Gungor - Higher Lyrics

There is no one there is no one like You
no one like you
in heaven or on earth

only good things can ever come from you
even your judgment
is righteous and true

Your Name is sweeter than the rain that falls upon
the face of dry and weary land
and causes us to turn our face again
Your Name be praised
and be lifted higher

There is no one...

With every morning there are mercies new
Your kindness
brings us back to you

Your name is stronger than the pain
it's covering the shame of all these weary hands
and causing us to turn our face again
Your Name be praised

@Caleb Tarman  Do you know that the meaning of Christian means "like Christ" right? Your just contradicting yourself by saying that you would address yourself as a follower of Christ. Its the same thing. Your just replacing the name with the definition... And you don't believe that everything in the Bible is true? Don't you believe that God wouldn't let any one corrupt his word and damn his people? Once the Lord opens his mouth to speak, no matter how many millenniums go by, it will remain true. You have to believe in the bible completely. It is imperative. And what parts do you not believe in? (I know its been 8 months but I hope you don't mind responding)

    F.... ....

yes you want to be like christ. and some people turn that off and on which is not good, they are on fire for god maybe in church or at a camp, but then around your other friends you use bad language or do bad stuff. But its okay to ask questions and be confused about certain things in the bible, but you want to find the answers to your questions. Being Christian does not mean we make less amount of mistakes, it just means that we are forgiven for the mistakes that we make. If you repent then not only will u be forgiven but you will also get to go to heaven, but it is okay to question, intact thats what god wants us to do. some people have different beliefs with in the bible, and they can't hep that. Like sometimes I think that god created the big bang. god also at some points talks about dinosaur like creatures and unicorn like creatures.

    F.... ....

if people think jesus is real then fuck elmo must be to and vampires must be real zombies man the bible is a book a story like everything else theres no truth to prove that the Christ is real no prove all ya got is a book nothing else if there was proof he was real there would be no sin and every one would praise but guess what... that's right no proof :)
I grow p in a church till I was 13 I never was Christian cause I like millions of other people need proof to believe and proof is truth you cant have truth with out proof and to the fact how the world started how everything was created sadly there will never be an answer to that..

thanks for reading and remember you only live once so why waste on something that aint real enjoy your self do shit
Christians are assholes and cowards that are afraid of death and will mock those who aren't saved fucking dicks preaching all should be shoot

    F.... ....

@The_Craved_Drangon 94 I really pitty people like you. At some point, you decided to seek God, to see if the "big guy upstairs"actually existed, and failed. After this failiure, you decide to take up the positioning that there is no God.That no one can prove God's existence and that it is a waste of time to serve Him. You know what? Let me share with you a secret buddy: as long as you look for materialistic evidence for proof of the existence of the Almighty, YOU WILL NEVER EVER FIND HIM! GOD is not contained in MATERIAL. He CANNOT be calculated by numbers, statistics, theology, philosophy, logic, nor reason. Dude, thats why He is God! He EXCEEDS the human limit of intelligence! If He was small enough to be understood, He would not be worthy of our worship. Rather, He would only be a man as we are; imperfect. The Christian God is not like any other god because He is REAL and He LOVES us, despite our sins! If you are really up to the challege, look for God. The REAL God. The God of Abraham, Moses, and David. The God who gave up His beloved, begotten Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth for our sins! He IS real. And you're right. There is no evidence that God exists. But there is also no evidence that God DOESNT exist. Countless times, science has proven that it is impossible for something to come from nothing. So why is it that you allow this situation of God's existence to be the acception? So now, evolution and the "big bang" is the answer to every complex and intelligent life on earth? That is the most stupid theory I have ever heard...honestly. This is why faith is so important. At any given time and second, factual evidence can be proven wrong and updated due to new discoveries. Faith? You cant prove faith wrong. Especially (well, ultimately) the genuine Christian faith. I believe in Jesus Christ. I am NOT ashamed of the GOSPEL of Jesus because it gives power unto those who believe. Jesus healed me of depression, anxiety, fear, death, and low self-esteem. I cant fake a healing. If God doesnt exist, then why am I healed? Dont accuse me of hallucinating buddy because how can millions of people, from the past, present, and future experience the same EXACT feelings of healing power? MY God. I want to serve Him and love Him forever. How can you call serving the One who decided to give up His life for yours a waste of time? Dude, time is running out. Repent before it's too late! Tomorrow is not promised unto you! I want to enter the kingdom of God....I pray that you would too. Nothing of material on this earth can compare to the love of God. He completes me...Grace and peace.

    F.... ....

Lol I love you to son

  6. W.... ....

Your personal experiences inform you on the particulars of biological evolution?

  7. C.... T....

They match up with my personal experiences (or delusions, if you will).

  8. W.... ....

People who don't accept evolution tend to congregate in certain places. Like the Southern and Midwest United States.

  9. W.... ....

So you believe that the parts about Jesus are true? But not the rest of it? What makes those parts more reliable?

  10. C.... T....

Just a couple fringe people? I've had incredibly bad luck then, almost none of my friends are of that opinion.

  11. C.... T....

I believe that though the bible can be a great way to connect to god, not everything in it is true. I have actually considered dropping the title "christian" for a while now for this reason. "Follower of Jesus" would be more accurate.

  12. W.... ....

It's my understanding that most christians, including the catholic church, accept evolution as the most likely explanation for human development. There's a small percentage of fringe religious people who don't accept it. I think they just don't understand the theory.

  13. W.... ....

The authors of the new testament make it quite clear that Jesus/god is not interested in those who don't follow him. They are "not worthy of him". The bible tells many stories of god butchering entire towns that don't follow him. So I don't think you can say that christians believe that god has just as much interest in non-christians.

If you don't base your religion on the bible, then can you still call yourself a christian?

  14. C.... T....

Another thing I just want to throw out there, I do believe evolution is real. How can we believe in God, when there's no hard evidence to support his existence, when we can't even believe in evolution, which has been all but proven with all the missing links and similarities between fossils? In my opinion, way to many people think every word of the bible has to be literal.

  15. C.... T....

Okay, I can see your point. However, I will say that though we believe god has taken an interest in us, we also believe he has taken just as much interest in others, though I suppose that could still be seen as narcissism. Also, I believe a little differently than most Christians on the second point. Judging by my personal experiences (or delusions) God doesn't seem like the kind of guy who just chucks everyone in hell, no matter what the bible says.

  16. C.... T....

You're right of course. As I can't provide evidence of God, I can't say anything more here.

  17. W.... ....

OK, but there's not rational reason to believe that.

  18. C.... T....

I'm not saying that science is delusional. I'm just saying that God is real.

  19. W.... ....

It's narcissistic because the christian has chosen to believe that the creator of the universe has taken special interest in them. More than that, they belief that anyone who doesn't share their belief is deserving of death and eternal hellfire.

I'm not sure I could think of something more narcissistic.

  20. W.... ....

The fact that everyone sees their god differently supports the more likely conclusion that they're all just seeing their own personal delusion.

You can say science is delusional. But its conclusions are based on evidence everyone sees the same. While religious beliefs are based on visions that everyone sees differently.

  21. C.... T....

One thing i dont get. How is believing you are nothing but dust without the help of a savior narcissistic?

  22. C.... T....

Everyone sees God in different ways, just like everyone connects to him in different ways. As for your second arguement, you say I am confusing the capacity to see with delusion? I could say the same of you, couldn't I? From my point of view it is you who can't see, not me who is deluded. You might as well simplify it and say "Nope, your wrong." By the way, you don't have to keep saying God's an illusion in every message, you've made your position pretty clear.

  23. W.... ....

If you collected independent descriptions from all the people who 'saw' god, I'm sure they'd all be quite different. No one here is seeing the same god, they're seeing a narcissistic fantasy of their own creation.

You're confusing the capacity to see with delusion. If someone can't operate a telescope, they may continue to believe that the stars are holes in a 'firmament'. But once someone teaches them to use the tool, they can put aside their superstition and see the truth.

  24. C.... T....

C'mon you can do better than this. 1. I see plenty of people who have noticed god here. 2.You know those pattern picture things? For the life of me I can't see the hidden picture, but others can. Clearly, they must be insane, right?

  25. W.... ....

When you notice something that other people don't; that's a solid indication that the thing you're noticing isn't real.

  26. C.... T....

Insanity. Clearly. When I start noticing things that aren't there, I'll know I've gone insane.

  27. W.... ....

Yes, not noticing things that aren't there is a sign of sanity. So the opposite would be....?

  28. C.... T....

lol dude just about everyone on this page has noticed it. I only see one person who hasn't.

  29. W.... ....

Yes, if it was real, someone would have noticed it.

  30. C.... T....

I can't man. magic schoolbus just freaks me out. school buses should not have eyes.

  31. C.... T....

Dude, if God's kingdom was in the lower atmosphere, someone would have noticed by now.

  32. W.... ....

I'm surprised no one told you this, but potatoes actually come from the ground. Your chances of learning useful information go up considerably when you put down the bible and pick up a science book.

  33. W.... ....

So where is your imaginary friend's kingdom located exactly? It's above us, but not in space? Like in the clouds? Or lower atmosphere? No potatoes there either I'm afraid.

  34. C.... T....

and if down below means what I think it does, then no, thats actually the bad place. It has fire and knashing teeth, but no mashed potatoes sadly.

  35. C.... T....

See, I meant god's kingdom. I know there's no mashed potatoes in space.

  36. W.... ....

Actually no food comes from Heaven. The heavens will kill you almost instantly because they're a giant cold vacuum. All the good stuff comes from down below.

  37. C.... T....

Mashed potatoes then. THOSE come strait down from heaven.

  38. W.... ....

Cows didn't evolve to be this tasty. We evolved to find them tasty because they contain protein and fat, two things we need.

Followers of every god claim some personal experience with it/him/her. This shows that it's all just personal fantasy.

  39. C.... T....

See, I don't think it's possible for cows to have evolved to be THIS tasty without some guiding force. And yes, I was joking. As far as the existance of Jesus I won't argue with you. You're right. There's no proof or hard evidence of God. His followers know he is there because they have met him. And, though I was joking, I do feel close to God while eating Tri-tip.

  40. W.... ....

That's hard evidence that cows are tasty, nothing more.Christians are great at inserting their dogma everywhere they can. This is why Hitchens accurately stated that religion poisons everything, even sandwiches.

P.S. I know you were just joking...at least I hope you were.

  41. C.... T....

You want proof that there is an all powerful loving being watching over us? Eat a tri-tip sandwich. Hard evidence that god exists, right there.

  42. S.... M....

Sorry..meant to say, "what message you think...."

  43. W.... I....

See what I mean? You're EVERYWHERE!

  44. R.... L....

Indeed, but the core stuff. I believe 100% of God's word, but in his terms... I was debating on his terms

  45. W.... ....

Billions of years of evolution from minerals is different than magic turning dirt directly into a fully developed homo sapien. I've never heard your asteroid story before. There's no reason to believe 'day' in genesis means anything other than that same word in the other parts of the bible.

The biblical god drowned the whole world, tortured his most devoted follower and killed thousands of children as a form of extortion. How is that the greatest example of love?

  46. A.... K....

Actually 1st cells or parts of the cell come right from the Earth itself and a nucleotide of a DNA or RNA was found in a asteroid that happened to get into contact with the 2 nucleotides that was formed on Earth from what you can say in modern day dust. The world was made in 7 days, What is 7 days to God. I am not a man who is a fan of religion i am a man who is a fan of love. Never have i found a greater example of love that surpasses God. Well however we got here, living with love is the best.

  47. W.... ....

In science a hypothesis comes first, then a theory. Evolution is a theory. Religion is just a set of claims without any evidence to support them. The scientific threshold for a hypothesis is not met by superstition/religion.

  48. R.... L....

No, it's less than a hypothesis. Both it and religion are theories, and I happen to be a Christian because of the things I've seen in my life.

  49. W.... ....

Evolution is more than a hypothesis, it's a theory.

  50. R.... L....

Never said there were. And I've had it being a fact force fed to me by too many people. Evolution isn't a hypothesis either. Unrepeatable.

  51. W.... ....

Voices in your head, or magic visions don't count as evidence. You're not in telepathic communication with the creator of the universe, that's just delusion.

Anyone who knows anything about evolution knows that it is a theory. But the christian claim, that man came from magic dirt, isn't even a hypothesis.

  52. R.... L....

Evidence is from personal experience, I believe someone else told you that but of course you blew it off. I'm showing you that evolution is a theory. Plenty of holes in it.

  53. W.... ....

Transitions are abrupt because fossilization is extremely rare. But even abrupt transitions would invalidate the children's story version of creation in the bible; where man came from dirt + magic.

I'll never understand how anyone would find evolution questionable due to not enough evidence. But then have no problem believing in an ancient myth without a shred of evidence.

  54. R.... L....

Well you asked for evidence, sorry to disturb you, and you were directly cotradicting what experts said, not debating translations of them. Gould, major proponent of evolution, says "All palaeontologists know that the fossil record contains precious little in the way of intermediate forms; transitions between major groups are characteristically abrupt." (Daily Telegraph, 1 May 1996)

  55. W.... ....

    Can you cite Blanchard's sources?

How could someone believe in evolution, but not think it would show up in the fossil record? Is he saying all fossils are fakes?

You weren't what? Appealing to authority? You were claiming your point was valid because 'experts' agree with you. That's appealing to authority.

  56. R.... L....

Blanchard isn't being quoted, but he wrote a book with sources as well.
I agree that Gould supports evolution, he just says that fossil record doesn't help
    I wasn't. You're delusional

  57. W.... ....

Blanchard is just a preacher, meaning he's not a scientist.

Gould is a firm believer in evolution. Even if some evidence was misrepresented, he clearly believes there is enough to support evolution.

Appealing to authority is a logical fallacy, but I was still curious what your sources were.

  58. R.... L....

He said about the fossils being fraudulent. John Blanchard is a teacher, author, and speaker. First you ask me for sources and then blame me of appealing to authority. Sorry you can't follow your own thoughts.

  59. W.... ....

    What did Professor Gould say?

    Blanchard is just a preacher.

If you're going to commit the logical fallacy of appealing to authority, you should at least pick authorities in the correct field.

  60. R.... L....

Let me know when you can see it when I cite it. Stephen J Gould, Professor of Geology and Palaeontology at Harvard University, President of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, said that.
    Pretty vague.

Blanchard, John. Does God Believe in Atheists? Darlington: Evangelical, 2011. Print.

I'd rather trust experts than a man on YouTube

  61. W.... ....

All you're offering is vague claims that fossils are fraudulent. Let me know when you can show me evidence for any of your claims.

  62. R.... L....

    *intellectual

  63. R.... L....

You're out of it. Instead of logically asking and debating sources you foul-mouth it because that's about all you can do when evidence is brought to the table. I enjoy intellectualy conversations with atheists, as it helps me find answers and strengthens my faith, and here you invalidate most of your arguments by bad-mouthing and not trying any other way. As you're an atheist, I suggest you go live life to the fullest, as many atheists like you are just angry at everything, Thanks for debating

  64. W.... ....

He puts up with us because he's imaginary. I'm afraid of your god the same way you're afraid of Zeus.

A god that kills children to extort people, he is a monster. Only a profoundly immoral person would worship, and defend such a god.

  65. W.... ....

When christians leave the rest of us alone, we'll keep quiet. When their propaganda is taken off our money, removed from our schools, and our politics, then we'll keep quiet.

  66. W.... ....

No you didn't. Wikipedia is entirely more reliable than your fringe christian propaganda sites.

  67. R.... L....

That's nice. And yes I did, Mr. Wikipedia

  68. h.... ....

is it necessary for you people to come on here and argue about God? just leave please you obviously don't like the music so just be quiet please

  69. W.... ....

No, you didn't. You're believing fringe zealots who don't know what they're talking about.

  70. W.... ....

When you help people to glorify an imaginary deity, that's just self-serving delusion.

Helping people because you value the welfare of others, that's real compassion. Christians are not capable of this, as long as they cling to their own self-centered fantasy.

  71. R.... L....

Oh yeah I forgot, you never can be wrong. I did.

  72. W.... ....

No reputable scientist is disagreeing. Check your sources.

  73. R.... L....

Well these experts are disagreeing and I would rather believe them than a man on Youtube. Thanks

  74. W.... ....

Those actually in the field aren't doubtful. The only doubters are weekend dilettantes who have just enough information so that other gullible religious types will listen to their half-baked theories.

  75. W.... ....

Among the experts who study this subject day in and day out, there is no real debate over evolution. The only ones discounting it are religious zealots who can't reconcile natural evolution with whatever iron-age superstition they've clung to.

The fact that we are genetically similar to other animals supports evolution.

  76. R.... L....

Wait... didn't I just give examples of "missing links" that the media and science community raved about but were later proven false? Hmm... And dogs have incredibly similar genomes to humans (national geographic), and Professor Chris Moran, an animal geneticist, says that when we say we share 98 percent of genes with chimpanzees, that tends to be misleading, because it depends on what you are comparing. We also have a lot in common with pigs in terms of protein encoding

  77. R.... L....

Aaaaand we're expected to believe something that even spokesmen of evolutonists are extremely doubtful of? Hmm

  78. W.... ....

I don't think you understand evolution. It's not about big leaps, it's about immeasurably small variations. Most of these variations get lost in the process. But some get picked up and passed on.

  79. R.... L....

Let alone mutations be beneficial and all work together and are flawlessly passed down to another generation. Stephen J. Gould, Professor of Geology and Palaentology at Harvard confesses "All palaeontologists know that the fossil record contains precious little in the way of intermediate forms;transitions between major groups are characteristically abrupt."

  80. R.... L....

No, I cannot. However, the Neanderthal Man, Java Man, Nebraska Man, Peking Man, Nutcracker Man, and Lucy have all had large controversies surrounding them and have been proven fraud. And how come there are no transitional of transitional forms? How come we do not see animals with in between bone structures of them? Even transitional forms are to great a jump for one animal, let alone that animal mate, partially defy Mendel's laws, and succeed the ones without mutations.

  81. W.... ....

I'm not familiar with that case. But a fraud perpetrated in 1953 has no bearing on the verified fossil evidence today. Can you present evidence to counter any of these transitional forms?

    en.wikipedia[dot]org/wiki/List_of_transitional_fossils

  82. R.... L....

No they didn't. I just offer evidence that has no weight. John Blanchard, author of Does God Believe In Atheists?, shows us that in 1953 The Piltdown Man was shown to be a hoax, and was made of a human skull, orangutan jaw, and many other bones found on site were stained and filed to cover up their age. And yes he has evidence. There are plenty of other cases too

  83. W.... ....

So who told you that transitional forms are frauds? And did they offer any evidence or reason?

  84. R.... L....

Well I'm sorry the term "theory" only works to your advantage. Such a good way to argue, isn't it? Deny sources like that. It wasn't a person. And it's not like The Piltdown Man and all those weren't frauds...

  85. W.... ....

This is more ridiculous christian arrogance. You claim everything for your superstition without any reason or evidence. Now you're even claiming the people who are smart enough to see right through this nonsense.

Your imaginary god doesn't protect people, he tortures them, drowns them in huge numbers, kills them on a whim. He's a monster, read the bible!

  86. W.... ....

Do you ever ask yourself why you believe in an iron-age god that demanded animal sacrifice?

How can having his son killed influence your god's ability to forgive people.

When you break it down, christianity is just a cult of human sacrifice.

  87. W.... ....

Serving characters in your own imagination is the height of self-serving. You want to feel like you know what's going on. So you've adopted a fantasy.

If you want to be selfless, you work for the betterment of those real people around you instead of your imaginary friends.

  88. W.... ....

Whoever told you the evidence for evolution is fake, is lying to you. Effectively the entire scientific community treats evolution as a fact. Those who oppose it are driven by irrational ideology, not any kind of reason or evidence.

  89. W.... ....

Christianity survives because it promises an escape from death, and it layers on guilt and threats of eternal torture if you deny it. Its central character is a martyr. Martyrdom is a powerful tool of manipulation.

Millions of non-christians help others. America, one of the most rabidly christian countries, also has one of the smallest foreign aid programs in the world.

It's just unbridled christian arrogance to assume christians help the world more than others.

  90. R.... L....

And maybe the reason we don't believe in evolution is the fact that all the missing links are frauds. You can dream up all the fantastical things you want

  91. R.... L....

Christians are bashed for "enforcing" their views upon others, and here our songs of worship on YouTube are used for debating purposes by "tolerant"atheists

  92. W.... ....

Christians are promised a place in heaven if they work for others. So it's actually impossible for them to be selfless.

Secular humanitarians are the only people being truly selfless, because they know there is no afterlife full of rewards for them.

I do care for people, and I care for them out of a sense of compassion and community.

  93. W.... ....

There are millions of people working around the world for the betterment of others, with little or no thought for their own welfare. Mother Teresa just got more public exposure.

It's absurd arrogance to think that only people indoctrinated into your particular superstition are capable of working for others.

  94. W.... ....

Christianity is based on 1/3rd of an ancient book with a character named Christ in it. That character came to die so his dad could forgive us for breaking rules that his dad came up with. It's a bizarre and absurd myth.

  95. W.... ....

Nothing you're describing tells me there was a supernatural deity involved at any point. People do nice things for each other all the time. Christianity didn't invent compassion or kindness.

  96. W.... ....

You cannot prove something doesn't exist, that's impossible. I can't prove the Smurfs aren't real or that they are the creators of the universe. It's up to the person making the claim to prove something does exist. That's they way rational belief works.

You're confusing god with basic human decency.

  97. W.... ....

Anjezë Bojaxhiu (Mother Teresa) was just a person taking care of other people. Just because you've decided she works for a character in an ancient book doesn't mean anyone should believe that.
