Grits - They All Fall Down Lyrics

[coffee]
Blood curdling truth
Working the word in as proof
Besides mine the guidlines of righteous paths taken
Tremendous speaking, fresh out the kitchen
And never switching from the homegrown
Hole it down like the ozone
This is for the playa playa
Make ya holla holla
The kid with no morals
Sell his mama for a dollar
They all fall down
They all fall down
They all fall down
They all fall
I've compiled this alongside with bone
So you can file this under for the opposing a nihilist
Doubt what you know nothing about reactionary
Belief in the scripture's fulfillment are contrary
To popular belief
Hellbound in a basket
Sucking on their teeth
Wound up in a casket
At close, you froze
Already chose the doors you go trough
The life you chose to lead
Determines the place you go to

[hook]
To the naked, untrained eye
Who can't see time fly by
Revolving on a carousel
Living life like a modern day fairytale...
Slow mo', urgent message gets a no-go
What fo'
Can't nobody tell you
Everything is lovey dovey
Till your plans fall through...
They all fall down [x3]
They all fall

[coffee]
Lay it down flat
The ins and outs of this business
Oral with my morals
Things i say seem pretentious
Show change
I ain't deranged
To be looked upon strange
Like the dames in the verbs joint (shoot, we the factors)
You ain't know neah
Rally all my troops in GI Joe gear
Arsenals and weapons abundant
Stop me if I sound redundant

[bonafide]
Sound redundant
Man please appease me
Repeat yourself
Most folks scared of the truth
Living lies
Fooling themselves and everyone surrounding
Deception of perception blind
To what self did deep down
Deep down beyond the black hole
of the soul in control

[hook]
They all fall [x2]

[bonafide]
I was surrounded by the darkness
Of the hearts of mens
Plots for spots to roll rovers
Controlling blocks and lots on top
Where I was charted to be
But failing to see truth
Behind the lies of eyes
Handling G's
They squeeze until my soul was unloaded
Holding to nothing
But folded bills
Concealed like weapons looking to kill
My mind filled
With thrills and pleasures
Life could offer
Walked amongst the dead
Laid to rest in a coffin
Nocturnal destiny
Leading to my eternity
Hourly concerning me
Yet I wasn't yearned
To be all of what
His calling said to be
And bred to be
Actually I thought it was all about me
Took for granted what was handed by the unseen
Invested all my time and effort
Building C
Appealing to my desires
And lustful feelings
Thinking I could make it by the grace of God
Straight disgrace the face of God

[hook]
They all fall [x2]

Its sad that even now, people havent learned the lesson these lyrics preach to. I read recently of so many hip hop artists either in jail or dead due to drugs or guns. It seems that the lessons are never really learned unless God Himself opens our eyes spiritually. Underrated by the way, I too was jamming to this in the year of the Matrix :)

I like this it sounds old school

  47. t.... ....

I watched a man dying of dengue fever last night. The monitor showed his vitals dropping rapidly. He was non-responsive. Then his eyes changed to blank and glassy, and he flatlined. A week ago it was just life as usual for him. He had no idea what was coming. I'm living in an epidemic zone; I see the truth of this song daily; I see them all fall down. We really should give a bit more thought to how we live and what's on the other side.

  48. o.... ....

    Why don't you be a Muslim? :)

  49. D.... ....

    right on

  60. J.... C....

@TheBiggestBillboard Keep being arrogant. See how far it gets you

  61. D.... J....

    old skool Grits!

  62. J.... C....

I keep reading all these comments about judgment and hypocrisy blah blah blah. It's not about any of that. What it has everything to do with is a personal relationship with Christ. End of Story!

  63. P.... P....

It's amazing all the things you humans have to debate about. I live for GOD not mankind. Read this very carefully ---- It's not what Kirk Franklin, GRITS, Lecrae, TD Jakes, or anybody on this earth has to say what Christian is, it's what the WORD of GOD says. I will not live to follow man, I follow man who follows the WORD of GOD. We as people better start listening and reading GODs WORD. Lord open their eyes. Love ya'll be blessed. 116 it.. (I say that instead of 100 or 1 Love... get it)

  64. d.... ....

GO C DECEVIO AND NEW WEST ORDERS MUSIC ON YOTUBE 2012

  65. R.... B....

@fifreek I'm sorry about your previous experience with Christians. If it helps, not all of us are like that. I'm sure that the ones you hung out with were just caught up in the whole fitting in stage, and hopefully by now they grew out of it.

  66. M.... ....

  67. T.... ....

The Grits were the truth.i got they first 2 albums

  68. a.... ....

  69. j.... ....

    Nice one :).

  70. G.... O....

gritz on that level since day 1

  71. T.... A....

they are talented rappers then they are gospel rappers and then they are GRITS....grammatical revolution in the spirit is what their acrnym stands for...they are supposed to represent death coming to take souls of each and everyone of us when our earthly time is up. Their chorus depicts our not wasting time on the trivial things that do not save the soul of man with regards to the pride of life for they all fall down. Hence we all should count time and serve GOD for that is the whole duty of man

  72. a.... ....

@thecall4 u sound like me finally we've gotten a clue

  77. e.... ....

@kenb97835071 she's symbolic of the lust of the flesh....cats fall down due to their own lusts

  78. A.... F....

Amaizing!!! I love this song!! great message!

  79. D.... M....

    @mikelunz Exactly! Amen brother!

  80. Z.... ....

@mauea1 hes a steeler fan man wat do u expect haha

  81. m.... ....

@steelerfan2004 This has to be one of the most ridiculous arguments I've ever heard. Grits is reaching a crowd that other artists who write worship songs can't. Besides, who's to say that they aren't using this opportunity to witness to other rappers or people backstage that we don't know about? Not every worship song explicitly says God's name in the words anyway (example: Beautiful One), but we know who we're singing it to. What's important is that we're singing the words of praise to God.

  82. B.... B....

    why is everyone dancing around

  83. H.... ....

    i love this song

  84. J.... ....

    like better the remix

  85. G.... ....

    off the hook! "

  86. T.... E....

    Righteous! I love it!

  87. j.... ....

Mike i agree with you 100%. Steelerfan wears blinders and likes to play God and point out what he/she thinks is wrong with peoples walk with Christ. I didn't take the non-musician route, but i agree with you. i think if God gave you talent and you use it to benefit his kingdom then you are giving him praise. For instance Tim Tebow, the way he plays football is in a way praise to God because God gave him talent and he uses it to witness to a multitude of people. Mat 7:3

  88. M.... L....

how do you know I dont follow the bible? You mean there is little wisdom on part of Jesus? How dare you.. I was basing what I said off of the fruits of the spirit. Accepting Christ resurrected from the dead, and baring the fruits of the spirit is what proves someone who has Yeshua. You need to do more research, because you are not in a state to judge or condemn.. Everything I said makes sense.. you spelled sense wrong.

  89. M.... L....

The only thing that matters in weighing the fruit that they bare is the message in their lyrics. If I write a song about my x-grilfriend because I was emotionally driven to do so, then that is just that. The fact that I wrote that song, was in the glory of God because I utilized my talent and did not waste it. As a christian, however, I would not preach or send a message contrary to the teachings of Christ. I write songs all the time that make me worship God! God gave me the groove!

  90. M.... L....

actually, all of you are kind of taking this non-musician approach to understanding what is going on here. Music, to a musician, is a way to express whatever it is you are feeling or going through. Just because you did not write a worship song does not mean that you are going against the bible. Forgive me if I am misunderstanding your take. You have to remember that just because a christian does not write a song about Jesus, does not mean really anything other then they felt like writing a song.

  91. j.... ....

I'm sorry that you're so closed minded that you can't see that music like this is Christian music and that Christians can sing catchy tunes that don't have to be "praise and worship" music. I'm not going to run in circles with you anymore because your facts are hollow and you refuse to take the blindfold off and see other points of view with an open mind. I wish you well and i recommend Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell, i think it would do you well to read it.

  92. j.... ....

did you not read the lyrics to the song? how can you say that isn't praise to God? saying he's not deranged to be looked upon as strange? since you can't wrap your mind around metaphors that is saying he's not afraid to be a Christian. The problem isn't with the scripture it's with you and your failure to think outside of what you've been taught. This would be what's wrong with organized religions, too many follow pastors and not Christ.

  93. j.... ....

Since you're to ignorant to look up the lyrics to this song i thought i would highlight the lines that pertain to God or faith:
    Blood curdling truth
Working the word in as proof
Besides mine the guidlines of righteous paths taken

So you can file this under for the opposing a nihilist
Doubt what you know nothing about reactionary
Belief in the scripture's fulfillment are contrary

    I ain't deranged
    To be looked upon strange

    To be all of what
    His calling said to be
    And bred to be

  94. j.... ....

i'm not going against the bible, your failure to understand the English language is what is our hold up. The meaning of unto from Websters: 1. To 2. until; till. Grits is signing UNTO the Lord like the bible says. It's really not that complicated. If i have a conversation about football with God, then i am having a conversation UNTO God about football. If grits is signing a song for God about how the world has it wrong, the they are SINGING UNTO THE LORD. Just like the scriptures say.

  95. j.... ....

    well said.

  96. j.... ....

Ok this is going nowhere, zionfreak (an 11yr old) can understand this and you cannot. it's fine, they are your beliefs. i'm not asking you to believe what i believe, i just ask you have an open mind and think about it. Again the scripture says sing UNTO him, not sing ABOUT him. it's like saying go talk to God vs go talk about God. Also if the lyrics are the most important thing does that mean if Metallica sang Worthy is the lamb, it would be considered a praise song?

  97. j.... ....

I've been a Christian for over 20 years. I don't like organized religion as i think it kills the free will that God gave us. I have a personal walk with Christ and that's all i need. If you listen to Grits you'll see that they praise the Lord with instruments and if you like their style they are making a joyful song to him. I'm referring to lyrically the Word never says what to say. The lyrics mean nothing if your heart doesn't belong to God, Grits hearts do though.

  98. j.... ....

Wow, just Wow. Your failure to comprehend anything is astounding. Never do i say to not follow the bible, and i point out that the scriptures you quote have nothing to say about HOW to praise God, just that you should praise him. The bottom line that your ignorant self cannot fathom is that you are not God therefore you cannot say what is and isn't Praise to him. To answer your questions; follow Christ and the bible, but try to understand it along the way.
