Green Day was the first ever band I started listening to on my own and they introduced me to the whole world of classic rock, punk, metal etc etc. While I prefer the who's version (live at Leeds?? anyone?) I still feel all fuzzy and warm inside to listen to this right now. I feel right at home.

October 30, 1999 - The Who and Green Day on the same bill at Neil Young's annual Bridge Concert. The one and only time I saw John Entwistle on acoustic bass.

Obviously they aren't, Green Day is just a decent punk band, The Who was one of the most important and revolutionary bands in rock history. Green Day could never create something as great as "Who's Next" or "Quadrophenia".
