Greg Graffin - Making Time Lyrics

Just another day of sorrow going down
Like the road unfurled behind you leaving town
In the morning's cold reflection of yesterday
Comes the chill of where ya been and what ya paid

There's a place up ahead and far along
Far away from the past that seems to draw
All mistakes you forgot and carried on

Making time
Making time

All that wasted toil and trouble running away
When the only thing that matters is today

There's a place up ahead and far along
Far away from the past that seems to draw
All mistakes you forgot and carried on

Making time
Making time
Making time
Making time

Out among the windswept
Pikes and lonely purple canyons
Wisdom is written in the signs
All that's in the past is so impossible to fix or refine

Making time
Making time
Making time
Making time

Fantastic song! What I get from it is about how we shouldn't dewndell on the past too much and look ahead and live in the now. Different from Br new Amreica album which is about the mermories he was stuck in.

Greg was going through a divorce at the time, that's why he was self reflecting on The New America. He just remarried recently, that is why he is now looking forward. The depths to which relationships shape our perceptions cannot be understated.Greg is happy now,and it shows in not only the mood, but the quality of his art.

Good positive vibes and words in these comments :) maybe Greg inspires that in us. Really reminds me of BR with a country twist. With Greg's timeless lyrics and poetic intent and the harmonies it really reminds me of BR. But this is GREAT music. CHEERS ALL!

Beautiful melody! I had the pleasure of meeting DR. GRaffin in person last year and he was very kind and gentle, like his music.
It`s always great to see that he keeps making great music for the rest of us to listen to. Can`t wait for the album to be released!

I have been waiting for this for far too long. I have been a Bad Religion fan since I was 13 (I'm 26 now). I was brought up on bluegrass with Doc Watson R.I.P. and Scruggs, and many others. My favorite albums are Legion, Cold as the Clay, and the Rounder Banjo Extravaganza . Either way, I'm just very excited to hear this album. It makes me feel like a damn schoolgirl. Dr. Graffin is a lyrical and musical genius.

I wanted to add that I travel for 8 months of the year for my job, and all I listen to is either Greg Graffin or Bad Religion. Well, when my truck as stolen in Woodland, CA some bastard stole my stereo faceplate and left the truck on the side of the interstate. That was a long trip back to Indiana. I sang "Sorrow" and "Highway" like a million times.

I have been a fan of BR since I was 13 too, and now I am 43 :P !!! I always go back to them. I hope they live for ever.

  24. S.... J....

Haha, this is awesome! I can TOTALLY imagine playing this on road trips! Cannot wait for Millport to drop!

  25. U.... C....

Greg e seu velho Folk. Com o pessoal do Social D. Excelente.

    F Clecio realmente, muito bom

    U.... C....

F Clecio Tomara que ele lance o álbum no Brasil também!

    U.... C....

Cold as the Clay não saiu. Acho que esse não sairá, infelizmente. Pra não ficar sem a coleção BR+American Lesion+Greg G., acabei pedindo no kingsroad, que é onde o Greg vende os livros e outras coisas. Saiu por $28 Trumps

  26. r.... c....

Kind of a Neil Young vibe to me
