I remember hearing this song live when Kina visited Toronto. I didn't understand it at first, but after listening to it and remembering it from the concert, I cried because the meaning behind it as explained by Kina broke my heart so much....

I was always in love with the entire album, but only used YouTube as a way of listening to it, and then my friend bought me the entire KG discography and I've listened to every song from Elements, Stairwells, and pretty much everything else. This is just amazing.

Ok I may be dumb but I see this song having tons of different meanings could someone explain a little more on what this song is about?

Kina explained that she struggles with the idea that we are impermanent, that all things come to an end. This leads to one of her biggest fears, losing her parents. Recently she experienced the death of someone close to her, her grandfather. It was sad for her, but when she realized that her dad was facing what she always feared, it really hit her hard (Cue chorus: "My father has a father too"). The song explores those emotions and how she felt during that time.

Sometimes I try to write songs about the same things, but I'm never going to be able to express it as well as Kina.

This song gives me chills (the good kind) and brings me to tears. The only other artist ever to do that to me is Sarah Mclachlan.

I was thinking of Sarah Maclachan aswell this morning when I was listening to Kina.. They have a similar sounding voice.. beautiful.. I'm also kinda sick I missed Kina when she came to Ireland. I have followed her on here for yrs. Do u know if she's touring Europe or preferably IRELAND again in 2015?? Where would I find that information??
