I played this song after my best friend in the whole world died. I had her for nineteen years and love her more then life. Her name was Ruby and she was born under my aunt's bed. She was a litter of four and I choose her. I now have her ashes and when it's my time my daughter is to combine our ashe and let us float away out to sea

I like this song so much my teacher disided we are going to sing it to the whole school and the other classes will be singing something else but I think this song will be the best out of the whole entirer school

Just spent a weekend camping at a yoga retreat, where we all came together to celebrate life. On the way home, my iPod played this, and I had forgotten how absolutely amazing Patty Griffin is. A truly talented songwriter. This song conveys in just a few short minutes some of the most profound themes for life. What a joy to rediscover. Also, the video have made here is truly special. Thank you for posting this. I listened to this song dozens of times the day after we lost our son. It comforted my wife and me and somehow helped us through the pain. To me, the song is about grief and weathering the storm that is life. "The little dreams we dream are all that we can really do". Thank you Patty for this gift of a song.
