Green, Peter - When It All Comes Down Lyrics
The world goes round no one knows what it all means
You're still out there looking for a brand new scene
And I'm still here never have been hard to find
When new gets old I'll be playing on your mind
When it all comes down look for me I'll still be around
The day will come when there's nothing new to see
And then you'll know here is where you want to be
You know my song used to take your heart away
That same old feel is going to bring you back to stay

No doubt about his guitar playing, but that voice was pure magic as well. 💚💚💚
#greenieforever💚
#💚thebest💚
How about starting a movement to get him added, through social media?
I think this is about a man who's killed the love of his life & is now going to kill himself. He destroyed his soul mate & wants to join her. How poignant & oh so sad. Nobody could've played this or sung about this heartfelt confession better than Peter Green.
What a talent
Such an unsung hero. Best tone and vocals!
B.B. King knows heart when he hears it. I'll trust his judgement. Don't remember this gem. Thanks for sharing.
what a magic this guy has! God bless PG
Ive not heard this recording before.Used to watch him on the London blues circuit in the 60's.Magic,love you Peter!
Greeny!!!
Little Dreamer - 1980.
Is this not the best??
My fav tune. . Thank u for the upload.
This should be one of those unifying classics that almost everyone knows and loves... But I prefer the fact that it's one of those secret gems that only we know about.
Thank You William!!! I love Peter ....
He initially become known for his masterful Les Paul playing. Here he shows equal sensitivity to the Strat. They're two very different instruments; Peter is great with both.
This is such an outstandingly well-written and touching song from by Peter's brother Mike. If you analyse the words, it's a suicide note from a man to his lover, who he has possibly killed - "I held your life in my hands... It was love, and jealous rage." Most of the song hints at it, leading to the line toward the end "And on that hill, and from that tree; Baby, when the sun goes down, I shall be free" - the words of a man intending to hang himself.
Heartbreaking, and beautifully sung by Peter.
que maravilla
totally agreed
nemuritoare piesa
Genius but tortured. If ever drugs were held to blame then Green & Kirwan are classic victims. We all need to escape but drugs & drink aren't the answer. Maybe the guitar & music weren't enough.
Underrated guitarist and composer
Without black magic woman. Santana didnt get fame
Even gary moore rip told that green was great
Ironically Phil Lynott wrote a song "Sun goes down" another tortured genius. Sad.
A fantastic sad song. PG can even make murder & suicide sound good.
Britians most talented musician..
The Peter Green footprint!!!
🌺 🌸 🌼🌴
Njen kralj zvao se Peter Green
Shades of green
bella sempre
Linda canção! Very good!
Great song.
Lyric videos remind me of church or school Just saying. I mean, that's why I don't like them.
Peter Green is absolutely a blues man who knows how to make that Les Paul talk.
very good, indeed!!
Great musician
In my mind no one can surpass him, so much feeling. Long live the Green god!
Ducaralho!
Peter *G* , was one of the few like Hendrix, who could actually sing and pull off riffs simultaneously.
Peter Green was far superior to Jimi Hendrix. Nobody in Britain had seen the likes of the showmanship that a lot of American black guitar players used like Jimi. Most on the circuit played behind their backs, with their teeth etc. Not saying Jimi wasn't superb but Peter Green was the superior player & just oozes soul. Less is more being his motto. This is my opinion only, others will no doubt think differently. Variety is the spice of life & l like both but much prefer Peter Green.
I love this song
He talks about suicide at the end. I never noticed until I looked at the subtitled version.
Great, epic staff!!!
Peter Green Unique!!!!!!!!!
Baby When The Sun Goes Down
Peter Green
Shadows fall, children play
And baby when the sun goes down
They go away
But these pains here inside
Baby when the sun goes down
I cannot hide
Without you
Baby when the sun goes down
Without you
Shades of blue, shades of green
And baby when the sun goes down
They can't be seen
But these chains that bind my heart
Now baby when the sun goes down
These will remain
Without you
Baby when the sun goes down
Without you
Had your life in my hands
And baby when the sun goes down
Please understand
That it was love and jealous rage
Baby when the sun goes down
I'll have to pay
On more day,
Just one more dream,
And baby when the sun goes down
Then they will see
And on that hill,
And from that tree,
Baby when the sun goes down
I shall be free
Without you!!!
Baby when the sun goes down!!!
Baby when the sun goes down!!!
Without you...
Baby when the sun goes down...
legend!
When there is extra money spent for backup singers and orchestra...when they engineer the song like a Fleetwood Mac song it sounds like one because it is the source of the sound from Peter Green.
haaate deees hOes in da ground ...gravity too...kinda like da sound ...N foolin a roun

Southside Johnny does a good version of this classic on YouTube.
Raymond Renaud , in my timeless soul i can't help but to feel a little sympathy for the serpent. on that hill, in that tree. He brung forth mankinds mortal clock. When the sun goes down that last day. i shall have to pay. Without you heavenly Father. My lost shadow sheds its darkest tear......with my tear my time ends bound in a crimson rust......

what a master piece!
Thank you for sharing this amazing find.
B.B.Kings say: Peter play the sweetest Guitar I ever hear
Klaus Wollenberg and he knows what he was talking about...
so beautiful
Already Peter's voice was beginning to weaken (when this was recorded) but great musicians finds ways to make the magic flow on - right out of his heart, and the ends of his fingertips. God Bless Peter Green
You are correct about Peters voice changing as time went on .
Possibly the “ treatments “ he underwent had an effect .
Having been lucky enough to meet the man I can say he is as nice a person as you could ever meet .
As you can tell I am a big fan .
In Paradise
Peter Green oh ýou steal our hearts away. On a deep spiriitual level There is a man of music legends.
@Arch Stanton Arch, My wife and i had the privilege and honour to sit with him and the splinter band for over 2 hours after a gig in the gaiety theatre Ayr Scotland. They came and sat with us in an empty lounge in the hotel they were staying in across the road from the theatre. I talked to the drummer the most as he was sitting shoulder to shoulder with me. Peter sat across facing us at our little table. He talked a little bit not much at all. The four of us were sitting next to the rest of the band at the next table that they had pulled over! I never tire telling people of that night and I never will! You're completely right. He's a pure pure gentlemen. And so humble. Peace and rock on from Ayrshire Scotland
Thank you! What a great song!
Blues Hall of Fame without Peter Green is like a tree without leaves!
Absolutely. the truth.
you said it, i agree the master at work.
Or a tree without a trunk
So sad when you/we have to state the obvious
You know it
most underrated guitarist ever. beautifull vocals too. People this good go unnoticed while someone like justin beiber gets rich and famous. Oh irony.
Christiaan Malinowski I so agree with you.
he is so good
Not unnoticed. How many clarinet players can you name? THAT's unnoticed.
Justin’s talent is nothing next to Peter’s. Most of the entertainers today are fake and are just out to be noticed and it’s all about them, not the music. Peter was and is a serious real musician who doesn’t have to have special effects to sound wonderful!
so beautiful
oh i love all his music special voice and his special guitar sound .
que música, meu Deus do céu.
Man, it's like he pushed the boundaries further than anyone I've ever heard on a guitar other than Hendrix. He was hitting space electric blues/rock by near the end of 69. Some of those GOD'S (Guitar Over-Drives)on the live sets like the 24minute version of Rattlesnake Shake, the 15 minute Green Manalishi etc were absolutely phenomenal. It's like he pushed his guitar to 'The End Of The Game'.
For all the wowser's--- if you actually listen to a few of his interviews like the whole of the 'Man of the world' interview among others & don't just listen to the Munich LSD party as an outtake you will find it was ETC that was given to him a number of times that stuffed him for so long. Sure he abused acid way too much which started to bite back as it inevitably does if you keep using it without giving the psyche time to rehabilitate & heal itself B4 fragmenting it again.
However when one considers that a threat over the phone to kill his accountant & throwing a TV out his window were the major events that caused the interventionists to sign him into a loony bin (like his younger brother) & advice from the very helpful police, i'm sure giving acid a rest for 6months would have seen him fine with no intervention other than than good insightful counseling to give LSD a rest for a good long while by someone he trusted. If he wouldn't listen some inpatient therapy for 6months without medications would have seen him right. Oh, but of course it was the acid-"RIGHT!!!"
Instead numerous bouts of ETC therapy [which is banned in most civilized societies these days (other than the very occasional psychiatrist who will administer it anyway-like in Australia there was one psychiatrist who still administered it after every other one had stopped)]& lots of psychiatric brain chemistry fiddling drugs for years even after his brother realised he was getting worse not better in psychiatric centres & got him out kept him in a cloud for so long totally unnecessarily & everybody blamed it on acid. Yeah right. These things need to be researched properly B4 damning what LOOKS LIKE was the problem!
dimethaltryptamine1 I
anyhow IT was LSD which got him into the shit situation -or am i wrong? sure It was the sum of missused things... LSD did its self too
dimethaltryptamine1 so true,Peter had the wrong treatment the wrong people to help him get better, it takes professional people xx
dimethaltryptamine1, dude, looks like youre speaking from experience. Because that crap you just posted was all over the place. All that you tried to say, at least, has its merits, but there is no way in hell you can defend taking lsd as some kind of profitable experience, if that was what you were implying. And don't think I don't, for even one second, know what I'm talking about either. I've done it all, because we both know that acid, lsd, dmt, etc, they are all different, and are produced in varying mics, as micro kilograms. I ingested these numerous times, in extremely high doses, had lots of fun and "far out" experiences, not to mention mushrooms, peyote, pcp, etc. Now I know the latter is not the same thing, however I added it to just make a reference, that in spite of all the varying ways in which persons can and did get high, I found out that it's usually, but not always, the individual who was a kind of a dipshit to begin with before they ever took their first "tab", dot, blotter, windowpane, you name it, the drugs just accentuated or exscabberated the idiocy or impairment that was already persistent and prevalent in these kinds of persons. I can't speak on Peter Green case, I don't know him, but I've known quite a few like him that the "world" would just simply like to blame the drugs for their erratic and seemingly unstable, anti social behavior. Maybe that's you're point you are making about Mr greens "dementia", but it's like you said, you could put Sigmund Freud through electrical shock treatment and before long he'd be a frick'n bugs bunny cartoon just waiting to happen as well. Who wouldn't? You take care of yourself and keep posting. There's a lot of young people that may be getting introduced to these kinds of "temptations", ie, psychoactive drugs, I don't know. As far as I know, there isn't any lsd being made in too many quantities to be of any impact on society like it was in the 60s" and the 70s. Nowadays all they can get that I ever hear about is opioids, crack, meth, etc, and I guess there's more, I don't know. It's no wonder there is so much violence and psychopathic tendencies associated with the drug usage of today. Back in my day, you had Qualudes, hash, acid, barbituates, and weed, as your mainstay. And trust me, these would only mellow you out, make you want to just sit in a room, listen to some good ole Peter Green, etc and just chill the hell out. That's about all you could do. We had a saying back in them days, it went like this, "THE MAIN THANG, IS TO MAINTAIN". What that basically meant was, shut the hell up, chill the hell out, and don't act a fool. Peace out, rl
You said it ,
dimethaltryptamine1
- that´s true!
Really felling the tones of these songs!
@gHSTS & gUITARS This beautiful, but sad song song was written by his brother, Michael. It's a great song with depth, and sung beautifully by Peter.
It's only when you get to the last verse you realise you're listening to a man about to hang himself.
c'est un mec que j'adore pour son engagement
Simple, genuine, and very nice
parenting done right brought me here
Marigona Ulaj I'd die for a Woman like you.
Yeah. . . I regret not being more assertive toward her on this topic, but as luck had it, my kiddo fell for a Deadhead (WITH his shit together (read - he has a job ; ) ) Garcia was never quite Greenie-caliber, but close enough. BS aside, this is ONE INCREDIBLE SOLO . . . thanx!!!!!!!!!
I love this mans deep feelings!!!
muito bom
does anyone know what album this song appeared in? thanx.
Little Dreamer
@Emotion Connect thank you :)

A good idea of perfection for a singer playing guitar at the same time. The rest of the band ensures the job peacefully and softly and nicely, and Peter Green brings us to the skies. This song has to be listened on the "La Saline" beach in Reunion Island at around 6. p.m, worth. There are no other players able to perform such a piece of pleasure with this sweet sound. This song makes me crazy, even if I listened to it a million times. Un chef d'oeuvre !
After Peter Greens very hard years 1970 - 1979 he made a come back with the record "in the skies". All the songs are VERY god, but Apostle stands out. Its not what you hear every day!! Please enjoy that classic.
In The Skies is Green's best work and one of my favorite music albums overall.
SUPERNATURAL
This is very god, a bit like "Feeling God" The feeling is Supernatual.
Thanks...
Absolutely stunning... there's no words to describe this masterpiece:')

This is actually written by Peter's brother Michael I think!!
I've always thought he was.
awesome, probably theee greatest blues guitarist EVER
thanks for the upload
HauptmanNase I agree Peter is one of the best if not the best, and also Rory Gallagher is amazing too, and Peter and Rory have songs together also! Which means they were pals so that makes me even happier haha
When the sun goes down I have to pay....
You can find a chords, ask google.
awesome !! i like to have the guitar chords for that song....?
We probably won't see the likes of a duo like Green/Kirwan ever again..The BEST.
Where are the chords posted?? Yes, this is such a wonderful tune. hard to believe that someone wrote the songs that he did. ummm
yes he is. ask gary moore.
One of my all time greatest
he is the best, isn't he?
So very beautyful. Loved this one for many years.
If anyone knows a good sound, it's you, Grandma Mary!
German Rockband "Ramrods" performed this song a couple of times on stage. It is nor on their current album "Love is the answer" (SAOL) but might be on the next one. You can watch it on youtube if you put in Ramrods Baby when...
Well at sixty-something his voice is not going to sound like a young man's. But I take it he wrote this song, which is a good one, and he sings it well and plays well behind it.
Everything that is wrong with the world is Justin Bieber's fault? I blame Rousseau.
One Dislike...hmmmm....nice try Bieber!
Excellent
