Grateful Dead - Caution (Do Not Stop On Tracks) Lyrics

I went down one day, I went down one day to see a Gypsy woman,
Just one old day, yes I did,
I want to find out, I want to find out,
I want to find out, I want to find out now,
What's wring with me and my baby.
We ain't gettin' down like we used to do,
I mean it's pretty good now, but there was a time,
When it didn't work too well.

I went down to see this Gypsy woman, you understand,
I told her my story, I told her what was goin' on.
And she told me, man she said, all you need, all you need,
She said all you got to have, oh Lord,
Just a touch of Mojo's hand, oh bring it back on,
And it feels pretty good, yes indeed.

This may be the first true psychedelic noise-rock album. A band just recording walls of feedback. If you think about it, there's nothing quite like this album in 1966 or 1967, not even The Dead's own debut. There was The Mothers Of Invention but that's not really the same thing.

I noticed the "ending" of the song is roughly 48% of the song's total length. I found this peculiar when I was younger. This technique to me is similar to some of the jazz that came out in the late 1960s - early 1970s. Especially the "meditative" effect the musicians sought to achieve. Sometimes, the entire musical piece was either a "beginning", or "end" (or both). "Red, Black, and Green" by Pharoah Sanders is an example of this. Also John Coletrain comes to mind. This was experimental music, and is an acquired taste. But today I believe, somewhere I have acquired the taste!
