Gregg Allman - Shadow Dream Song Lyrics
I meant to call her name
I meant to take her hand
I meant to be the same and understand
Just what was happening
In the evening
Oh yeah
I can't be bothered now
Cannot eat or drink
I can't remember how I used to think
What was that song she sang
In the morning
About the princess and the prince
Yeah, yeah
She has about her in the day
She s a laughing dapple shadow
Yes, she's a laughing dapple shadow
In my mind
Mmm, yeah
If I could hear her voice
If I could see her face
If I could wish and be most any place
Be where I saw her last
On that evening past
With the princess and the prince
Yeah
The princess and the prince

Gregg Allman the Greatest White Blues Man this world will ever know
His music lives on forever!!🎼🎤🎹🎸🎶⚓💙
this song sounds like THESE DAYS song
I miss this man.....
Priceless,🎶🎤🎹🎶✌🍄🍄🕊🕊
GREAT song written by Jackson Browne when he was very young. RIP Gregg!
I am not being malicious when I say this; Around the time he recorded this, Greg was so tied into smack and other things that he fairly well became his own worst enemy. I am very tired of being manipulated into heralding and sympathizing with rock stars who are given so much and then basically ruin their lives despite all their advantages, i.e. money, fame, talent, opportunity. Am I supposed to feel sorry for them as they waste all that they have been given? And what about the families they create and spawn? As far as i know some of his children have had a very tough time, especially Elijah Blue. Where was his Dad when Elijah needed him? Or are we not supposed to make these observations and ask these questions? It's a great song, by the way. Jackson Browne has always been one of my favorite artists. I saw him multiple times in concert in California during the 70s.
It’s the human condition.
there but for fortune go you or I......
very beautiful song
RIP Gregory
RIP.. Love your music!!!
R.I.P Gregg.
"If I could hear her voice....if I could see her face....if I could wish and be most any place..."
Can never hear this one enough.
Sounds like something Gregg would say. Why because he lived it.
NOT AS AS GOOD AS TOM RUSH.
I READ A BOOK ON SKYNYRD AND IT SAID THE ALLMANS AND THE SKYNYRD GOT TOGETHER AND RONNIE ASKED HOW TO WRITE A SONG,AND GREGG TOLD RONNIE HE SAID YOU GET A GUITAR AND YOU SIT IN THE FLOOR AND YOU DONT GET UP UNTILL ITS FINISHED
I NEVER GET TIRED OF LISTNING TO GREG
Gregg and Jackson were roommates in college in LA.
college? ha
They may not have been in college, but they were room mates and very good friends, Gregg also recorded "These Days",that's on the Laid Back album from '73. Jackson Browne wrote "These Days", and then recorded it on his album "For Everyman", also in '73, just a little after Gregg....
Apologies. Only repeated what had once read, realizing a lot of the info on the Brothers is incorrect. Didnt think too mch on it at the time I repeated it. Basically, they crashed at the same flophouse. Hence th reason why Jackson Browne came out and played w Gregg in the All My Friends tribute. Apologies for the incorrect info.
Jackson and Gregg became close friends while Gregg was in California in the Early 70's.
Very nice
One of my all time favorite songs of Gregg's. Beautiful.
Me too!!!!!! XOXOXO
beautiful Dan!! however JB version is so awesome, but still great to hear the song by other artist. Thanks for great post and share.
I'm with you jbfan2000. But I still love what Gregg has done for Jackson and by recording four of Jackson's songs including one that was nearly on his death bed. Jackson was the only artist that he asked to perform with him on that album. They were better friends than you might imagine. And also, according to Gregg Allman, he felt that the lines " He stopped his singing in the middle of his song " applied to his brother Duane dying so young , not himself . Still love your channel. Please take no offense.
Rare beauty!
One of the most misunderstooded & underrated album ever...
thanks for post it!
Hey, did you do this just for me? I love this song....one of Gregg's best performances.
