Gregory And The Hawk - Kill the Turkey Lyrics
Kill the turkey, shoot him down
Pluck his feathers, make him ground
Make burgers, kill the cow
Slit his throat, let him bleed
Make steaks, make burgers
Kill the beast, who took our dirt
Oh, black gold
But if you want it bad enough
Oh if you want it bad enough
Keep your eyes on the prize
Keep your eyes on the prize
Keep your eyes on the prize
Keep your eyes on the prize
Kiss the clever, one who said
You made your bed
Now lie in it, die in it
Kiss the shit, that hit the fan
When you went and killed
Another man
But if you want it bad enough
If you want it bad enough
Keep your eyes on the prize
Keep your eyes on the prize
Keep your eyes on the prize
Keep your eyes on the prize

shut up vegans i`m GAY.
wow we stan.
Still love this song!
This song is about how we, humans would kill another man (for oil, and money -- the prize). Morbid and cruel like how we slaughter animals, hence the beginning with killing the turkey.
This is why you need to eat meat. Veganism makes you dumb and your bones fragile, too. Lmfao
This song is sick and twisted
Kill the turkey, shoot him down
Pluck his feathers, make him ground
Make burgers, kill the cow
Slit his throat, let him bleed
Make steaks, make burgers
Good to eat
Kill the beast, who took our dirt
Oh, black gold

FLAG MARCH
My ancestors are from the top to the bottom,
They are the star of the month.
They are wrapped in a cloud,
The red color is red.
His fire red,
What a ferret, no laugh.
It is the true blood of the Turkish Son,
Give him this color.
Moon star, sky,
Higher than Ayla star.
It is the foreing of the Turk,
The Turk will glorify it.
Vazifemdir my flag,
Superior to every flag.
Life-giving, blood-

Her music style and the way she sings reminds me of Melanie Martinez and Nicole Dollanganger
vegans favourite song.
but seriously I'm vegan and love this song..but it maybe be more to do with fact I love gregory and the hawk
It has something to do with a war, I think.
Haha I became vegan about 4 years ago when I was 22, and I just rediscovered this musician now, who I listened to when I was 17. And I'd never listened to this song, so it's interesting.
There are so many songs that musicians write about human strife where they use animal cruelty as analogies. The thing is that if you're vegan, you know how ridiculous it is that people use these analogies to support a moral meaning when they don't give a dime about the moral of the words they're using directly.... they just decided that humans and not other animals are deserving of empathy.
Like the song "Donna Donna":
On a wagon bound for market
There's a calf with a mournful eye
High above him there's a swallow
Winging swiftly through the sky
"Stop complaining", said the farmer
Who told you a calf to be
Why don't you have wings to fly with
Like the swallow so proud and free
Calves are easily bound and slaughtered
Never knowing the reason why
But whoever treasures freedom
Like the swallow has learned to fly
The song describes something that literally happens constantly all over the world... a calf that is taken away from their mother to be sold and slaughtered. From birth to death a "farm" animal has no freedom.
And yet the culture related to this song says that it's meant to refer to the struggle of Jews towards being free.
Regularly the factual cruelty towards animals is turned into an analogy to human suffering as though we're the only ones whose pain is worth empathising with.
Meanings behind songs can be subjected to barriers even by the creator. A song made by someone can have more undiscovered meanings, if they're willing to see it that way.
Vegans can't stop talking about veganism. Lmfao
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
sad song
This song is very interesting and different from most songs that I've heard before, I really like this song. Thanks for posting it! I don't think that anyone else has posted this song.
I hear this song, and it just makes me hungry, at least the first few stanzas.
Then do it.
It's a long time since I heard Gregory And The Hawk. She is amazing! ❤
This song is about the war, not vegetarianism. Deal with it.
Deal with yourself.
such an amazing song...thank you for this..
I'm a vegetarian and I was hoping you would give me some of your tips. I dont know how to message you because YouTube changed.
Hooray for vegetarianism.....
this actually isnt about vegitarianism....
its weird she has pretty hard songs to play...
Im gonna go eat turkey haha
@iLykeLions
I think you just described how every person reacts to every video on Youtube, given their opinion.
This song isn't about vegetarianism in the slightest.. Meredith herself has stated that she is not opposed to eating animals, and that the meaning of this song has nothing to do with that subject. Just so all you know.
d-d-....d'awwwwww ;O;
@iLykeLions LUKY person I cannot do it
Damn yoh, I want some grilled turkey leg right about now. Circle of life get the fuck over it.
I was just a meat eater. But this song makes me want to KILL things. Turkeys, robins, hippy singers.
Yeah, the song isn't about vegetarianism. Meredith was slightly offended that people assumed it was just about vegetarianism... the meaning is slightly more deep than that. It's about how people do whatever it takes to get what they want, whether that means killing a turkey or killing a human.
Also, I've been a vegetarian my whole life, all fifteen years. :)
thank you
this is about the war in iraq, not vegetarianism. hahaha
@iLykeLions i cant do it Im a meat lovers
I'm gonna be a vegitarion from now on......it makes me wanna cry
This makes me want to be a vegetarian so badly.
so good.
i love it. this what u need to do too succeed
I love this song. it's kinda dark but it's so pretty. love the message too.
It's not, A lot fo people ask Meredith if it's about veg and she always says that it's not.
I suspect that it may be about teh Iraqui War "Kill the beast who took our dirt/ Oh black gold"
Or about being so motivated by your goal that you don't care about who gets hurt.
