this was  the song that me and my dad danced to for father daughter dance for my wedding june 19,2011 father's day and when I got married 2nd time juky 13,2011 for my husbands family my brother walked me down the isle cause my dad was too sick and we danced again to this song..and I when I go to cemetery to visit my dads plot I always place this song..:-)

Anyway, I was curious as to what you thought of Petra's song "Bema Seat." It's the only other CCM song I can think of that talks about one's works being judged. Also, do you happen to know of any others?

To be technical, HE lives despite anyone that claims to have him living within their "heart".

Well, I always thought a funny hymn was Marching to Zion: "We're marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion..." but the meter is a waltz, haha! The thing is, I'm an amateur songwriter who once aspired to being a pro. And I know from experience that the pickier you are about the lyrics, the harder it is to write the song. If you insist on its simply being grammatically correct, for instance, or theologically correct, or if a client/ad agency has to approve it, well, it can become an almost impossible task. Truth is, I've written countless melodies that have been abandoned because I could never make the lyrics work. So you'll find that I'm quick to defend less-than-perfect lyrics with the "artistic license" defense. In the case of He Lives, I'm thinking it's a perfectly wonderful song, as it's offering a personal and heartfelt testimony rather than presenting, say, a Lee Strobel-type case for why we know He's alive. But let me know what you think of Bema Seat, if you can find it, that is (it's here on YT). I'm just curious. I should you warn you, though, it's a rocker! :)

Two days ago after service a sister introduced her daughter to me.We were meeting for the first time and what virtue she said she saw in me made me wonder. As I mused upon what she said MY FATHER's EYES came to me, I said this must be what Amy Grant meant and kept on singing in my heart.
