Grass Roots, The - Powers Of The Night Lyrics

Feelings of the man inside of me
Shouldn't be this strong
Feelings - the rest o' you, he's got the best o' you
And that don't keep me warm

Stealin' away from the pain of the day
Lost tonight
And I'm losin' my head from this cold in my bed
I will get to you

You were carried away by the powers of the night
You were swept away by the powers of the night
Powers of the night

Hangin' around this cold, lonely town
Tryin' to get tough
Insistin' the feel that I know isn't real
'Cause it's not enough

One more hand I'll lay on me just to feel the touch
And I'm losin' my head from this cold in my bed
I will still get to you

You were carried away by the powers of the night
You were swept away by the powers of the night
Powers of the night

You were carried away by the powers of the night
You were swept away by the powers of the night

You were carried away by the powers of the night
You were swept away by the powers of the night
Powers of the night

  1. H.... ....

Freida Parton (Dolly's sister) cowrote this song.

  2. G.... M....

This album is SO good, Rob vocally was in his prime, he could really rock! I love every song. Such a shame album sales went nowhere.

  3. J.... B....

    ¡una de mis favoritas! 👍

  4. D.... H....

That album should have been a big comeback, but MCA sit on it.

  5. G.... S....

This was such a FUN album to make! They were a TIGHT group...Sadly no real chart action for it......

  6. m.... f....

    Green eyed handsome Grill 😎

  7. l.... ....

How in the hell did this avoid any chart status? This is as 80's as you could get, and it still sounds Grass Roots.

  8. v.... ....

I have album. Bought brand new in 1982. Great songs :)

  9. T.... R....

Just epic! Those keyboards sound like Tony Banks was in the studio with them. Should have been all over FM radio.

Bob B. This is one of my favorite albums that I may never find again. Such a GREAT  early 80's album that is rarely heard, and will never be praised. if only I could find it like I did in the dollar bin at the mall..................

    t.... ....

Bought mine in 1982 and still have it :)

This version of the band included Terry Oubre (guitar), Charles Judge (keyboards) and Ralph Gilmore (drums) all of which had been in a Tucson band called Central Air. It was an excellent band that never released a single record. I have their professionally recorded demos and play a few on my internet radio station at www.EarlyRockShow.com

  12. J.... W....

This is a rare song that hasn't been heard in decades

    J.... W....

Despite the artist and the music they did in the past, this album might actually be up Rock Candy Records alley.

  13. G.... F....

un excelente tema de una banda poco recordada en Argentina.
