Guess Who, The - No Time Lyrics

(No time left for you)
On my way to better things
(No time left for you)
I'll find myself some wings
(No time left for you)
Distant roads are calling me
(No time left for you)
Mm-da, mm-da, mm-da, mm-da, mm-da

No time for a summer friend
No time for the love you send
Seasons change and so did I
You need not wonder why
You need not wonder why
There's no time left for you
No time left for you

(No time left for you)
On my way to better things
(No time left for you)
I'll find myself some wings
(No time left for you)
Distant roads are calling me
(No time left for you)
Mm-day, mm-gay, mm-day, mm-gay, mm-day

No time for a gentle rain
No time for my watch and chain
No time for revolving doors
No time for the killing floor
No time for the killing floor
There's no time left for you
No time left for you

No time for a summer friend
No time for the love you send
Seasons change and so did I
You need not wonder why
You need not wonder why
There's no time left for you
No time left for you

No time, no time, no time, no time
No time, no time, no time, no time

I got, got, got, got no time
I got, got, got, got no time
I got, got, got, got no time
No, no, no, no, no, no, no time
No, no, no, no, no, no, no time
I got, got, got, got no time
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no time
I got no time, got no time, got no time, no time, got no time
Got no time, got no time

    Pirates of Silicon valley?

  22. P.... W....

The Guess Who were a fittingly-named band, in that they didn't have a consistent sound and a real knack for sounding like other bands. American Woman sounds dead-on like Led Zeppelin and this one sounds a bit like Buffalo Springfield. Though I'll add they sound like *really good* songs by Zeppelin and Buffalo Springfield, up there with the best from those bands, so there was some definite talent there. No idea how they went from this to "Clap for the Wolfman", though.

  23. T.... P....

  33. S.... K....

WHO KNOWS WHAT WAS THE KILLING FLOOR????

    S.... K....

It was where they killed animals in a slaughterhouse. When African-American people migrated from Mississippi to Chicago one of the few places where they could get decent paying work was in the meat packing industry. Beginning in 1931 with Skip James "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues" the "killing floor" is mentioned in dozens of old blues songs as a metaphor for hard times or a bad situation. I think it is in the later sense that Burton Cummings is using the term.

    What are killing floors?

    S.... B....

The place in the slaughterhouse where the killing takes place. The killing floor has a drain to collect the blood usually.

  51. S.... S....

    Burt Cummings voice is awesome.

  52. H.... H....

AMAZING. Im 62.5 yrs and i havent heard this in about 25 yrs or more. In those yrs ive been getting a calling from the Big Man up stairs. Churches taught me that religion was a distraction from Christ. This morn I had a spiritual dream, and A song was loud in the background. I remembered the music and studied my dream. 'NoTime'? Is this what I was dreaming. It was devestating backdrop and someone calling out me out from a distance and this music with some lyrics. So I search it on YT. 'NO TIME!' by GuessWho! Band? or YGOD. Seasons changed and so have I, I got no time. "CheckMate" Rapture coming now this season.

  53. A.... W....

this song is old as dirt & still great.
the british invasion was a time life happening that'll never happen again. todays generation got jipped.

    A.... W....

Ann Wilson - just an additional thought, “The Guess Who” originated in Winnipeg Manitoba and swept south to the U.S. The British Invasion brought a different band, “The Who”, from across the pond. But it was a great time of original music when publicists and producers weren’t choking life out of truthful art.

    A.... W....

@Easy Going yes but they were all a part of it. it wasn't just bands from other countries. yes it was quite an experience.

    A.... W....

Ann Wilson - quite an experience, you betcha! ✌️
