Green Day - Reject Lyrics
Who the hell are you to tell me what I am
And what's my master plan?
What makes you think that it includes you?
Self-righteous wealth, stop flattering yourself.
So when the smoke clears here I am,
Sucking up you social sect, making you a nervous wreck.
To hell and back and hell again I've gone.
You're not my type.
Not my type.
What's the difference between you and me?
I do what I want, and you do what you're told.
So listen up and shut the hell up.
It's no big deal, and I'll see you in hell.
Your reject all-American.
Sucking up you social sect, making you a nervous wreck.
To hell and back and hell again I've gone.
You're not my type.
Not my type.
Not my type.
You're not my type.
So when the smoke clears here I am,
Your reject all-American.
Falling from grace, right on my face.
To hell and back and hell again I've gone.

I like this song too much...!!!
Now this is actually punk lol
Not my type of song at all but i still dig it for how it plays with that punk spirit
Great bass
to my ex.......
This is the only song I like from Green Day..
Best song from this album
did you know, that the All American Rejects named their Band after this song ? xD
Inspired by a letter of complaint from an angry mother
I miss it!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just loved the ending of this song is soo goodddd cant get enogh of it C:
Trumps song to green day
one of my favourites green day songs \m/
My favourite Green Day Album and song, it's so fucking catchy but aggressive
"reject all American"
a couple year later a new rock band popped up, All-American Rejects 🤔🤔🤔
Lazy... They just rearranged the lyrics!
f u c c
Does he say "Say big boy" maybe at the end? lol
crazily underrated
I know right !!
It certainly is. Easily my favourite track on Nimrod.
People piss me the fuck off. I knew I was better alone.
i was trying to remember the name of this song! the chorus has been stuck in my mind for two days! xP
Punk ideology is a nutshell.
They mentioned all American rejects before they existed, my sister likes them and she got this album at the libary! 🤔
this is even older than you think. there's a Bikini Kill album called Reject All American, from 96, which was one of Green Day's influences to make this one.
HA! At the library.
what did he say to the end of song, say get ...? somebody know?
dont bombard me with hate for saying this, but because all american rejects came out after this did they name themselves after this song or is just a coincidence???
Nope this is how AAR got their name
no, it's actually a coincidence. they said they just picked something cool-sounding at random (at least that's what Wikipedia says).
0:41 Beat On The Brat - Ramones
both still great songs in there own regards
True 😂
Oh yeah! Great bass line!
Pretty crazy bass near the end
before this, I listened to Blink 182's Dammit and I have to say their is a huge difference like holy fuck it's great!
They weren't referencing all american rejects. This album came out before they were together.
+Yad Neerg But Green Day is not a generic pop band!
@Whippybox_grHD! Ik, I was talking of course about all american rejects.
+DayleLucy101 this song has nothing to do with the all american rejects
All-American Rejects were good in their early years. Their first two albums were shitty pop punk, but they were shitty pop punk done _right_! I'll go to my grave loving their self-titled album!
Then their later stuff happened and...well, I can't defend them there.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember this song was an answer to a letter from a young fan's mummy complaining about explicit and rough texts in GD's songs
Lol they made a reference to all American rejects
all American rejects came out after this
Shade man
This song existed before the All-American Rejects.
Love this song!
<3
So much better than 5sos's Rejects...
It's 5sos, so of course.
anything is better than 5sos
Everything is better then 5sos
wtf is with the sudden hate for 5sos?
the last real album of greenday.
I love all Green Day albums, and they're all different, as are songs within each of them...
Nevertheless, here's my reasoning to manage to rank preferences among them :
Revolution Radio is definitely my favorite because I'm addicted to almost all the songs in it, my 2 absolute favorite songs are in it, and it's the only ever album to fit whatever mood I might be in.
21st Century Breakdown and American Idiot follow, they're both albums I love for each and every of their songs, but unlike Rev Rad only few of those are among my very, very favorite Green Day songs.
I find my other best songs mostly in the Trilogy, Nimrod and 1,039 Smoothed Hours (don't know what's the logic to this...) ; but as a whole, these albums don't equal 21st CB and AI to me ; still, I love them more than the rest of the albums, except Dos that I place just behind Kerplunk (even though it includes a song, Lazy Bones, that is my #5 favorite Green Day song).
So my "bottom 3" would be Warning (less favorite), Insomniac and Dookie. (I know : blasphemy !! I didn't even realize I would come to this result before I did this... like I said, I love these albums too)
Darin Laminack after American Idiot they sold, cashing in on its success by continuously trying to recreate it and making a FUCKING PLAY, but American idiot is a solid album,I don't like it as much as their 90s stuff, but I like better than their debut and warning
pirottino the triggered fanboys are fucking insane, I think they're last good record is American Idiot, just me though
Wait so what you're saying is that any album after this has all just been a figment of my imagination?
What about the other 6?
What is he saying at the end?
ChChillout just random vocal clips, and then “say it again boy”
Forgot how great this album was.
Still a better love story than twilight
@BeiberBabyBopper obvious troll is obvious.
i'm pretty sure it was "inspired" by the Bikini Kill album...
certain elements maybe, but the actual meaning behind the song is the letter.
A women sent a complant letter too Billie saying how she doesn't aprove his music for her son to listen too. Billie replied with almost 60-70% of the song lyrics too her. He thought it was so good that it inspierd him to make this song. But hey, that's what I know for sure but your opinion there could be a little bit right.
+Caleb Redgrave (Redgrave35) Yeah, it's because her 8 year old son was listening Insomniac right?
Nah, his grandma bought him Dookie thinking it was for kids.
97% of teens would have a breakdown if Justin Bieber was standing on the edge of a tower ready to jump. Thumbs up if you're the 3% screaming "DO A BACKFLIP!!!"
X2Lazy2WinX wow arn't you just unique and special with differing opinions to the rest of society huh? I'd bet that your parents don't understand you too right?
Dude...that’s fucked up.
This is just wrong.
Teenage angst me wouldve find this awesome. But i’m grown up
@Jared Henry i wAs BoRn In tHe WrOnG GeNErAtIoN type beat
Love Green day forever
95% Percent of teens would have a breakdown if The Jonas Brothers were standing on the edge of a tower ready to jump, copy and paste if your part of the 5% who would bring a lawn chair and popcorn!!! i would
It's just back and forth between seven semitones bro :P
Check out Dirty Rotten Bastards from Tre go from 3:15 to 3:30. That's some serious basswork :P
1:35 Oh! Sweet Lord of Music, this Bass riff and Guitar is so freaking juicy
what? i thought this song was about the Bikini Kill album?
This song is about a complant letter a mother sent to Billie Joe after her son's grandmother bought a cassete of the album Dookie just for him. But yeah, that's where the "reject all-American" thing came from.
EDIT: Actually, he is sarcasticlly calling himself an "reject all-American". My bad.
i was saying to not say that green day's music is "evil". they all have a very strong back story and are very well written.
with all due respect, i respect your music you should respect ours so with that respect kindly Fuck Off.
0:45 must feel that phrase
me too!
I ever dreamt to sing this song to a Guy who pissed me off
This song NEEDS a music video!
That woman doesn't deserve a song written about her by Billie joe
Lol is it really?
That awkward moment when you realize the band name All-American Rejects is a reference to Green Day...
:'( I want Green Day to right a song inspired by mee!! But one thats like "Omigod this person is awesome!!", not one thats all against me and junk. >:P Love this song though!!!
I NEED GREEN DAY STUFFS...

HAHAHAHA who the hell are you to tell me what I am and what's my master plan? What makes you think that it includes you? Self-righteous wealth, stop flattering yourself! So when the smoke clears here I am, your reject, all-American... Sucking up your social sect, making you a nervous wreck! TO HELL AND BACK AND HELL AGAIN I'VE GONE... you're not my type!
Wow, your a loser and your user name sucks!
Lol that guy is an idiot this song is a response to a woman who wrote an angry letter to him
I'd rather go to hell than end up in heaven with this guy.
Best song of Nimrod
I just received your comment and this is my response.
They don't write music for friends, enemies or your dumb ass. They write it for themselves and say anything they damn well please. That's the difference between you and them, they do what they want, you do what your told.Obviously, you're not on the same planet let alone the same ballpark. They find people like you offensive and it helps them to know you won't be buying any of their albums.
The words of Billie Joe with a few of my own modifications
Bieber is evil music.
This is an Angel singing, and the Devil playing.
@Letollsfangirl BieberBabyBopper is just another hater who spends to much time judging us to look in the mirror and realize what's wrong with themselves. They need to learn how to fix their own problems before screwing with our life. They think we need counseling when they don't know us as a person.
@BieberBabyBopper lol you don't even deserve the title American idiot, if you want to be 'friends' mid your own business and let us be us. If you don't like this music then go back to your chipmunk crap that is known as Justin Bieber. We don't need counseling because there's nothing wrong with us. We make our own rules to follow instead of play God with the government.
u have friends?
I know they formed in 1987. Why the hell are people thinking I don't?
fun fact. Nimrod comes from the bible name of a famous great hunter. Bugs bunny used it to sarcastically insult elmer fudd (who is a terrible hunter) . Ever since, it's been synonymous with being an idiot
@spiderjerusalem100 This is flat Punk...don't ever mix Punk with something as vile as Pop...because they're complete opposites... xP
Sweet Children was formed in 1987 and they changed their name to Green Day in 1990
really..? people are arguing with someone with the username "BEIBER-BABY-BOPPER"?? obviously they're not gonna know a thing about anything as awesome as Green Day so why even botherrrr -______-
I'm actually happy that that mother wrote to billie. Now we have this song. :)
I know that I meant under the name green day
Is not evil, its real.
Nom they actually formed when Billie Joe was like 10, under the name "Sweet Children"
leave blood out of this blood has a leage of its own
what's the difference between you and me? i do what i want and you do what youre told. EPIC lyrics!
It still stuns me that this wasn't a runaway hit...I sure wish the boys would mix this in a set sometime!
So Wait your saying you would rather us listen to Woman the go on a kids show's half naked then music that actually meaningful?!?! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That's funny.
@MrTech991 Yeah I'm guessing you didn't see my correction
@MMMunchlax
They started as early as 86 under 'Sweet Children' but changed their name very shortly after to Green Day. Released their first EP in '89.
Im just gonna comment that this is my favorite green day song on every video of a green day song and see if anyone notices...
I thought they started in '89? When did they change their name?
@Geekstinkbreath123 wtf i said that a very long time ago.....who gives a shit its green day all of you dumbasses needa stop fighting over green day...fuuck
@GeekStinkBreath737 "WRONG. They formed in '92" And I was fighting with the troll cause he said that Green day supported meth and shit like that. and smoshyfreak said I contradicted myself I was just correcting her.
why are you guys fighting about Geek Stink Breath??? this fuckin song is REJECT....jesus some goddamn fans that fight with eachother over dumb things -_-
@Geekstinkbreath123 what was my comment that you replied to?
@Geekstinkbreath123 I mean 87
@GeekStinkBreath737 Wrong Green Day was formed in '89. Kurplunk! came out in 91
@Smoshyfreak Also It is against meth
@BieberBabyBopper Anouther thing troll Do a little research before you start bugging us. Geek stink breath is AGAINST meth. Fuck you
@Smoshyfreak Geek stink breath is my favorite song. It got me back in to green day And away from conforming with the rest of my generation.
Its funny cuz geekstinkbreath 123 claims to not smoke drink or snort anything but geek stink breath is about meth which is smoked. But I don't remember if there was coc snorting in that song but I just thought it was kinda contradictory
my favorite green day album ever
