Grant, Amy - Sing Your Praise To The Lord Lyrics

Sing your praise to the Lord
Come on everybody
Stand up and sing one more hallelujah
Give your praise to teh Lord
I can never tell you
Just how much good that it's
Gonna do you just to

Sing anew
The song your heart learned to sing
When He first gave His life to you
The life goes on and so must the song
You gotta sing again
The song born in your soul
When you first gave your heart to Him
Sing His praises once more

Sing aloud
The song that someone is dying to hear,
Down in the madd'ning crowd
As you once were before you heard the song
You gotta let them know
The truth is alive to shine upon the way
So maybe they can go
Sing your praises once more

Let the name of the Lord be praised,
Both for now and evermore,
Praise him, oh, you servants
Give your

Sing, sing sing
Come on
Sing, sing, sing,
I can hear you now
Sing, sing, sing

Dec 4, 2019: I dedicate this song to my daughter, Candace Marie Duran, her brothers (Jason/Sean) and their dad Tim. Although Sean and her dad have already passed away, Candace and Jason still reside in New England. They have all made great sacrifices, but God is our great rewarder. Katrina

  6. David Ehiemua

Of all the gospel singers Amy Grant is the most gifted when it comes to creating melody.

  7. Erin Lee

Whether you are into religion or not I think you have to admit she really murders it out.

  8. Sarah B

Psalm 92:1 " It's so enjoyable to come before You with uncontainable praises spelling from our hearts! How we love to sing our praises over and over to You, to the matchless God, high and exalted above all!"

    Judy Holiday

This album brought me through a tough time with my health back in 1986-87..Thank you Amy for sharing your beautiful voice with us..

  15. Josh Walls

My mom would sing this in church, I always thought it sounded goofy. There are contemporary christian songs that sound 10x better. If your gonna listen to trash at least listen to something that at least sounds good.

  16. furlonggg1

wake the whole neighborhood with this song!

    Rich Mullins' epic song...

  25. Hans Dampf

    amy is the best

  26. Laura Cates

Does anyone know what classical piece is at the beginning?

  27. Libby Liv

Bach's fuege in c minor brought me here.

  28. Mike Cosgrove

For those who praise the classical intro (Bach's Tocata and Fugue in D-minor), if you go back to the original Amy Grant recording, it's not there. Vince Gill's producer friends talked her into dropping it. It was only after Rich Mullins recorded it himself using the hammer dulcimer for the Bach that Amy Grant recorded it with the piano intro.

  29. T G

    Awesome!!! Just Awesome!!!!😍

  30. Athena Rae

Did anyone else start singing this today,
My next thought is as we walk in our everyday lives we are singing as we go sending a message.
The question came am I singing life or death, truth or decay.
We are to reach to God's kids share the good news and ALL make back home to heaven to be together as he created us to be. Sing praise to the lord let his love shine so we can praise the Lord together forever

  31. Kim Scott

  41. josh oof12

and yes. lots of people use rich mullins' songs and claim them as his or her own. Just because rich mullins is dead does not mean they can just take his songs

Amy never once said she wrote the song. Where do you people make this shit up from?

  42. AdalChagas Ferreira

Intro: Johann Sebastian Bach - Prelude & Fugue No.2 in C minor

    Hallie Harker

Adalchagas Ferreira Thank you! I heard someone playing that Fugue yesterday and it was bugging me where I'd heard it before! Then today I was looking up that prelude and fugue on YouTube and Wikipedia and it came to me! Hadn't heard this song in years!

  43. KuiperDesu

  54. Hillary Campbell

I loved this as a child; the score is brilliant. I would still feel the same way if the lyrics were a bit different.

    Sheldon Tucker

You will find that one day you will like, or even love, them again!

    George Bratcher

It was a Rich Mullins song that Amy covered. Of course her version got the most airplay and listening time. I heard this song as a teenager over 30 years ago, and now in midlife, it is even more precious. You find God is bigger than all the sorrow, hurt, pain, and suffering you go through in life, and that when you are in the midst of it, much like Paul & Silas after they were beaten and thrown in jail, now, not the good times, is especially the time to lift up your heart in praise, because you know the Holy Spirit is holding your hand and is with you at all times, suffers with you at all times. People think Christ's suffering ended on the Cross, no it began continued when his Holy Spirit was given to His children that he might abide with them and be one with them, both in suffering and in joy!

    _Just _another_person

Hillary Campbell I did too. My mom has a album of her's and when she would put it in I would ask her to turn it to this song. It's just so beautiful and uplifting.

    Simon D. Aelsi

Why would a message about God and His goodness EVER be "outgrown"...?

  55. Lenard Poon

Rich Mullins was a musical genious who wrote music recorded by a couple of the all time greats in Christian music. He tragically died at the age of 41.

  56. Tairy Hesticles

When I was little my mom used to play this song all the time while doing the laundry. If she wasn't actively cleaning the shit out of my dirty, kid undies at the time I would have kicked her right in her pussy. I hate this song.

I love rich Mullins version better....and he wrote it

    LaCurrone C

    then why are you here

does anyone els see Rick Muffins instead of Mullins?

  67. Destiny Heero Prime

Oh my god that bad.dont get me wrong Amy has a beautiful voice but she can't sing it with passion and love like rich Mullins could and I know without her help he probably would had never been known but still this is bad compared to his.RIP rich, can't wait to see your concert in heaven and hopefully Amy won't be singing any of your music man because she can't pull out the love and passion in your music like you could

  94. sissaboolives2012

it sure brings back memories though, I was a young preteen when I first heard this :)

  95. sissaboolives2012

oh was it? well, he smoothly blended a piano piece that's over 400 years old, with a 'modern' yet worshipful style!

  96. sissaboolives2012

Any person who has learned Royal Conservatory of Music Piano Grade 10, has played the intro, which is over 400 years old or thereabouts!

Anyway, this recording is from the early Christian pop era, the 'baby' era of Christian pop :)

  97. Ashton Babuin

I agree with mrm64 credit for this song shoud go to rich mullins, but still an amazing song nonetheless

  98. mrm64

Gotta give respect to Rich Mullins. I believe he composed the song :)

    Greg Elchert

He did! Although he borrowed the intro from some guy named Bach...
