In truth this song actually is not from Newfoundland. It isn't even Canadian.

Beautiful song. However, if you're going to do a lyrics video please get the lyrics right. He sings "Grace and beauty both combine to make that THOUGHT more rare". I know the lyrics on many sites say "Grace and beauty both combine to make that FAR more rare" but that isn't what he sings. Thanks for making the video! I wish the band would make some of their own!

I lived in St. John's for a year from 2005 tp 2006..My boyfriend knew how much I loved this song and that the forget me not was my favourite flower. He enjoyed me singing it and said I was graceful and charming. One day, he ripped the radio out of the wall and beat me to a pulp. I moved back to Ontario but I can say to Great Big Sea, thank you for this beautiful song. He does not represent a true Newfoundlander.
