not have doubt is next to impossible. And from what I've gotten from what I've seen, is that they haven't lost their faith, they just deconstructed what they believed their whole lives, and reconstructed it to their own understanding. Instead of just following what they've been taught, they decided to listen to God himself, rather than what they've known their whole lives. This song says we've been living with our eyes closed. Maybe we as Christians have been living blindly, thinking we've found the way, when in reality, we have been acting like present day Pharisees. Christians see people like gungor and say they aren't fit to be Christian...sounds eerily familiar to the story of the Pharisees in the bible. I realize I commented on a lot more than what you stated, and that not all of it has to do with you (I'm not saying you're a Pharisee or that you don't think they are for to be christians... etc) since I don't know your opinions and beliefs. I just felt in my heart the need to say these things for some reason. I hope you understand

Hey thanks for replying. Just so you know i am a Christian and if i'm honest with you i have never said "i don't believe in God." I have read about and seen videos where they do say that, i'm not judging, but they do have a wrong idea of God im sure because of the way they were brought up. So they had their doubts because of unfortunate events and i know their faith will soon grow.

@Angel Sanchez I'm glad to know that you haven't doubted to the point of not believing in him, and I hope you never will. But I hope you know it's actually pretty common, and I believe almost essential in faith to doubt. Obviously everyone is different though. I believe that actually, since they got to that point of not believing at all and are relearning what faith is, that they may actually have the right idea of who God is. I believe they had a wrong view of him in the past because of those events, and that now they are on the right path. It's hard to tell though, as we won't have all the answers until we die. So I'm not necessarily trying to prove a point. Just thought I'd try to throw put a perspective. We seem to have a similar idea though now that I read your last comment. 😂

I can't get enought of this song and this video! My understanding about this video is that the girl had a meeting with Jesus and she got the new heart, and now she shares the gospel! This place is the celabration for the new heart, and life in Jesus. Maybe you're seeing this video longing for a traditional way of worship, but Michael and Lisa Gungor agaaain teaches us that Jesus is more, greater, than we expect, don't tryy to put Him in a religious box, because He is greater than everything. Can't you find worship in songs that aren't traditional? Do you have to raise your hands to feel that you're worshiping? Just keep Jesus in the center, not rhythms.

y'all are still closed minded people. God loves us all and no they are not considered a "christian band" because labeling comes with so many cliches/stereotypes. I've been a believer since as far back as I remember but I'd rather NOT say that I'm christian and let my actions/decisions/attitude/love for others speak for it self.

i have lost many friends especially in the art world since i have openly declared my love for God and follow the path of Christ. But honnestly i am proud of being in Love with my Creator and would never give doubt a chance for the darkness of the world is enough prouf of how vile we can become in his absence. I find it important for christians to talk to all about hope and Christ...they are experimenting and growing wiht sincere hearts and that what is important. this music is not very original although the video is where a boy wears make up to attrack a woman or man, he wants a heart ....i also thought of maya and aztec heart sacrifices and babylon baby sacrifices..... make up reminds me of what the demons gave humanity to deceive each other

this music is not very original although the video is+ where a boy wears illusion make up to attrack a woman or man in the darkness, he wants a heart and then this heart is given to everybody but what gingor forgot is that Jesus gave his heart to the world...and that was enough, we can love the people but not give our jewels to the pigs who will tremple it .... this is why it is confusing and so common of worldliness . the esthetics of the video are original and attractive....contemporary youths of new mexico gardens....i also thought of maya and aztec heart sacrifices and babylon baby sacrifices..... make up reminds me of what the demons gave humanity to deceive each other and lure each other into unsacred sex.

Could someone explain the hate Gungor gets? Like why is the ratio of hates large on this vid... Their music is so good! I don't get it.

Because they are more honest, and produce art that sometimes is challenging and isn't just simplified, spoon-fed pablum. (I'm not even making any claims here on quality, just that it's not always easy entertainment.)

people in the Christian circle tend to think they're too edgy or aren't "jesus-y" enough. Whatever the hell that actually means. Art is meant to distrub the comfortable. They break the mold of formulaic CCM music. That's always made waves. mewithoutYOU gets, or got anyway, similar flak
