Logic's beat is absolutely fire, No one can deny that at all. But what do you guys think?.. When someone makes a great beat like "I am the greatest" is it better if it's from scratch with no samples or does it take away from creativity if samples are used?

nope that just shows how far your creativity can stretch. i mean look at J.Cole that man loves his samples and every time he rips them apart and turns it into something beautiful.

I figured the vocal part was sampled but when I found out the second part was, I kinda wished he had created something like that on his own/ at least sampled from a different track

Sampling is an art form in itself, as far as I'm concerned. DJ Shadow's endtroducing is the go to for a reminder of that. Also, it's interesting for a rapper to draw from indie pop, finding a bridge between those genres can be breathtaking sometimes. Check out kendrick's money trees and beach house's silver soul for another great instance of modern rap/hip hop drawing from modern indie pop/dream pop
