Green, Peter - Man Of The World Lyrics

Shall I tell you about my life
They say I'm a man of the world
I've flown across every tide
And I've seen lots of pretty girls

I guess I've got everything I need
I wouldn't ask for more
And there's no one I'd rather be
But I just wish that I'd never been born

And I need a good woman
To make me feel like a good man should
I don't say I'm a good man
Oh, but I would be if I could

I could tell you about my life
And keep you amused I'm sure
About all the times I've cried
And how I don't want to be sad any more
And how I wish I was in love

Green, Peter Man Of The World Comments

Who is the other guitarist with peter, nigel watson ? A great version

  2. I.... B....

I’ve been involved in lots off bands for 40 years and never seen any one better ,,,,,, what the fuck I’m going to do in the future I don’t no how can I play in a band that is as good as god ...... Peter green no one will ever be as good if they are I will be dead lol

  3. A.... N....

    Que barbaridad!!! Sublime!!!

  4. M.... ....

Why not show Peter's pic on the vid?

  5. g.... *....

    Mesmerizing.

  6. p.... ....

I'm going to leave the link below here for those who don't know the backstory. I won't likely be responding to objections because I know very well that many minds are made up. But let me add that I personally KNEW The Children of God (COG) -- since renamed at least twice -- back in the 70s, witnessed their community and misconduct first hand, rescued my adolescent niece and toddler nephew from their hands before they could be kidnapped and taken to a commune in Libya, and my attorney still has both originals and some copies of the literature that the COG tried to eradicate/destroy at the orders of their cult leader, David Rubin aka Moses David or "dad." This literature documents their creepy views about the "healthiness" of training children in the ways of sex.

BTW, the people I knew in COG were young, idealistic, and searching for stability in a confused and terrifying world; it still is. David Rubin aka "Moses David" took advantage of that; others continue to do so.

This is a beautiful piece of music and not the only one he wrote before he shipwrecked on the COG rock. I always admired his musicianship, still do, and am old enough to have seen and remember it all. But Green and even moreso Spencer have -- to my mind, at least -- a responsibility to come clean. And Green doesn't get to blame LSD or mescaline for his actions or those of others. That's a cop-out.

    https://www.xfamily.org/index.php/Jeremy_Spencer

There is a great deal more out there for those who care to search it out.

Lastly, there are a great many musicians -- I know because I worked as a musician AND promoter back in the day -- who are perfect scum; beasts. Beautiful music doesn't -- as so many seem to believe -- make for either wisdom OR a good heart. This is the reality of human life. A great many are perfect narcissists. Don't mistake self-pity for saintliness; for example. All beings possess the Ten Worlds (psychological states) from hell to enlightenment, but the point is that to grow we must take responsibility for our actions ie. our karma. Nothing else is authentic or "enlightened."

Вот это как мёдом помазал 😄

  8. M.... E....

    Where is Peter Greene?...

  9. P.... B....

Yeah why did God made a mistake

  10. J.... j....

Doesn't matter what anyone says it just wonderful to see Peter playing his songs.

  11. R.... H....

Love Peter greens guitar, The man is a legend of the British Blues ,

  12. B.... S....

how can i get this song onto a CD ?

  13. S.... I....

"i'm a man of the world, but i'm your man" -AZ

  14. D.... ....

he shoud be singing this the Fat PIG.

  15. M.... A....

This is sad..Peter Green is long lost, poor guy..The man playing his parts is phenomenal

  16. M.... A....

    The guy playing Peter's licks..he is brilliant..name?

  17. j.... w....

When BB King tells you that of all the guitarists that sat next to him and played with him, that he was impressed most by Peter Green, you stand up and take notice. That says it all.

    j.... w....

johnny wires Studio constructed and yet, I find the guitar combinations on Man of the World some of the most subtle and beautifully inspired ever, headphones, eyes closed, concentrate, two and a half minutes+ of sheer bliss, live it’s none too shabby either

    j.... w....

@Howard Jones Agreed on that one.Just find it so sad that this brilliant musician was destroyed by a German in couple when he visited Germany with the band.A crying shame that his brain got so scrambled up after he was given a substance that even today nobody knows what it was.

  18. J.... H....

If this beautiful melody doesn’t reach deep within you and make you contemplate you yourself the world around you then listen, open your mind and heart then you’ll get it.

  19. V.... j....

un super guitariste ,un talent fou

  20. D.... M....

    Bravo Hame!

  21. P.... D....

Clapton admitted "Greenie was the best" of the UK blues based guitar players - Hendrix was from Seattle. This is the kind of guitar playing I love!

Long live Maestro Green............................then play on!

  22. S.... L....

the big man with the red guitar is the true star forget Green

    S.... L....

    Green wrote the track numbskull

    S.... L....

@david hollyfield he still sucks and the fat dude smoked him. Mister Numbskull hehe

    S.... L....

@SUGAR LIFE Well, MISTER Numb, Peter wrote the solo he was playing. It's a two part guitar track and Peter plays both parts on the original (or maybe Jeremy Spencer plays the other part)... So, yeah. The fat dude did a great job of playing Peter Green's lead part, while Peter, humbly, played the backing track.

  23. m.... c....

Green had a wonderfull gifted touch on the guitar! He lost it, a lot like Syd Barret did. But he managed to fight his way back. Know Micks Daughter a little, as she lived near me for a while. Nice people :-)

  24. b.... ....

I like they left this as instrumental. I always found the lyric way too painful...

  25. D.... E....

He is STILL more FLEETWOOD MAC tha fleetwood mac

    D.... E....

Dave Elson unfortunately you’re wrong. Fleetwood Mac as it’s known will always be Lindsey’s 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ even if mick and Stevie think it’s still the drug infused 70’s. Me and no other 18 year old know Fleetwood Mac as a household name because of peter (and that’s not to insult him he’s phenomenal but Lindsey made that band after bob brought it back from the dead)

    D.... E....

@Sean Lennon well guess what you're WRONG.
The american mess known as fleetwood mac is awful.
    And guess what
I and lot of others know and knew who were Peter greens fleetwood mac were

    D.... E....

Dave Elson I am not fucking disagreeing if I didn’t like peter would I be here? No. You’re being an asshole. Fleetwood Mac are known as the Go Your Own Way band, not the Bare Trees band. Your personal opinion on Lindsey/Stevie won’t change that 😂😂

  26. S.... H....

What a beautiful piece of music.

  27. P.... G....

Oh if only I could play like this. In all fairness, Abu Hamza could do better. 😅

  28. T.... K....

i prefer listening to jeremy spencer . he is making green look good.

  29. r.... ....

    Beautiful!

  30. P.... Z....

    A beautiful song

  31. w.... m....

PG is the man, a truly magnificent guitarist and a beautiful soul, so glad he is touring again and showing us his brilliance

  32. B.... H....

    Played with feeling.

  33. w.... ....

Peter Green and Jeremie Spencer... great duo

  34. P.... ....

    Close your eyes and breathe........aaaahhhhhh.

  35. A.... T....

Nigel Martin does a good job but its NOTHING like Peter in his heyday...totally sublime..it's miracle he's alive!

  36. B.... M....

For people not familiar with Peter Green, listen to this: https://youtu.be/NLpziHTO-Nc

  37. J.... G....

Seen Pete twice with the splinter group, hearing Albatroz live from the front row was afekinmazon

  38. L.... J....

That was beautiful Nigel and Peter compliment each other

  39. T.... S....

Saw him at a pub in Stoke on Trent on his first comeback tour. Unbelievable. What a legend PG is.

  40. a.... w....

I saw him perform with his band Splinter. He had three opening acts all talented players and he with Nigel were stunning.Peter Green played the leading role and stole the show,a small venue and I felt privileged to have seen him play

  41. y.... ....

    Sublime

  42. M.... C....

Does anybody know what Nigel Watson is doing these days?
Such a talented guitarist, but he seems to have vanished off the music map!

  43. p.... g....

I saw Peter Green in the Cavern in Liverpool around this time of the video, I still think I dreamt it , absolute LEGEND. Fleetwood Mac were doing world tour at that time, and he was performing to less than 250 people in the Cavern. thats what the guy is all about.

  44. J.... C....

Never knew Hagrid was so talented with the electric guitar 🎸

    J.... C....

    Just Carlos fuck 😂😂

  45. J.... C....

    The real fleetwood mac!!

  46. b.... b....

I'd never heard of Peter green before.one day a guy gave me a recording on my phone, I played it all day for weeks and months on a construction site in a very remote part of Australia. Before the job ended I'm sure dozens and dozens of workers were playing Peter green on their devices. Amazing music, amazing talent.

  47. m.... ....

Pete has given us some of the most beautiful instumental guitar, and i still recall the first time i heard Albatross as a schoolboy in the late sixties. Absolutely stunning, thanks Peter for all your music !. So pleased when Peter and The Splinter Group formed to give us new renderings of the old favourites, Peter and the music have both been resurrected for a new generation to enjoy!,

  48. s.... w....

    Love this mans work!

  49. m.... ....

maybe the most beautiful song of peter

  50. a.... h....

Please Please don't knock Mr Green Mr Martin is a fantastic player but he did not write these tunes Mr green did and lets not forget that fact.

We all go through shit times in our lives do we not some of our own making some not ????????? Some times we come through sometimes not !!!!!!!

We were all born innocent with great hopes from us and our parents Give this great artist a bit of space space he deserves as "all" will note both now

and in years to come ................I have listened and listened again to his inventions the truth being i don't think some of his tunes will ever ever be

bettered or even equaled for construction feeling technical or otherwise just a god gift to a fellow human !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and what a human !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't give a shit about the drugs sometimes they help as they have with many many other bands Beatles included and Stones for that matter

They just came out the other end in one form or another.. Mr Green has been given to us even if he does not know it at his own cost..

All great artists seem to have suffered in one way or another Mr green is no different is he ??????????? So for all those with negative thoughts

or comments just Fuck off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  51. T.... B....

    Absolutely fantastic! I love it.xx 💖 tina.

  52. H.... K....

  53. B.... B....

Oh my goodness, this is absolutely beautiful!

  54. M.... R....

    Now that was music

  55. p.... ....

This is proof, if ever it was needed that music is all about feel and feeling. The touch, the tone and the control is just incredible in this piece.

Peter Green ~ a legend now and forever.

  60. J.... S....

Had Peter Green continued with his music God knows what more he could have achieved.

  61. L.... A....

I love it because it is the raw sound of the guitar without all of the noise boxes added.

  62. K.... J....

    wow peter

    THE ORIGINAL AND THE BEST

  67. J.... M....

In his day green made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up I can tell you it was green that got me into playing the blues back in the 60s

  68. S.... C....

    Love this

  69. l.... t....

    Magnificent memories

  70. S.... C....

    Simply divine...

  71. J.... D....

Peter Green is a happy man these days and well looked after by family. The rest doesn't matter. His legacy is affirmed regardless of his capabilities now. Absolutely brilliant is what he was in his prime. Loved by John Lennon all the way down to me and everyone in between

    J.... D....

well said peter green is a fantastic musician.

  72. o.... n....

Which one is Peter Green ? We played his ALBATROSS at my mother's funeral. He was the real star of the first Fleetwood Mac highlight period, with BZlurs Rock orientated songs. Only later after he went. ,they took in Christine Perfect from Chicken Shack ( superb hit with: "I'd rather go blind")and even later Stevie Nicks and lindsay Buckingham, and with "Rumours" started the second highlight period with more Pop and Rock orientated songs.

    o.... n....

The guy with the grey hair, with the blue-Strat, and durag.

He had a very rough live, but this was a beautiful tour, the dark-haired guy, Nigel Watson(the dark-haired guy) really helped Peter get back to making music which led to some great albums, and concerts in the late 90's, early 2000's(as The Splinter Group).

  73. 5.... ....

robolu56: "until the Germans fried his brains" ?????? Aren't you happy he (Peter) fried his brains
in Germany , not in England? Otherwise you would have to blame them !!!!!!! For my humble acknowledgment it takes 2 , one who gives and one who takes ! And the fact, that this story
happened in Munich does not mean the "giver" is or was german.....I really love his songs, grew up on them, but ...lets not forget the facts ! Nationalistic hate is quite in fashion in this moment, but like fashion it was ALWAYS stupid !

  74. M.... A....

    For making children sleeping

  75. h.... w....

shall i tell you about my life?
they say i 'm a man of the world.
i 've flown across every tide.
and have seen lots of pretty girls..

  76. J.... M....

Guy needs a girlfriend. His emotion is only apparent to him.
My kid plays better, and he doesn't expect everyone to "Feel" him.. Fat boy is lost in his own emotion, and nobody really cares...
Maybe he should write something that can inspire others, and not just himself. It is a problem with these closet homo's, they think everybody can feel their pain...
WTF... get a life fatty, and forget about how important you are in your mind, you are supposed to be playing to the World....
Wow, This was a log time ago... Dude prob died of a fatty heart attack already... Pshewww... Spfliiittttt. Dog Farts and shitty smell... That's what happens when fat people die.....

    J.... M....

Got a message from your arse... it's missing your head.

  77. R.... L....

The idiots who criticise don't understand the difference between guitar players and musicians like Green and Beck who make the instrument sing. Green replaced Clapton in The Bluesbreakers and was even more loved.

  78. J.... F....

    Man, that was good!

  79. C.... ....

    Lovely tasteful rendition

  80. D.... M....

ABSOLUTE...................................PURE AND UTTER DISTINCTION OF CLASS..... much better than peter andre

  81. E.... G....

Peter Green mi guitarrista favorito, sólo el y John Frusciante me pueden hacer llorar.

  82. L.... J....

    Fuck you German cunts !

  83. k.... a....

Oh, well, Superman in the sixties!

  84. D.... ....

Sublime piece of music. That's what seperates the genius from the average.

  85. f.... ....

Damn you whoever did that to Peter, you wasted one of Englands greatest musical talents.

    f.... ....

    it's called mental illness

    f.... ....

@J Dubbiyou Posting ignorant comments is called mental illness.

  86. m.... r....

He came on stage at Croydon years back with BB - breathless me

  87. r.... r....

We saw him on a double bill with john mayall at hereford some years ago. How could you beat that?

  88. r.... r....

One of the most beautiful songs ever written

  89. B.... V....

Fantastic instrumental, but, this track is all about the lyrics!

    B.... V....

It is indeed, but to hear Peter sing those lyrics during this performance, after all that's happened to him, would be almost unbearable in its poignancy. I'm glad the song was presented as an instrumental.

    B.... V....

SirTedFairyspear2 you’re right, but, then you &I have the lyric imprinted on our heart/brain so don’t need them!

    B.... V....

    @Black Vegetable Very true!

  90. r.... g....

AND ALL SAY ALL OF US TRUE LEGEND

  91. i.... b....

    Shame it’s out of sync

  92. S.... C....

I think most rock and blues guitarists, if they were being honest, would admit Peter Green, in his prime, puts them all to shame on a purely cosmic level. This guy had a gift that seems to me to have lit the way for most of what came afterward. Sad how that kind of talent is often married to madness.

  93. P.... S....

    Sheer genius-PS

  94. l.... t....

So pleased to see peter doing his stuff. I use to sit down near him having a pint during their interval when he was lead Guitarist with John Mayall doing their gig at Brighton's Cadillac Club.. sadly long gone.

  95. D.... P....

I saw peter play from about 10 feet away @ the shrine auditorium back in about 67-68.as a player myself  could not believe how fucking good he was then, incredible musician.everybody played gibsons back then but all I could afford was a telecaster...how the times have changed.

  96. P.... S....

For me he's the most inventive/talented guitarist ever born.If I'd known he was on the edge of a nervous breakdown I would have grabbed my guitar and headed south to sort the silly sod out,PS

  97. M.... G....

    Piękny. Miłe wspomnienia.

  98. M.... M....

Be nice to see him do a gig with Jeremy Spencer one day before it's too late..
