This man. This glorious man. His song cigarettes got me through a terrible breakup. And ledges helped me pick up the pieces. To the lyrics of day is gone I cried when I lost my grandparents. He's been there, I hope he doesn't disappear.

I know he's considered indie folk, but to me, this is the closest to modern country I'll ever get to. This to me sounds like the old school country I enjoy.

This made me cry

I danced to Noah's Ledges album at my wedding. This man is a talent that deserves recognition. This song is exactly what I need to hear at times, while other songs tell another story. He's a story teller and I love his entire body of work.

Haven’t check in with Noah for a long while, but used to watch the Gunderson family sing together (stone cold broke in the middle of the winter) pretty regularly when my spirit needed company. Robin Williams was the hardest celebrity for me to lose. Never felt much touched by celebrity deaths before him, but he reminded me so much of my dad— his humor kind of raised me; his depictions of love informed that ideal in my mind, especially in What Dreams May Come. I just wanted to grow up to be that kind of man. Funny and honest and loving. I even heard from his wife, Zelda, in an interview that he kept on dating other women through his life. I don’t know. To be a complicated man with his vices, his depression and mental health deterioration, but to keep standing up as a Human with his heart in his hand.
Thanks for making this, Noah. I’m listening through the radio waves tonight.

This week a close friend of mine decided to end his life. He was a beautiful mind and an obnoxiously talented songwriter. He gave all to his relationships and music but it wasn’t enough in the end. He wrote one of my favorite albums of all time and it not just because he was my friend, it was a true work of art. Yet, no one bought it, let alone heard it. I feel this song hard and it’s almost comforting the unfortunate inevitability of life we share.

Support your friends while they live, be their champion, don’t say “if only...”, buy their records, make sure they know you love them. Not a lot actually matter in this world but our connections to each other are everything.

@Grollum That he does, one of my favorite songs he wrote. All of his songs had some hidden or not so hidden truth about his life, I don't think I met a person who wrote more honestly.

So, I"m listening to his stuff now and it's really good. I definitely feel the pain he was projecting into songs like, "coping". The industry is so saturated right now, there are so many good artists that go unrecognized. I'm really sorry for your loss, and glad he can live through the music and people like you spreading the word.
Hopefully humanity will finally learn what really matters: connecting with one another.

A year ago after Scott took his life and Noah played the most beautiful cover of Heads Roll Off in tribute, I was really struggling with death. And watching my heroes check out early. Like how am I supposed to keep it together when these absolute giants of the arts cannot...

It was getting so hard. Medication did nothing. My attempts at art did nothing. Just the white-knuckle routine as usual.

Fast forward a year later and my first dmt trip turned all that upside down, and left me reaching for life without any vice or crutch at all.

I love you man. This song is the absolute truth. It couldn't be more on the nose.

I wish we could all go back to pre internet culture, before mp3 convenience. When we were still crossing state lines to find records and friendship with no preview of what was in store. Today, with the modern death of world mysteries, only the great mystery is left to loom above our heads, each moment of each day. But now I know that we are not alone. Not at all.
