I mean, I know they were kinda having fun on this album, but I'd love to go back to stuff like Excalibur, The Grave Digger, Knights of the Cross, etc......

The lyrics are fucking garbage, but the music is cool.

While I’m not averse to listening to Heavy Metal bands that sing songs about Heavy Metal music; I’m weary of cringe worthy lyrics! This is both lyrically and musically cliched to the point of it being a cross between Bad News and a Spinal Tap! I love Grave Digger and am a huge fan but this song is just dreadful. On the other hand if you compare it to another song about Heavy Metal by Grave Digger called:’Metal Will Never Die’, you will find that that song beats this one hands down. One last point. While I admire all Heavy Metal bands that pay homage to the style of music they play, to their fans and to the Metal way of life; there’s only one Heavy Metal band that is truly qualified to write and play a song about Heavy Metal music. That band is the one and only: JUDAS PRIEST. If in doubt, and if not got, then get ‘Ram it Down’, and play the song HEAVY METAL 🤘

Metal bands doing songs with lyrics about the greatness of metal is...rarely a good idea, from a lyrical standpoint.

I had warned before the album was released, but the band preferred to laugh, ignore the fans etc ...reading the comments below it only becomes clear how much something must be done to change the situation of the band before it is too late, things are slowly falling apart, recently H.P. and Stefan Arnold left the band, things are very fickle for Grave Digger at the moment, and it seems to me that they do not realize it. And every day they take stranger ways like throwing a polka metal, or making comedic videos. Every day they release more generic songs, with choruses full of "chanting melodies" ...the songs start super fast so the verses slow down. Where did the ShadowMaker-type refrains go? Pendragon? Symphony of Death? Back to the Roots? Ruler Mr. H? Now every refrain wants to be epic and full of supporting vocals that take away any feeling of energy or aggression. Boltendahl's vocals no longer demonstrate the passion of yesteryear, he only uses the same grave tone, stopped using almost his voice more acute and torn. The tempo of the songs no longer has the sense of urgency they had. Where did those direct, but fast, intense riffs like those used in Mordred's Song, Ride On or The Battle of Flodden? There are many things that were classic characteristics of the band is that they are now neglected. I think another guitarist with new ideas could be a good acquisition, nor say to take Axel because he has his trumps, but a new blood in the compositions and guitar work set could be a good solution to solve this sameness that has been taking over the band.

These are constructive criticisms, of whom in fact the band is hoping to get better every day, the band is yours and you do what you think right, but sometimes an outside view can perceive things that go unnoticed by those who are inside the game . Listen to your fans below, it's a good way to regain respect once. Nobody is asking to record a new Tunes of War, it has already been done, but do not settle for just "good", look for the "great". Hugs...

Eh... I don't think I liked this one. The lyrics are so silly and there are some grammar mistakes!

This band Grave Digger is quite respectable. They do metal since hirst half of 80s. They reached some hights, and their album list have some treasures to boast (albums like "The Ripper", "Heart of Darkness", "Tunes of war" etc). They also became one of most famous and recognizable depictions of "teutonic heave metal" style, standing in second row while Accept stands in the first one. But we are talking about the past. Their modern material like this song is so bad that you even can question yourself, can it be any worse? This is utter shit, complete garbage. Just ridiculously stupid, uncouth and tasteless. What we can consider as a positive sides of this song? Lyrics is ridiculous and dumb. Riffs is predictable and lean. Chorus?... Hell no, its another hymn-like tacky wailings as usual perfomed by chorus. Sorry, but i cant understand why they release such a helpless stuff. They just ruin their name.

Guitar- Sound is weak like recorded with a cheap combo amp. Grave Digger always had a huge guitar tone, where is it now? Gone... Just remember Excalibur, The Grave Digger oder Ballads Of A Hangman.

I hate to be that kind of guy... but do you remember the Heart of Darkness or Tunes of War? Those were cool.
But maybe at the time I was an angry teenager and now I am old and nostalgic. Who knows.

I thought it was ok. Pretty standard and sounds like it could be on any of their last few albums. The new album has no surprises ( aside from that awful polka track), and I don't think it's as good as 'Healed By Metal'. I just wish they would give us some fast songs again.

This is awkward, both music and lyric-wise. Grave Digger used to have strong and educative lyrics, they actually fired my interest in history back then. Unfortunately, that times are long gone and only shallow ballast remained.

They used to have lyrics about more interesting subjects, maybe, but they were still very simple, cheesy and often badly written. And that was always one of the things you either accept about the band or not, I guess. I still cringe at the grammatically ridiculous "your disciples belong to thee" from Baphomet, for example, even though I really like the song. :)

Fair enough. You're always limited by the song structure, so it's pretty damn hard to incorporate historical events into it. Nevertheless, the themes on Tunes Of War, Knights Of The Cross and Excalibur were meaningful and could trigger an interest in history among the kids.

Zombie Dance was great, just different. Fear of the Living Dead was weak though.

Fear of the living Dead will not be one of their masterpieces, but it's ok. Zombie Dance just doesn't fit to the style of Grave Digger. I like Russkaja, but this combination with Grave Digger sounds like 2 completely different songs wildly cut together... It would be better as a song by Russkaja feat. Grave Digger not the other way around.
